I've got myself a new Vario, but I can't seem to get the contacts to sort by first name - is there any way to do this?
Sorry if this is a dumb question! I've been mucking about with it for ages!
Many thanks
Zakkz,

yes it is possible,
even different ways to get this:
you can use a little freeware application 'File As First Last" that will be included in the default contacts applications. It allows you to save the contact by "firstname lastname" 'or even by company etc. The application can be found on pocketpcfreewares.com: http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=828
you could also change the contact settings on your desktop...within the Outlook contact, you can change the setting 'save contact as', there you can chose to use "firstname lastname"
yet another way to solve this problem is to use another application for your contacts. Pocket Informant is really very good! there you can easily chose to sort the contacts by "firstname lastname"...you can also chose to see the contact pictures in the list of contacts, which is really great I think!
and you've got many many other options and settings to change the calendar/contacts/tasks views...also a really great search function within Pocket Informant...try it for yourself...

Couldn't find the contacts application in windows directory to experiment with parameters. Any hint?

not really the right forum for this though
Can anyone help, I am looking for a way to create a small application that allows the WM5 & WM6 Contacts to a .xml file. And Mabey a way to feed it to a server (FTP)
Can anyone help with this?
I am basically trying to find a way to backup massive ammounts of contaccts to a webserver for over 800 users
Just write your own tool for it
For example with .NET it's possible to interact with the contacts-file using the .NETCF classes.
.NETCF also supports XML functionality.

Pocket SMS Manager
Hi,
My PocketSMS Manager does this. It may not export enough detail for you though. Have a look at my application (further down this thread).
If you need more fields exporting just let me know as it will only take me a few minutes to drop them in.

I recently installed PocketCM and it replaced all the contacts shortcut using the default contact manager with new program.
How can i make a shortcut to use the default Contact manager as well?
I searched on the forum and after reading through came up with
23#"\Windows\poutlook.exe"contacts
in the .lnk file.
What could i be doing wrong?
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hello.
i am a Pocket Informant user and wish to change from the Sense calendar to the PI Calendar.
I have had a look through the registry and found nothing - least with the settings i am using. I have also trolled through the various files and folders.
I thought that it would simply be a matter of finding the EXE that launches the Sense Calendar and renaming to old and replacing with the PI Calendar.exe, but i can't find it.
Can anyone help?
