Dear M2D developers,
Is it possible to have a version of M2D with the ability to supprt animated background / gif image etc?
I have read somewhere that we can use other today plugins alongwith M2D with the help of a cab posted somewhere in this forum. I tried to use "GIF today" plugin but that didnt work
It Would be real cool if the GIF support is integrated within the M2D itself.
Dunno really, just an Idea that seems to be quite achievable with kind of experties you guys have

I haven't found any info on this matter...
I have tons of WM 2003SE tsk themes, but... they don't work with WM 5.0 in my Universal...
Do you know where can I find compatible themes? I tried wisbar advance desktop, but it is still in beta... I'm looking for simple tsk themes that work in WM 5.0
Any help would be appreciated.
Someone posted this a while back, I beleive you need the Pocket PC SE VGA to work with the Universal. I have not tried it yet, so do post back if they do work.
http://www.wmthemes.com/default.aspx
It doesn't work. The lower two softkeys don't change their colour, and the wallpaper appears like grey, even if it has... every colour of the rainbow.
I'm really surprised that M$ hasn't announced a theme maker for WM 5.0... And more surprised that there are only 1-2 themes available for WM 5.0 devices...
Really unfortunate...
Try this one:

try mine. i've been playing for a while. some of them are really cool. tell me what do you guys think??? rename the extention to .tsk
More to come....
svyatko you rock! Excellent themes at last!!! Send more plz!
How did you make them my friend? With what kind of software?
Thanx also for the other links to the other friend who post them
Hi svyatko,
Are you using a launcher? How did you get to show so many icons on your screen?
What is the colorful round icon near the battery icon?
Very nice themes. How did you create them?
Great themes svyatko!
I dont seem to have the additional icons!
Do I need to install flash or anything?
guys thanks for your comments. Now, all icons I have , are RESCO TODAY PLUG-IN. it's pretty cool. and it doesn't slow the system like SPB POCKET PLUS one. The icon in the corner next to the battery is POCKET INFORMANT icon.
and regarding the software I am using, its something like McDEV Theme creator. I can't remember the axact name, coz i'm @ work, sneakely writing from my Exec ;-))
yess! The program is ThemeMaker McDeb and it works...
At last I made my own themes based on the ones provided here! Thanx again my friend, it works great.
i'm glad you made it. the only problem I find difficult to solve is the dimentions of the picture. no matter how I tried, the picture gets cut in landscape or in portrait modes. it's obviously not a big deal in an abstract pictures, but in something more precise, that is a great pain in the ass...
Do you have a link for the resco today plugin?

Hello, I am having a lot of trouble with installing the Cabs.
I keep installing these cabs over and over to see the differences, and I wish the creator could make it easier for noobs like me to understand which one to download.
I thought that the full version was for the purpose of not installing any other cabs. But It seems that I have to install each individual cabs to work.
Can some one please help me?
Can someone please tell me the differences?
And can someone please tell me how to make MP3 Trimmer show up in my programs list?
Can anyone help at all?

there's a few instances of manilla lying around, the only two I can think of you should seriously consider is itje and daran_clarke's manilla. daran should have the latest version soon that supposedly fix the lag problem in the album and some other stuff.
Full means Manila(The TouchFlo3D) + the following:

Full cab with Manila HD.
Now Includes:
Youtube
Album
Audiomanager
Taskmanager (x-button)
MhubVO (Diffrent systemfiles, drivers, mediafilters etc)
Flash3
ConcurrenceMgr (you dont need to know what it does, its just systemfiles needed by other apps)

whereas The 20M only has Manila.
I'm using the 20M version, and I noticed I could not use the Pictures and Music buttons on Manila since Album and Audiomanager are missing.
The Author also said "Touch-IT Blackstone Manila (with black clock, I also removed green highlights and the green buttons)", but I don't see that?
where can i get the full manilla the latest version? i couldnt find it.
if u can post the link here pls.
thanks

Okay, so searching through this forum has been a tedious and long task. I've found a lot of useful apps and a lot of not so useful apps. I've compiled a list of the apps that I found useful and I use most of them daily. I've added links and descriptions. I also have enough knowledge of these apps to answer questions, so feel free to ask me any. I had a detailed description, but I decided that took too much work. Please if you have questions about anything in here, feel free to ask and I'll explain as best as I can and post the url of the original post/thread/site.

Reminder: None of these apps are mine, nor I claim that they are my work. If you are the author of any of these programs, tweaks, skins, or roms and you don't want your work here, PM me and I shall take it off.
The Radios, Roms, and Splash screens are for the Touch Pro ONLY!! IT IS NOT MY FAULT IF YOU BRICK YOUR DEVICE!
EDIT: Now, I've split it up for people The Apps, Games, and skins are in one archive and the roms, radios, and splash screens are in the other.

I use a lot of those, and I've retired quite a few of them as well. All in all a good list, but a bit too much fluff. I've found myself using about 5 or 6 apps daily with a couple others here and there, but never more than 10-12 DIFFERENT apps over the course of the week for REGULAR usage, so I deleted most of the 'iphone' crap and stuck with the power user apps.
True. But I use most of them on a regular basis I mean it may not be heavy usage of everything, but like ChangeScreen is used constantly, so are apps like cleanRAM, G-Alarm, G-Profile, etc.
The awesome thing about winmo is that everyone's is different. I use my phone completely differently from anyone else I know. Just today, as I was sitting there using Remote Desktop, Listening to Digitally Imported's Live stream of Armen van Buren's 400th A state Of Trance show in Kinoma Play @ 128k, twittering, checking my email, talking to a friend over Palringo and uploading photos to facebook... I realized....
I'm sick. hahaha
Great Idea
Hello Kraize
What you did was great and will save many people so much time and effort.
In effect you've done a "Cab Encyclopedia". Your work will give each individual user the opportunity to test and fine tune the apps they need.
Great work.
Aussie
Thanks...
Very useful information you have compiled.

Glad somebody found it useful This is actually my whole cab folder on my sd card I just found links and wrote descriptions which took about an hour or two. Thought it might help out people from looking at these massive forums. I update my cabs every week or so, so if people really like my idea, I'll keep updating the link every week or so.
Maybe you can call the thread "Cab Central"
Nice contribution Kraize....

If anyone does not want their work here, please kindly let me know and I shall take it off. I have not modified any of the cabs in anyway. They contain no viruses AFAIK and are all safe and will work on a VGA device. Some apps are G-sensor oriented and will only work on the HTC Diamond or the HTC Touch Pro/Raphael/Fuze, and maybe the Touch HD because mostly all of the apps are VGA resolution. I accept no responsibility for any damage to your device.

Nope. ChangeScreen does not have that problem. I tried both in landscape and portrait, but mainly, I let CProg only stay in portrait.

I just tried ... the problem still exist !
I m using Nataly 2.1 ROM , with Touch PRO phone canvas
To reproduce the problem.
1: turn of touch FLO in today
2: enable rotate screen on changescreen in default to make it landscape all the time
3: then use another phone to call the diamond.
4: sound only and incoming call screen doesnt pop up.
I use it in landscape mode ONLY when i use it in the car , for music / GPS / handsfree
PS. Your list is just SO cool! I ll try a few more s/w , thanks
very impressive list ^^
I got some more new apps that I'm experimenting with! I'll post them up in a couple days or so if I find they are worth it.
very nice! thanks a lot, I found some new stuff to try out.
Thanks m8, good idea !
Thanks man, great list!

Hey Kraize,
thanks for this nice collection.I took the liberty of uploading it to my server as a mirror, because this megaupload thing was driving me nuts (~25 KB/s).
Hope that´s ok for you. If not, just give me a PM or post here, and i´ll take it offline right away.

Thx so much, Great collection.

Hope it is OK with Kraize !
Kraize, when will you "release" a new package of cabs?
Is it possible to have animated wallpaper on the TF3D home screen? If so, where's the best source of these? Thanks.
Guess it can't be done then...
It cannot be done as even with apng once it is converted to manila file it will lose its animations... not only that the device would not support it anyway. And .gif is not possible atm to convert to manila.

Ok. Many thanks for the reply. It's a pity - you could on my crappy W910i!
Animated backgrounds
I was curious about this as well.. I have actually seen a video of them in action. And my TP2 even has a option to turn them on. But... no one ever includes them in a ROM release's? Please someone set me straight. I know they are out there and work! No one ever talks about them though. Whats the low down?
Matt
in the LEO roms by NRGZ28 are some animated wallpapers to choose from, at least in the release of 23/09.
Manila 2.5 from HTC Leo supports animated Wallpaper, I tried it out on Friday! It#s really cool to look on it but it seems to use more battery! :-/
hey there
first i am sorry if this posting is against the forum rules, i do hope that it is not however.
here is my idea:
The Toch HD seems to be running much faster without any wallpaper. E.g. when the background of Manila is just black an there is no wallpaper at all, it scrolls more fluently.
so, is there any way to completely disable all the wallpapers in manila 2.5? in my case, i got the energy rom which sets wallpapers for all tabs by default, can i disable this?
i think we would get a nice performance boost.
regards, burobernd
p.s: no just taking a black picture file wont do the trick ..
x2
is there a cab to disable the wallpaper in home screen of Sense 2.5?
Bguards
Hello, do you mean when you use the standard wallpaper of manila?
I've one Idea. You could use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511
With this programm you integrate a custom Wallpaper in Manila like its the standard wallpaper. So the wallpaper is a Manila file and not a jpg oder so...
Hope it helps

not using standard wallpaper nor installing cab created with HDWall, just remove all wallpapers in registry HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila, it would be obviously faster within manila 2.5.
Yes right but i have something to say... where are we going ? We need more and more Speed and often we want thinks from our Blackstone that he just CANT handle LOL my point is okay we can do many things for faster Manila so now we will remove all wallpapers and the phone will be with blank black screen ok.. so also we can CFC edit the manila images to make them alot more light but of course this will cause they to be not the best quality and the manila will be even faster.. then if we want we even can remove totaly some of the tabs and the Manila wil be more faster.. and alot other tweaks like this.. But my question is What we doing exactly? To be honest i prefer my device to be more slow but to look good and i to feel good when im playing with it.. so you spend alot of money for this device and on the final you even can`t have a wallpapr? LOL if someone need so Much Speed can buy Leo or Nexus One witch i think is the better choice right now..
We can make many many tweaks to have faster Interface but we will lose the quality and the beauty of that Interface
tsalta, this is a very interesting thought you have.
however, i see it differently: with all those shortcuts and weather icon and stuff on the homescreen, i think there are already enough (maybe even too much) items on it.
so, effectively, when setting a colorful wallpapers, the screen gets all messy which i dont like at all: no wallpaper at all allows me to have the clean and professional look i want to have, and yield a little bit of speed.
it is true that we should not pretend to have a leo with a 1ghz processor in it, so manila 2.5 might be a questionable choice. but, as it happens, the majority does want it on their phones, and then so be it. if they prefer a wallpaperless manila 2.5 to a wallpapered manila 2.1, that's legit!
and one last thing: i for my part didn't chose manila 2.5 because of the fancy homescreen but because of the many tiny fixes and enhancements in all the other tabs.
but as i said, you are right if you say that some roms are just loaded with fancy stuff that might run well on a leo, but not on our blackstone.
cheers
Yes yes it's just personal preference for speed or for eye candy. That's why many people are still using winmo 6.1 and many people are using energy's ROM. Thanks for the chefs here we get plenty of choices to balance our need
Actually it's kinda out of topic in the ROM development forum
MOD EDIT - Feel this thread is more suited in General discussion forum
