Is it possible to use a Wizard as a bluetooth keyboard and/or touchpad?
My last phone was a S/E K700i. It can be used as a HID device. The joystick replaces a mouse (with right and left mouse buttons). Because of the small keyboard profiles are used to control specific applications like Winamp, Powerpoint, WMP or even Counterstrike. I doubt that many people used this feature?! I loved it! It was great for showing powerpoint presentations or controling Winamp.
A HTC Wizard could do the same job much better. It could be used as a real keyboard (not just a few keys with shortcuts for special aplications). You could even write your text with other PocketPC input methods. And the screen would be the perfect mouse/touchpad.
The MS BT stack for WM5 has a HID profile, right?! Is it only the server part to connect HID devices like mice and keyboards or is the client part also includet?
This would make the HTC Wizard the ultimate remote control for a Home Cinema PC!!!
Is there noone else who wants this feature?
Profiles to control applicatins without using a monitor would be no problem. You just need a small program with a nice gui on your PPC that writes the needed shortcuts to the keyboard-buffer. If the corresponding application is started on the pc (and has the focus) everthing would be fine!
You would not need programs like Vinyl (not working with my Wizard) or iRemote. They have more features but they are only for WinAmp. Profiles on a Wizard could be used for any application with keyboard control.
I would love to control my home cinema or my presentations on my laptop with my Wizard. Anyone has already found the way to do it?

Try to use zRemote. It displays desktop screen on my Wizard... But it works via ActiveSync (BT works fine).
I have SE K700 and I can control my Wizard with HID profile on phone

Hello,
I'm building a NanoITX pc into a nice small package and I'm looking to use my old XDA IIs as a screen. As it has its own power, touch screen etc. it would be ideal as a monitor.
Is there any way that I can use my XDA as a screen either by USB or Bluetooth?
Thanks
You could try using Remote Desktop?
Innobec Side Window is what you want!
Thanks! Side Window is just what I need! Works great with my XDA.
Shame it doesn't work with my Orbit
you can try some vnc flavours run the server on your pc and get a
pocketpc client to remote the pc
I would suggest using Pebbles Shortcutter to create some buttons for some functions you would like to use as a Remote Control and use a regular screen. You can end up setting a home media center using a programmable and universan remote control.
This is one of my plans..
is there a window mobile version one of the iphone's touchpad app. basically u turn your phone into a touchpad to control your computer cursor.

I need help in finding an application I use to have.
I have an HTC Wizard w/wm5.
The app lets you use the keyboard on the computer to type messages on your wizard.
Any help?
Thanks in advance....
randy-
You mean 'using a PC keyboard directly on the Wizard' or 'sending messages using the Wizard through the PC' ?
For the first, you should look for Bluetooth keyboards.
For the second, check this. It enables you to type in PC directly on Wizard's screen, like a SIP.
Cheers
the best app i found is my mobiler from mymobiler.com its free and puts your phone screen on your desktop so you can use your mouse and keyboard to control it
Hello
I am able to connect to my PC via the htc remote desktop application.
How do I stop it logging out the current user? This happens even when logging on with the same account.
I am trying to use my phone as a PC mouse to open file videos etc, so need to see the desktop at the same time on my phone.
Does anyone have a better way of doing this. I have tried logmein but this website does not allow me to select anything using the touch screen, although I can view the desktop fine.
Thanks
It's not possible to see on both with remote desktop.
You should look into VNC. Or if you don't need to have the screen on the phone but just mouse/keyboard controls there's G-Remote.
You could also try logmein.com - it is great!
ADC
I use Mocha VNC.
You can try the following website, this shows how to allow concurrent remote desktop sessions, it is geared towards windows 7 but its a start...

Also, that method doesn't let you see the same desktop on the phone as on the pc, , , both are logged on, yes, and (example) files saved to the desktop will both be seen, however one wouldn't see the same windows media player as the other, and indeed you would have trouble with both logins running (some of) the same program together.
I know this because i have both vista and win7 installs that have had concurrent logins enabled, which I didfor exactly the same reason as OP, heh, it didn't work. Hah.
Something like the "Logitech Touch Mouse" app for the iTouch/Phone would be cool on a Windows Mobile platform.
More info about it http://www.geek.com/articles/mobile/control-your-pc-with-the-logitech-touch-mouse-iphone-app-2010021/
When I'm in bed, I'd like to be able to control my PC with my phone as if it were a TV remote controller or in other words a wireless mouse+keyboard.

It's exactly it, plus a lot more like g-sensor support, direct media player control, etc. Search for it on here.
Hi all, first-time poster here, although long-time admirer of the excellent work that goes on here.
This thread has compelled me to post as a winmo version of this "Logitech Touch Mouse" app would be a really handy to control my media pc at home, as well as the Skype conferencing machine at work in place of the bulky and ugly wireless keyboard we currently use.
