+1 on this. I had the Palm Pre but was unsatisfied with it because of hardware but this would be cool.

it'd be nice, but i'd say don't count on it. it'd take a lot of people and a lot of time to get webOS on our heros. i'm sure it's possible since they both run on a Linux kernel, but nobody's probably gonna do it.

what I would like to see is webOS style multitasking clone for android. They have it for jailbroken iPhones (proswitcher) I'd like to see something similar for android. The interface of the bookmarks in the internet browser would be ideal for this type of interface.
Any programmers willing to take up something of this nature? I would love to do it, but I know absolutely nothing about programming.
never used proswticher on my iphone i run multiflow does the job damn good but im getting tired of my stupid iphone cant wait for at&t to get an android soon enough

wow, hold ur horses. Doing it is not only hard, it's impossible
we can't get android to run correctly on hero, don't count on another OS running on it, specially one that isn't open source. Yes webOS is based on an open source OS but it's more closed than open.
Also you would have to write "drivers" for the phone custom made to work with the hero.
the only way this will work is if you get Palm and htc to work together, which is impossible.
Yeah, I had the Pre but hated the way it felt in my hand and the slider. The Pre is like a crappy plastic nugget. But webOS is nice, and android DOES have multitasking already. You long press the home button and it shows you currently running apps. Click on one to get back to what you were doing.
You know, porting webOS is actually impossible. We can, though, make a theme that is heavily skinned to look like WebOS.

No - it shows you apps that have recently been run, not necessarily what is currently running! For the most part, it's the same thing, but there is a subtle distinction.
profete162 has written a pretty good task switcher, TaskOS, which is available on the market.

However, if an app is coded for multi-tasking, it is available.
Example: Google Maps w/ Nav giving directions while browsing the web.
@foxmeister- Just downloaded and tried this taskOS, it technically does have a GUI for actual multitasking of currently running apps, but it's not much more than a GUI replacement of longpress of home.... it is not what I'm suggesting but thanks for the suggestion
@everyone else- If you've used webOS you will know what I'm talking about. If you haven't used webOS there are plenty of videos on youtube to look at to get the general idea of how it multitasks which is where it excells.
Open a web browser, press menu>bookmarks and look, finger scrollable preview windows of webpages, now in your head replace that with preview windows of currently running processes... add the ability to swipe + drag a process down to bring to foreground or up to kill that particular process. Very fluid, very easy, very natural.
Very intuitive idea and well executed in webOS. I would love to see a general port of this function added to android in form of an app or possibly a homescreen replacement, most ideal would be replace the worthless "add to homescreen button" on the senceUI dock, as longpress on the homescreen is another way to do exactly the same thing. Shade out your homescreen and put these previews over the top of your homescreen, drag in a direction as mentioned above, or hit the "add to homescreen button" agian to return to your homescreen.
I will make a bounty of $50 USD (a fair amount IMO) to anyone who makes it exactly as I describe... guaranteed to be a killer app and in no way infringing on webOS patents, as it's only replicating a function provided inside webOS similar to their "synergy" that android has copied almost bit for bit in idea.
also after all designing and beta testing is complete ... you put it out on the market you will be getting even more money, pm me if interested and details on the bounty I am offering.

I'm not saying Android doesn't multi-task- it patently does! I'm saying that the "tasks" listed in the home "long press" are not necessarily running!
For example, if I run Spotify and then exit out, it will still appear in the list when you long press home.
Ergo - home long press is not a task switcher, but a quick launcher to recently run applications.

Beari in mind you have the ability to kill the task directly from TaskOS by dragging the icon up, much like WebOS.

Ok, I know I'm jumping the gun, but I thought this would be a good idea. We'll need somewhere to list and discuss apps for the Evo. I know discussions will go far beyond this thread, but a place to compile a list and links to download or for instructions or to troubleshoot and so on and so forth will be handy.
I'm not sure what I'm doing, but it appears the size of posts is limited and from what I've seen the thing to do is to reserve some space at the beginning of the thread to make helpful information throughout the thread easily accessible at the beginning so I'm going to reserve some space if I can.
Advice is welcome. Please offer advice. If I choke (and embarass myself) and end up not getting an Evo (not likely as I think I want it more than sex) or fail to keep the thread updated I'm gessing we have other options like an administrator letting someone else edit my posts or moving info to a better thread or something.
I'm thinking this could get to be a huge thread so I think I'll reserve 3 more posts. If that's too many I guess they can be deleted. If we need more can an administrator insert them? If you have ideas on how we should structure this please speak up.
Since I'm jumping the gun I guess the place to start is with what we think it will come loaded with and what we want it to come with. Eventually we'll just list what's available for the Evo.
I've never done this and may prove to be unreliable and considered just making this a suggestion so if anyone is experienced and gung-ho about it and wants to take over right now feel free to step up.

Should I request deleting? I've never used Android so I seriously am looking for help finding, installing, and getting through issues. I know there are other clueless people like me also so why not make a one stop shop for the apps this phone can use.
One thing I think I may have just realized is where to get apps. I'm a winmo user and I think I've only bought one app and never understood why anyone needed Marketplace. I've downloaded apps from all over the internet and never even been to Marketplace. Are all (or most, or what) Android apps at android.com? I read there were like 30,000 android apps, but haven't seen them. I figured a market was an iphone thing.
Some of the best threads I've read were very well organized and were updated to make info easy to find. Some threads look promising, but get really long and you never know when you'll find what you're actually looking for. Maybe I just don't search well, but often what I think is a good search produces unsatifying results. This site is huge now and very difficult to search.
I really would love input from senior members and would like to know as much as possible before I get this phone. I have actually been worried about switching over to Android, but the new hardware and network seem too good(not to mention the new windows direction). I've heard good stuff about Android, but just don't understand it.
I'm worried about being stuck with just 5 or 7 screens. I know windows has to use apps to get it's multiple screens (UL, ilaunch, claunch...), but I haven't heard of anythig like that with Android. I've settled into touchflo and really like using the slider rather than flicking like I did with UL (especially multiple times to get where I want).
I'm under the impression the Android screens are customizable in that you can use shortcuts or widgets, but I'd like to have several full screen widgets (more than 6) and a launcher and a home screen with more info (even more than touchflo/sense on winmo). Is there anything like that?
Please tell me (and other untechies) about Android. Don't be a johnson. Sorry, couldn't pass that up.

You can customize like there's no tomorrow, makes winmo look like a gimped iphone in that respect. You can change basically every aspect of everything if you look hard enough.
Touchflow is senceUI... senceUI is touchflow... same exact thing. If you don't like your senceUI (what will come with the evo), you can do the vanillia android home if you want, or enjoy one of the many many homescreen replacements, of which there is about a thousand different themes for icons menus screens title bars etc etc etc etc etc.

the apps don't run on the 5-7 screens, they're separate and "unlimited" based off of available ram, if you use up resources it closes the one android feels you aren't useing anymore to free up ram for your running app. It isn't as bad as it sounds in practical use, you won't notice it closing stuff in the background, the screens are only for widgets like in the video.
Like I said, customize your heart out. You don't have to be a rocket surgeon either, download a app, maybe a buck or two and go to town. There's free options, but it's not paying some big fruit company it's going into the developer's pockets so give them a buck if you like it. I have never paid over a dollar for any app I buy... and I have like 20 I felt the need to pay for. Small change in comparison to what I pay each month to use the phone... or what I paid for the phone in the first place.
Compare to a desktop or laptop and the amount of usage for a paid app... much better ratio of fun for price.

Most legit apps can be found in the Marketplace, both free and for $$. Off and on, you may see someone post up an app here that they're working on, but the eventual goal is to get it in the Marketplace for the most part. It seems that you went looking for Moby ****, and only found a white whale!

Anyone know of anything like Totalremote from Griffin that can use the sound to ir converter for phones without an ir port?
I bought Totalremote with the converter off ebay to experiment with on my Mogul, but can't get it to work (it works on my ipaq). The Mogul just has no universal remote solution (unless I can get the ipod method from Engadget working, for which I'll have to get a male 3.5mm to male 3.5mm cord one of these days).
Since I have the converter I'm hoping there will end up being an Android version of Totalremote. I'm very hopefull since iphone is doing one using the headphone jack and since for some reason HTC has moved their jack to the top of the phone (makes you wonder).

i compiled this list by simply sliding through my app drawer, but didnt even think; the fact is, with the latest 2.1 builds theres litterally NO i.s., so i do my best to keep my app download-age as low as possible. theres actually alot of apps i download, install, use, then uninstall. a fun game you can check out it What The Doodle?! online multiplayer...draw on screen your keyword, people try to guess. I cant remember the name of the other game...Attack!! or somethig. your a cow and you tilt the phone to jump from platform to platform (like teeter, but with a cow, and the final destination is a spaceship)
i expect with the evo i.s. wont be an issue (1g?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!?!?!?) so maybe ill update the list as i feel the need to remember a long lost app and redownload it.
Who is switching over to Windows Phone 7 if Gingerbread is not what it is hyped up to be. (No new UI, broken features, market not fixed up... ect.)
If Google doesn't fix it up. I prefer a polished, fully working OS compared to a bunch of ROM's that each have their own features, and no one ROM has all the features in one.
Windows Phone 7 will integrate with Windows 7-8, Xbox 360, home servers, and will have Xbox Live marketplace support. I find all this integration a huge feature that will probably bring me over. Microsoft is also said to be creating their own cloud for WP7, Skydrive, and if all Microsoft system's have Xbox Marketplace, why wouldn't Windows 7?
I love tight integration and the ability to share with ease. I find Android takes a while at moment to do simple things, like search the market for that one great app, or have a music player that is feature packed and has the ability to share with desktop speakers.
I am waiting for gingerbread, then i will make my decision...unless it has a MAJOR UI rework, some serious gaming capabilities, new media player ecc. I'm switching to WP7...
very sad to see snapdragon wp7 devices running cool ui and games with advanced graphics while our nexus can't because of generic drivers and fragmentation of hardware platforms in the Android panorama...it's like consoles vs pc's
consoles: you do what sony or nintendo or MS decide you can do, but code is fully optimized and developed for that platform, meaning better performance, no waste of power
pc: you can do what you want but code isn't optimized because of the infinite hardware configurations, so you need more power to run same games.
Completely agree with you. I am against Apple's policy for the iPhone, but WP7 is in between Android and iOS. It hits the sweet spot IMO.
If you want to talk about PC OS's though, I have OSX running on my Windows Gaming PC, so it is technically more open then to just their systems. That why I like it too.

In my opinion Google has shown that are willing to give their users more value with free toy's that really help out in everyday life (Google Voice, Google Maps Navigation, Tethering etc) that other giants like Microsoft and Apple just don't seem to care about. This lets me know that Google really cares about bringing value to their customers rather than just selling them a phone and wanting to make more money and so I can trust Google to continue to do this in the future much more than I could with Microsoft.
Also it seems from your 1st post that your main argument for switching is xBox integration wheareas I could care less about that... I don't have an xBox

Yep, and the market is terrible. Allowing developers to put permissions on their apps that make no sense whatsoever, and change them in updates.
I want a phonr I don't have to load up with apps, and an os that doesn't let everything run as a service. I'm about to factory reset again because my phone cannot sit idle for 6 hours without dying from a full charge, and I've pretty much uninstalled all my apps, lol.
Not even funny. Worst mobile platform I've used - ever.

Why get an iOS device for gamecenter if you don't have a mac? Etc. It's just a dumb, rhetorical question, especially coming from an android user, who can do nothing but wish this platform had decent games, neverming anything comparable to gamecenter or xbl.
WP7 games go not require an xbox. Xbox integration is perk, not a requirement. Ciao!

Maybe the second generation, but really the wp7 phones that are coming are unfinished. It is missing so many features.
I believe they shouldn't release wp7 yet, but I can see the want to make money while they finish developing. But releasing it unfinished will prob put a bad taste in peoples mouth's and turn out bad for what could be a decent platform

I'm mentioning it because for anyone who has actually used Bing's voice guided navigation like I have, it really pales in comparison to Google's more polished product:
- Doesn't work when screen is turned off to save battery / less heat like Google Maps Navigation does
- Doesn't turn off music when saying directions so you can't hear the directions over your music like Google Maps Navigation does
- Doesn't give you alternative route options to avoid traffic like Google Maps Navigation does
- Doesn't give a 3d point of view like Google Maps Navigation does

After getting used to the ability to fully customize our phones, I don't think I could make the switch to wp7. Just the lack of homescreen customization is enough for me to reconsider. Unless they allow for different launchers, it will not do.

You mean the missing copy and paste in Android? It is a shame that Google has been unable to fix that even in 2.2.1.
How anybody can create a mobile OS in 2010 without copy and paste is beyond me, especially if they just have to copy Apple's copy and paste which works really well.

I know I probably am, if Google doesn't fix it up. I prefer a polished, fully working OS compared to a bunch of ROM's that each have their own features, and no one ROM has all the features in one.
Windows Phone 7 will integrate with Windows 7-8, Xbox 360, home servers, and will have Xbox Live marketplace support. I find all this integration a huge feature that will probably bring me over. Microsoft is also said to be creating their own cloud for WP7, Skydrive, and if all Microsoft system's have Xbox Marketplace, why wouldn't Windows 7?
I love tight integration and the ability to share with ease. I find Android takes a while at moment to do simple things, like search the market for that one great app, or have a music player that is feature packed and has the ability to share with desktop speakers.

Could not have said it better myself. Android has hundreds of features but only half really work well. Until that gets fixed, less is more ... and I rather have 50 features that work well and work all the time than hundreds that don't work at all.

Lets hope Google gets their act together and makes Gingerbread a worthy competitor for Microsoft. These broken features and (5 year old) designers need to step up their game.
I left Apple for Android because it was more open, but now having used Android for almost a year, I find it's so open that it is unoptimized for super devices and low end. We have a bare looking OS with almost no animations and unused features. WP7 is the midway point, it is closed, but has a greater phone choice than Apple, while Microsoft is know for being slightly more open than Apple.

You might be better off just limiting the apps that appear on the Start Screen--e.g. Desktop, classic IE (or Firefox, Chrome etc), Explorer and so on.
Metro is the future. There's no point in upgrading to Windows 8 if you're just going to neuter it. It's not going anywhere. So, people might as well get used to it.

Apple have no problem selling Iphones though lol It's clear that windows 8 is microsofts last gasp effort to push it's mobile OS and try and catch up with Android/IOS. In my opinion for the first time ever MS have left thereselves open to serious competition on the Desktop OS market. As it stands it has no serious competition, but someone like google could quite easly decide to drop chromium OS and develop a real linux based Desktop OS. MS then could find themselves in trouble.
Before I start please know that I've been a MS fan since my first desktop running Win98 and also loved MS phones when it was called 'Windows Mobile'.
I've just installed the W8 Consumer Preview out of curiosity and the beautiful Metro UI. Now, I'm a big fan of the Metro UI but not on my desktop PC please!
I'm a gfx/web designer I spend hours on PC everyday and the whole Metro and Desktop thing going on here makes me wanna kill someone!
It's hard multitasking and not that productive either. First, I blame Facebook for the whole "share" thing going on! and finally Apple's "great" iphone for this don't ask me why. If you just connect all the dots since the iphone's release you can understand how every apple competitor tried to turn their products more simpler or iphone'ish and that's the bitter truth though I absolutely hate that piece of crap!
It's like history repeating itself. How Microsoft lost all their "Windows Mobile" customers(including me) and market share when they introduced new WP7. They went average to worse! Previous "Windows Mobile" tech savvy's or a power user like me switched to Android and rest iphones.
Clearly, that was a wrong move by MS, they took risk with something new instead of improving what they already have with the "Windows Mobile".
In present, MS wants to make WP7 successful so they're feeding their successful huge community of PC users with their touch/portable OS crap! **** I even hate the term "Apps" now!! I want the gold old "softwares" back! Using W8 on my on 20" LED screen is a waste. Since the new Metro UI doesn't allow resizing any "Apps" or I cant keep more than 2 open. It's same as using apps on my 4" Android phone! Yes, I can work on the W8 stripped down desktop UI for a while but that just steals the experience when Metro is designed as the prime UI for W8.
I can just go on with the flaws! Never used an apple's product but now I'm seriously planning on switching to a MacBook pro until they plan to kill the desktop experience too.
No, I don't care if its just a consumer preview or whatever. Previous Win OS beta builds and final builds never had huge noticeable differences. W8 looks like it was made out of frustration.
Of course I can stick to W7 but for how long ? it's gonna saturate at some point of time. W8 has changed everything including the MetroUI. Looks like MS is killing everything they created for themselves in past years even their company logo. And of course "Windows" was the biggest part of MS' success.
In future, can't imaging W9 switching back from Metro and bringing the pure desktop experience either. Right now can only hope.
This is just my assumption and opinion. Personally I'm an MS fan and never thought I'd critic MS like this.

I agree; I think the temptation to try to bundle desktop with mobile will be too strong. The problem is the explosive growth of small devices, compared to the slacking growth of PCs.
The failure oft Ms ist, Thats they direct kill the Old style Startmenu. It would habe been a Wetter way Tod implement Metro as a Kind of Background replacement in an classic environment. So you would have the free choice of your Personal experience.
But wich the current way, you Are forced To Use the experience , they want .

The basic function of the operating system are fundamentally the same. The start menus functionality is the same, it just looks different. The lost start button is replaced by a function tile in an identical place which works in the same way. The jumping in and out of the start menu is as quick as it ever was. The desktop works in the same way as it always did. Apps are on almost all platforms now.
So I guess I'm saying, I don't get you. Windows 7 will still exist, my god there are still people running vista & there were some real problems to complain about there.

My biggest peeve so far is that it seems to ditch functionality in favor of flair.
I have no problem with a beautiful UI--but Metro is, on a rather consistent basis, slowing down my workflow.
For example, open settings in Metro, and you are greeted with a side tab with a few options: Settings, Help, Network, blah blah blah, and what's this? More settings.
When you click on settings, you get the Oh-so-useful options of "Enable Admin tools" and "Clear personal data". That's it. All that's there. You select more settings, and you get a proper settings menu. So why the hell are these separate? They really, REALLY thought we needed a whole menu entry for TWO FRIGGING TOGGLES? They even thought those two options were soooooo important that they assumed that's what you were looking for in the first place, and put them up top.
And why the hell isn't there just a simple "Settings" tile in the Metro start screen? That's what I would look for first--but no, you have to hover your mouse over the bottom right corner, then mouse up and click settings, only to be asked which of the two pointless menus you'd like to access. And if you really want to do anything worthwhile with your PC's settings, you're in the completely wrong frigging place, because Microsoft had the infinite foresight to make the control panel completely separate from the settings menu.
I hate the start up screen and how it makes me grab the screen with the mouse like a touch screen to get it out of the way.
I hate how it hooks me up completely to MSN, making me log into my desktop and MSN at the same time.
I hate how unintuitive the mash of Metro and Desktop is. If you open IE from Metro and IE from the Desktop - why do they launch separate instances that don't look the same, act the same...it is pure garbage.
The list goes on and on... but lets run into the first three things I found WRONG in the first 30 seconds.
Simply avoid Metro UI as much as possible if you're using your PC for highly productive work. While Metro UI is great for entertaining, e.g. reading books, watching movies, social network etc. it simply cannot handle multiple tasks at the same time.
I don't work on Metro UI either, but now I've got used to staying with the classic UI. The only thing that's still frustrating is some great features can only be found in Metro style. Like skydrive integration, mail and people etc. I wish there were equivalent applications on classic desktop, so I don't have to switch between two interfaces from time to time.
Sorry to hear your disappointment. I actually like the Metro UI. I give MS credit for doing something different instead of re-hashing to same old user interface.
Only issue so far is jumping back and forth between Metro and old Win7 style. Nevertheless, to each his own.

Im an MS customer I don't care what other companies are inventing and what crown they're taking, I care about what I'm paying for.
And I don't think you've actually used the new W8. I'm not "whining" for excuses which are "lame" to you. I've got my facts cleared up for everyone.

bah I AM using it on my pc with kb and mouse, I don't see "the problems" , it is fast , easy to use , sure you need to learn new things, but I am sure 8 years old kid wont have problem with the new stuff. You and others like you are just whiners, Pathetic.
i never understood why almost every os had a start-menu-like button in one of its corners. it has never been user friendly, klicking and klicking and more and more "apps" Pop up it's getting confusing. that has never been intuitiv from the beginnung and just got it because we were used to it. and it was kind of stupid, why just using a small part of the screen for one of the most importing tasks: getting an app/program/software started.
i love the new Metro ui, even on the pc. and your just one click away from a Desktop-similar experience so wtf is everybody worrying about?

That's kinda hard considering how hard windows gets bundled with new computers, and how questionable the options are for getting a refund.

Because that's the general settings section for each application and not for the entire system. It saves you from searching for the settings menu for each app. So it's more integrated into the Metro-UI. It is quite convinient.

Don't buy from Dell etc. Build your own and download Ubuntu etc. I've never HAD to buy an operating system & all the companies that preinstall windows sell over priced rubbish anyway.

If your a techie, you shouldn't have any problems and you should be able to guide yourself through Android. Everything you need is in the Notification Drawer! You might have a hard time adjusting to no physical home button, but you'll get used to it. Music is just drag and drop, or it would be worth it to download Google Play Music on your computer and sync your music in the cloud. Just explore the phone the day you get it. I personally like the overall look and feel of Android more than iOS. Welcome to the best Android experience out there, a Nexus 4!!!

Any phone is better than an iPhone.
Just kidding, but seriously. don't get me wrong, iPhones are good phones, they really are. People get them cause they like them, I get androids because I like them. Spec wise, Nexus 4 blows iPhones away. IMO, Nexus 4's are way better than any of the iPhones out right now. I talked to my friends who went from iPhones to Androids, and they said the only difficulty they had was getting used to how the OS is. iPhones are simple, and straight forward. Theres not much you can change about an iPhone unless you jailbreak it. Androids are customizable right out of the box.Only problem you MIGHT face is getting used to android.

For the longest time, people compared android to iOS this way: iOS you can't customize, but it works pretty amazingly right out of the box. Android, on the other hand, can be customized to incredible levels; however, right out of the box it is not a great experience. And up till jelly bean, I agreed with this claim.
What I think changed in the last half year is that now android (jelly bean, so Nexus 4 for sure) is as amazing out of the box as iOS, with the added ability to customize the sh*t out of it if you want to.

There will be very few things you need to "learn" during transition. I think the largest one is the way system handles settings of notifications and alerts: b/c iOS uses only its own push notifications, all sound settings for all apps are done in the "settings" app. Android is a bit different- the apps keep a service running in background for themselves, and so you have to edit sound/alert settings in the apps themselves. The reward for this is that apps can have more advanced notifications with popup menus, repeated alerts etc. They will all appear in your notification drawer, but they can do more.
Music is simple drag-and-drop.
Other difference is handling of files. PDFs will first download, only then you can click on them to view them. They will be stored in the "Download" folder, accessible either via the "Downloads" app or via file manager of your choice (I recommend installing one).
If you have more apps that allow opening some file (ie, you have Adobe Reader and the built-in quickoffice viewer), when you click on a PDF (or some other supported file, even link), you will have a window allowing you to choose what program should open the given file. (don't worry, you can set defaults and not worry about it again)
I suggest you set all google maps links to default to the google maps app, not the browser. Similarly, set all youtube links to go to the youtube app, not the browser.

Welcome to the world of Android. You will really enjoy the Nexus 4. The phone is smooth as butter and the customization is fantastic. I actually replaced the standard launcher with Nova Prime launcher as it offers even more customization than the standard launcher.
if you have your iphone jailbroken, it will be easier to port to Android, have fun..
Definitely get back and let us know if you have any questions - I just held my boyfriend's hand through his iPhone to Nexus 4 transition (I give great Valentines presents!), so I'm sure some of your questions will either pop up for him or already have.

You wont regret buying and android device like the nexus 4.
IMO android is much more flexible customisable and powerful than iOS. The iOS is soo God darn easy to use because there isn't much to do in it. It has a homescreen and... Well that's pretty much it!
But android 4.0+ combines ease of use and great functionality. Once you switch to android and start using all of its features, you'll never go back.
Oh and BTW, I think the Nexus 4 looks damn sexy, looks better than an iPhone.

There was an adjustment period for him - how do I get X, where can I find apps, where is X setting.
He was a little pouty at the beginning of the process, but after a month or so, he's up and running and very happy. The main thing that he missed was a collection settings that covered all apps.

Yeah I can see how that could be a problem. However I went the other way (Android to an iPad) and was greatly dissatisfied with the super easy and noob setting of iOS.
On topic, I would suggest OP to use the phone for a couple months, before venturing into any customization options (rooting, kernels, ROMs, launchers etc). Getting used to Android could take you a while but once you get used to it your production will be greatly improved.

Yeah, I used an iPad recently and I actually found it very counter-intuitive having all of the individual app settings under the general settings app. I wanted to sign out of the email app for example but I genuinely could not find a way to do it from within the app itself, and ended up having to go to settings then manage accounts or something similar. In Android I just hit menu in any app I'm using and I can be certain that there will be some sort of settings or options button, which to me seems much more logical since if I want to change an app setting the likelihood is that I'm using that app already. Obviously the opposite will apply for users moving from iOS to Android, but I think I'm just so used to Android now that iOS simply doesn't work for me.
