Using the HTC Wizard as a Bluetooth HID device - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Is it possible to use a Wizard as a bluetooth keyboard and/or touchpad?
My last phone was a S/E K700i. It can be used as a HID device. The joystick replaces a mouse (with right and left mouse buttons). Because of the small keyboard profiles are used to control specific applications like Winamp, Powerpoint, WMP or even Counterstrike. I doubt that many people used this feature?! I loved it! It was great for showing powerpoint presentations or controling Winamp.
A HTC Wizard could do the same job much better. It could be used as a real keyboard (not just a few keys with shortcuts for special aplications). You could even write your text with other PocketPC input methods. And the screen would be the perfect mouse/touchpad.
The MS BT stack for WM5 has a HID profile, right?! Is it only the server part to connect HID devices like mice and keyboards or is the client part also includet?
This would make the HTC Wizard the ultimate remote control for a Home Cinema PC!!!
Is there noone else who wants this feature?

Profiles to control applicatins without using a monitor would be no problem. You just need a small program with a nice gui on your PPC that writes the needed shortcuts to the keyboard-buffer. If the corresponding application is started on the pc (and has the focus) everthing would be fine!
You would not need programs like Vinyl (not working with my Wizard) or iRemote. They have more features but they are only for WinAmp. Profiles on a Wizard could be used for any application with keyboard control.

I would love to control my home cinema or my presentations on my laptop with my Wizard. Anyone has already found the way to do it?

Try to use zRemote. It displays desktop screen on my Wizard... But it works via ActiveSync (BT works fine).
I have SE K700 and I can control my Wizard with HID profile on phone

Software Bluetooth HID keyboard for winmob?

Hi
Does there exist something like http://www.mulliner.org/bluetooth/xkbdbthid.php for Windows Mobile?
The Windows Remote Desktop client for the Nokia 770 (lovely 800x480 screen!) requires use of an external BT keyboard, and since I already carry my HTC Hermes with me, and the Nokia depends on it for GPRS Internet access, it makes sense to use /it/ as the keyboard. Is this possible?
Google has only turned up physical folding keyboards, or replacements for MS's own on-screen keyboard (for use in WM only)
Cheers,
Gavin.
push!
I'm searching for exactly the same thing, does anybody know something like this?
regards
for now this is the solution which is the closest by far:
anyRemote
otherwise tuxmobil.org has some programs listed, but nothing really compareable to xkbd-bthid. sadly.
Any luck for this software?
I am coming from SE K800i which included a wonderful bluetooth HID remote control that was so much customizible... and having something similar on a WinMo (SE X1) will be great...
it looks like MobileRemote from mobilesrc

This is what I would like to do.

I seen this at Mobility site and I would really like to do this with my TyTN.
http://mobilitysite.com/2008/02/touchpad-for-iphone/
Any suggestions?
No quite the same thing, but have you tried logmein or gotomypc?
http://www.logmein.com/
Are there any actual applications, like a vnc viewer or perferably one that would work directly with windows remote desktop?
salling clicker
This is the program you want.
http://salling.com/Clicker/windows/
It's awesome, i use it to control both winamp and WMP when I'm out on my deck listening to tunes. It connects to the pc via bluetooth, using scrpts it can control a bunch of programs, it has the ability to control the mouse etc. Check it out, I really think it what you are looking for.
I have tried salling clicker before and it's not quite what I am looking for. I am looking for just a simple app that lets me use the touchscreen of my TyTN as a mouse via bluetooth connection.
Salling clicker does enable you to do just that including right mouse button, double clicking and dragging.

I have not tried Salling clicker in some time so I will give it another go.
Thanks

How about pebbles? (http://www.pebbles.hcii.cmu.edu/)
It has an application that even shows your computers screen! I used it for a little while. It does it's work fine. ShortCutter is even greater, you create your own controls to control anything!

ppc as a desktop/laptop trackpad ?

it is just an idea. i thought it would be easier than the classic "tv remote softwares on ppc" for certain uses like net browsing.
-> would it be possible (usefull or not is another problem) to use the tactile screen of a PPC as a laptop pc trackpad to remotely controll (by wifi or internet i guess) the mouse cursor on a desktop pc or a home cinema pc or ... ?
is there a software for this ? something more specific than a tweaked VNC config ?
(and yes i know they sell wireless mouse anywhere lol)
or for the wii?
like bluetooth keyboard for the wii, or to emulate a wiimote?
Thats a really interesting idea.......
it would be great for artists who don't have tablets - you could just draw on your ppc screen with the stylus (when the ppc is displaying the computer) and if it acted as a mouse it would be like pen&paper which is much more accurate than trying to draw something with the mouse (like in paint).
hey guys...
maybe You should try this:

The Best Xperia BT Remote Control Software

What is in your experience the best BT remote control software available for Xperia? Im looking for something similar to SE k800 feature for remote controlling of PC (Powerpoint, mouse control, media player control) without installing any server component on PC... Only using BT HID!!!

Mobile remote is awesome. I have used since it was out and decided to buy it right away.
It connects to my pc in about 2 seconds and I can start using it right away. I love not having to get up to pause my media player .
I can't believe that haven't provide this asROM incorporated application... If K800i have it.. why X1 doesn't....
Is there any free app of this sort.. that support BT HID protocol?

By the way, comparing the K800i to the Xperia is like comparing apples and pears
Just tried Mobileremote - seems to be a bit screwy landscape/portrait are reversed and the hardware keyboard has permanent numlock on when used on X1
still just about usable though
You're right... but on my old K800i BT HID protocol worked for free... and perfectly well ..

Coming to Windows Mobile after being a longstanding Sony Ericsson feature phone user, it's really surprised me how truly COMPLETE the SE ui was! It had SO many great tools built right in that Windows Mobile even struggles with, and it's a smartphone OS! I could be happy if they just made the SE A200 interface touch-enabled (a nice qwerty maybe ), because I miss so many nicely implemented features they had!
i would suggest using this:
http://www.jaylee.org/RemoteControl/
it's free and it let's you control most media applications and what's cool about is it that it allows you to use the x1 touchscreen as a touchpad of a notebook computer to control the mouse pointer and tap to left click. unfortunately it cannot right-click. it doesn't accurately input the proper characters either while using the physical keyboard, but the onscreen keyboard works just fine with it.

Bluetooth Media Remote Control??

I know there are more than a few threads about this specific topic, but most of them are outdated, and none fits this purpose.
I have an WM 6.5 updated Rhodium, which I would like to use as an multimedia remote for my Windows 7 PC....
What I want in a remote control
Uses touchscreen (and possibly g-sensor)
Can control WMP, VLC, PowerPoint, and maybe Media Center
Uses bluetooth
As far as possible, a touch-friendly interface
Tried Programs
BT Remote Control (by Jérôme LABAN)
http://www.jaylee.org/RemoteControl/
Great remote, used it alot on my old TyTN II.... but! It doesen't support the touchscreen, which means you have to use the keyboard every time... If this app had proper touchscreen support, it would be perfect. Unfortunately the last update is from March 2008, and it doesen't seem he updates anymore...
GRemote
Gremote homepage
Seems cool, especially the thing about using g-sensor for joystick. Unfortunately, the installation doesn't work for me. I do not know if it is Windows 7, my phone (didn't work on 6.1 either), or the program itself that is malfunctioning. I cannot get proper connection, and the client is stalling... alot.
Are there any other alternatives?
