I'm a bit confused, when the tabs are selected from the items in the today setting for the home screen (i.e. not htc sense or windows default), in the "no unread messages" selection why is there no reference to sms, I'm only getting a "setup email box". To retrieve my texts I'm having to either read the text from the bubble notification above or to go into start and htc messages.

I have the original ROM on my HD but have several problems with the threaded messaging...
1. while in the threaded messaging screen if a reply is made the text icon continues to be displayed or it is not recognised a reply has been made and on the today screen (touchFlo and normal today screen) still shows as text still not read.
2. after several text messages and returning to the threaded messaging screen it returns to old texts and I have to scroll down by pressing "newer" to get to the last text.
Has anyone else had this problem?
if you dont like threaded msg, then install hd tweak and revert back to the classical way of viewing text.
as for the icon that u have an unread msg, it's usually right, u probably have a text that is not read, look down your list, if there's no unread text, then while in msg, click on inbox, and from the drop down menu, make sure that u have no unread msgs in any other inboxes u might have.
good luck
I actually prefer threaded messaging and you misunderstand the problem I'm describing. Obviously in threaded messaging the messages are one after the other and there is no option of going into individual messages. The problem is that once a reply is made the text icon should disappear but it does not.
Any way to get the messages "line" on the non sense home screen to go to sms
Hi all, I decided to not use the sense home page thing and now my phone is much more like the x1 main screen which is ok as I have a few plugins (some still to install) on there and it makes for easy nav... but the message line only links me to the outlook emails rather than all the messaging services... any way I can get it to show text messaging when I "click" on it... cheers
Ok I found out that when you disable sense its called titanium... so is there any way to get the message section on the home screen to go straight to sms messaging instead of emails... actually come to think of it where is the text message option in the list of accounts in the email setting, are they not linked now as they were in the X1...?
Hello,
On my HTC HD2 I have disable the Sense interface and have used the Normal Windows Today program with the "messaging" option displayed.
So I have the "No unread messages" as normal on my today screen like.
But whenever I recieve a message it doesn't say on the today screen "1 Unread message", but just a notification comes up on the taskbar at the top and when i click it it opens the HTC Application.
How can I make it that whenever I recieve a message I can use the default windows App and have all my messages listed there (Like on earlier OS's).
On 6.1 device when I click on "No unread messages" it comes up with which account to select, there is
"TEXT MESSAGES" and
"SET UP EMAIL".
But on my HTC HD2 it just says "Setup Email", there is no "TEXT MESSAGES" tab.
Can anybody help me to make it so I can use the default messaging application on windows to send/recieve SMS Messages.
Much Thanks.
Boris.
Have a look at this. It looks like just what you need

I'm looking for a way to make it when I click on a received sms in the sms tab it will bring up that contacts sms thread from within the inbox (Like when clicking "All Messages" in the bottom left corner) as opposed to bringing up that program that shows their contact card, messages, mail, events, call history. That just bogs my phone down and I personally don't like the layout of it.
Hi there. I have same problem as here Get rid of SMS notification on top status bar on my Mini.
In HTC Sense homesreec, above SMS tab, is still unread SMS count. Im reading SMS messages in that tab, but I have to open it in messaging app to clear notification. Sometimes I have to open all of them since I dont know which one is unread. Can I disable that notification somehow or set it to mark as read when I read it in Sense Home Screen?
There is a timeout on the SMS tab.
If you have received an SMS and switch to the SMS tab, the counter is only changed when the SMS is shown long enough. If you read quickly and swipe to the next SMS, the timeout is not reached, and the counter not changed.
To quickly show which SMS are not read yet, go to "All messages". You will see an overview of your contacts and the unread messages from these contacts.
Thank you very much, really. You're right, I never reached that timeout before, I'm reading too fast. I'll wait for it now, it's working
