Okay Problem solved(I think) In the middle of of the phone bootlooping I held down the power button and the trackball, which put the phone in safe mode. From there I went to the settings/manage applications and uninstalled the problem child So far so good.
Oh man I should've read the post seconds earlier...I was freaking out in the boot loop then removed the widget then the app asap...Now I'm back to 3.6 (the new one is 3.7) and things are cool again now...
+1 for the bootloop. I just got a replacement N1 from HTC and thought I'd got another lemon

I tried to restore from backup but the fuxoring market then re-downloaded stuff in the queue and I got into the boot loop.
Doesn't happen if you install from scratch after a wipe.

I just recently noticed that my phone has a 100% awake time and I cannot find a reason why. The partial wake lock function in spare parts says nothing is keeping it awake for a long period of time... USB charging does not allow the phone to sleep.
I rebooted my phone right after i took it off the charger this morning and monitered it throughout the day and it still was 100%...
Kind of a silly question, but have your recently installed any new apps? I know that my Facebook for Android keeps my phone awake quite a bit. In fact, I think I'm about to uninstall it if it still keeps it awake after I remove the widget. Anyone else have that problem with Facebook? Not to hijack.
Did you look in Spare Parts for the total times on Partial Usage?

it says it keeps it awake for a little but not that much I'll try removing that widget and see if it helps
It's not the widget. SOME Fresh ROM users see the same thing when they first flash the new kernel. A reboot fixed it for most.
if all else fails, backup your apps/sms and RUU/root/reinstall rom/restore
try removing the htclocationservice apk. my friend had this problem and thats how we fixed it.
rm HtcLocationService.apk in /system/app
you dont need it btw, android has its own.

after doing a factory reset of my phone the awake time went down on my phone, this means it has to be an app or widget correct?

It could have been an app or widget, but it could have been a number of things other then that. Start adding your apps back 1 by 1 and see if they affect your wake time. I like i said earlier, we were able to fix it by the location service alone.

Hi!
Is it just me or why is my Twitter not upated as soon as a new twitt is written.
I have made a small test and when i write something on my PC's twitter it takes a while before i can see it on my HD2. How come?
Get the TouchTwit app. It's like $2, and I've found it to be way more useful and prompt than the included Peep program. Not perfect, but better.

I've the same problem, in the settings I've set the update to every 15 minutes, but I have always update it manually. When I wake up in the morning I always see that the last update was around midnight and that update was done by myself.

Then we have a new problem/bug for them to fix....
My guess is that we're never going to see any fix for our problems now when there's new models out on the market that needs fixing as well But i read a thread about the U.S model have had a new ROM that fixed every problem the old one had... I'm glad for them and are hoping that the rest of the world can expect the same treatment.
Not any fix atm?
have no idea, think its something wrong with the program.... hope they update it someday
Hi, once I got my HTC Hero yest, I did a software update automatically on the way home. Do I have the lastest update to my phone? I notice that I have a hard time pressing the "+ new message" for SMS, it does not do anything. Or even then I want to add a widget to the screen, I have a hard time pressing the widget icon, but no issues pressing Program, shortcuts, and folder, just the top most selection.
Same thing happens where It doesnt do anything when pressing the + icon to add a company for the HTC stocks widget
Is there a way to calabrate the screen?

Man, you really should just spend a week or so messing with your phone instead of cluttering up the general section with questions that have all been answered or are easily answered by reading the guide that came with your phone. Not trying to be a ****, but Ive seen u start several threads here in the wrong section. Please use the search finction on the sight, and the user manual for your phone.

The software version that was on my sons hero I just rooted was
2.32.651.7 .Android version 2.1 update 1 . He got that update done at a Sprint store but the system update option under settings should give it to ya. His ran pretty smooth.
I had this update come up on Monday. It stuck on 43% and I had to restart to get rid of it.
Today, had the same one again and was stuck on 55%. Again I had to restart to get rid of it. Tapping the X would only get rid of the pull down, tapping on the update did nothing to show what it was.
Anyone know what it is? Anyone else had it?

you welcome
There's a new update on the Play Store for the stock Google Phone app. And man they killed one thing I LOVED the most about it, the swipe to the different panels. I would always swipe left to my Favorites, or swipe right to the Contacts, or further swipe to the Voicemail. It was so smooth and fast, to just swipe from anywhere on the screen.
Now it's been moved to the bottom of the screen, no more swiping, now you need to tap on which panel you want. Which to me takes even longer now, and is not as fast and smooth as before.
I have been using the stock Google or ASOP Phone app for years, probably 8 years or so. This change is no bueno.
It was probably done for the benefit of those with phones that had less than quality touch screens and might have activated swipes unintentionally.
I dont mind though.
Oh man. Just go the update, too. I hate it that I can't swipe. In what weird direction is Google moving? I don't get it. They keep removing great features or replacing them with things nobody asked for or things completely out of touch with users.
The argument of the guy above me is kinda invalid. Even the worst digitizer + SoC combo will be able to do a simple swipe. I don't buy that argument, whoever came up with it. Even if they did not. In what world is an inferior, low end device getting a recent Android version on which the latest phone app is available?
Thank god apk mirror exists. AFAIK 18.0.187698947 is the latest and last one with swipe enabled.

I take it you're saying the May security update is when your phone app broke, right? If that's the case, you can try flashing the May factory image after removing -w from the batch file. That 'should' rewrite the phone app, but I am not 100% sure it will. If not, a factory reset/reflash with wipe command left in batch file might be necessary unless someone else has an idea.
Maybe try an earlier version apk from apkmirror.com

Cool! Good to know you didn't have to do a reset.
Based on the layouts for their new apps like the pixel 2 launcher or chrome beta, it looks like they are making apps easier to navigate with one hand by placing things towards the bottom of the screen. Seems easier to navigate than having to reach to the top of the screen in the prior version.
