hello all, I wanted to ask if I can improve the performance of my Xda atom getting slower. What can I increase the RAM capacity of it? how the tips and tricks to overcome this problem? thank you in advance.
Welll i use clean RAM to free some ram spaces. This helps me alot.

You can UNDERlock and save battery when you don't need the standard cpu clock......

well dude sometimes i feel tht the processor is way too slow .so i feel tht this might help
Battery Status is the best program for it in my opinion, overclocking may reduce battery life, and you have the risk of overheating the processor and cooking it, which is not covered by warrenty!
Before you start doing this, i would suggest you see how much free RAM you have, which is also shown with Battery status, or under Settings.
Making sure programs actually close, and are not just minimised can also help.
hey dude but can u tell me the procedure in detail?
i see no option there.
if there is any application for the same will u give me the link
Does this work as good as it says?

There are some benefits to SWAP yes, however using your MicroSD as RAM is far far slower than using actual RAM - so some things can play a little badly with it.
It also isn't a healthy thing to use when it comes to prolonging the lifespan of your MicroSD card as its using all those writes at an almost constant rate.
That being said though, enabling a SWAP partition on your MicroSD card is a somewhat easy thing to do and there are loads of other apps that will do this for free for you. I would not pay for this.
me tried in all roms me use my memory class 10 and good swap for me

So what your saying is it would let me have more multitasking but at the same time it would be slower.
First here is how to do that for free.

And yes I use that method, for me my Neo2Play gained some speed, less lags. But there is but, best is when used with fast card. I have 32GB class 10, on my old class 2 it wasn't so impressive.
Works great for me with 1105 MB swap RAM on Atomic GB 7.0.(2.3.7) Especially when using it with RAM Manager Pro on Hard Multitasking setting.
hehe
This sounds cool
amazing

I found a free version as well v2.0.2 and use it on my I337 S4 from ATT and works with not one force close
Just curious, but is anyone else experiencing 1gig+ worth of ram usage with no apps running? Just seemed a bit excessive to me for the system to take up over half the total ram in the device.. thanks in advance.

What is your concern here? Do you run out of RAM when you start up all your favorite apps?
No, it's not an issue for it to use half the RAM for the system. Keep yourself from looking at it. It's fine.
People need to learn how android manages RAM, it uses parts for system and the rest is only freed from older running apps when needed, high ram usage is not a ISSUE! as a great dev on the xperia play section stated @CosmicDan "Free ram is wasted Ram"

I would think that if it works anything like a PC, then the more code you can get into RAM the faster it will execute as compared to having it pull/swap it from disk, or chip sets.

True, but if you're using a custom ROM it could be a memory leak. I recently learned that *many* builds of CM10 for many devices (mostly Mali GPU ones) have serious memory leaks with hardware acceleration.
You can free 120-200 MB by disabling LG MIT
Type 3845#*802# (if you have the international version) in order to access the hidden menu. Scroll down to LG MIT and disable it
search how android uses ram, and you notice, theoretically (pun intended), why low free ram is not an issue(supposedly)

Yeah well this is obvious, But usually this is not the case, And Hello CosmicDan!
it's always around 850 - 950 when nothing is open on rayglobe 3.2
just wanna say something to reach 10 post for development access !
Instead of checking for low RAM, check the Running Apps list and find the offending app/service that is eating RAM. Then see if you can disable or remove it. It could be a memory leak from a bloat ROM app or one you installed. Right now I have 100MB free on my 1GB phone but its perfectly normal, because there are so many apps in background that I use. In fresh boot its about 300MB free, because apps like Facebook and Tapatalk run a service all the time.

Hi all....
considering the OP5 has a lot of fast RAM (8gb in the 128 version), what would be the best way to make the most out of it? For example, do you think it would be possible that custom ROMs can cache in RAM the launcher and running widgets? or stuff like this that would speed up even more the user experience?
I would be very happy to concede 2 or 3GB of RAM to be allocated specially for stuff like this... what do you guys think?
Thanks,
Chale
I think OP is calling it App Priority?

Hello guys,am planning to buy the Asus zenfone max pro m2(4/64 variant).
Should I go for it?I have read various comments on YouTube saying that the mobile consumes a lot of ram and also battery drains too fast etc.
So,I want suggestions from you people.. Also can anyone please tell me how much ram is free in 4gb Variant.?
Thanks
I don't understand all free RAM obsession, RAM is meant to be used and to my knowledge, 80% of available RAM will be occupied. That unless you restrict background running for most apps. Alternatively, you can easily clear recent apps on regular basis. Or better yet, use Naptime or similar apps to apply Doze more aggresively. I use realme 2 pro which natively applying aggresive RAM cleanups and I'm not happy with that. I don't have any issues with Max Pro 2 battery. When it comes to android, you have more control of it. It isn't perfect in any sense but that's what makes it challenging and interesting.
There is no issues like that. They must be comparing it to redmi or realme phones which use aggressive ram management. They even provide tools to clear and kill recent apps in the skin itself. In my opinion this affects the seamless multi-tasking capability of the phone. Why buy a phone with 4gb of ram if you can't use it?!!

More the RAM is being used more seamless experience you gonna get, Free RAM does nothing in phone but occupied RAM does help out with quick and snappier feel of the phone. You can free the RAM but that won't help you anyway, when android wanna load something in the RAM which is filled it removes allocation of memory to less prioritised stuffs and this process repeats all over when you open different Apps. When an app is already there in RAM it's faster to switch/open that app !

Yes exactly, redmi and realme phones comes with custom ui which causes the unnecessary ram usage.
