ok so i put some tunes on my storage card, got bored and deleted them and put some new tunes on. i went to the music tab and it froze then crashed/reset sense. i looked here for a thread and couldnt find anything, so i dug about a bit on the phone and deleted " AUDIO MANAGER_ENG" and everything works fine now. i think it keeps a record of what music you had and tries to compare it to what you have now and causes a conflict, if anyone knows of another way, or if im wrong please correct me,

Okay, sorry that ive been posting this elsewhere but no one has gave me an answer yet. Well, since the first time i installed windows phone 7 on my hd2 my video player and zune music player do not work. I click on the music + video tile and it shows "loading" but then it will just take me back to the home screen. Ive tried restarting the device, hard resseting, and even reINSTALL the rom itself but it still does the same thing. Even when i record a video, when i click it to try and play the video it will just take me back to the home screen AGAIN. This is very frustrating as it seems im the only one with this problem Ive synced a song but theres no way of playing it because the music app does not open!!!:/ The Zune player should be working without the live services and its not:/ Has anyone experienced this or knows what to do? Please help meeee.
Wow really can someone even attempt to answer if the zune player is working for them?:/ sorry but i mean come on. Im practically beggin for this
frustration just wanna make me to get DVP right away. I guess money is good. Trying to get to cheapest way will make you die sooner.
Hello everyone, hope this is in the right place. So I recently started using slimkat, and everything has been going fine except for this problem that im having. I downloaded spotify but I have had problems when using it, since it only plays the song when im on the android homescreen. when i open spotify it stops, or if i pull down the notifications bar, pretty much anything thats not the homescreen of android makes it stop playing music, only to resume when going back to the homescreen. I thought it was something to do with the rom not being compatible or something, but today when I was using it it was working fine, used different apps while listening to music, locked the phone and still played music just fine. but later I had the same problem. now, testing a bit I realized that this is only happening when I've ot headphone plugged in. when they are not plugged in I can go into any app and not have problems. but when I plug them in again, I can only hear music when in the homescreen (note, the one time that everything was working fine I was using headphones).
Has anyone had something similar happen? is this a known problem? is it spotify ot the rom? I am using slimkat build 3.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Came across thread with the same issue. Seems to be related to my Google now home screen. If I go back to trebuchet it fixes it
Hi, ever since I got my G928T I've been having an extremely strange problem where video and audio will not play (regardless of source). This means nothing out of the speakers , and in the case of YouTube, the video being frozen on the first frame.
I've done a factory firmware reset through Kies, and am now rooted running the new custom kernel released a few days ago. I also converted /system, /data, and /cache to f2fs.
However, regardless of what I do, the problem persists.
The only way I've been able to do anything about this problem is by placing a phone call and then ending it. I have no idea why, but this will always fix the audio and sometimes the video for a short period of time.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? The times when the phone call doesn't fix it are extremely annoying; I practically run my life on my phone and the inability to play media isn't a good thing.
Thanks!
A little more detail with the calling: every single time I want to play a different YouTube video, I have to open the dialer, place a call, and go back to YouTube for the video go begin playback.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'm still trying to find a solutuon!
I dont know i mean trying to find the answer does anyone know this plz give the answer ok
Furthermore, this issue isn't solely audio and video, it's every single sound throughout the OS (including keyboard clicks and tap sounds).
Very odd, I really don't know what to do :/
MAY HAVE FOUND A FIX!! I disabled AdaptSound and SoundAlive with Titanium Backup and I've yet to experience any issues.
This may be what we need!
Let me know if it works for you guys!
I also installed Viper4Audio, and used force enable for the super high audio quality driver.
EDIT: Does not seem to always work; instances of failure have still ocurred
They do, however, seem to be somewhat less frequent...
Good luck everyone!
So a bit more info: ever since installing Viper and disabling said apps via Titanium Backup, I find that most of the time I simply need to press the lock button when the song audio/video isn't working and that'll fix it. I have no idea why turning the screen off would make the phone to play the sound, but that's where I'm at now..
why im writing this
i was so mad and so confused when this happened to me yet the fix was so easy. even xda didnt have a fix i only wish to help anyone with this issue.
what caused the issue and Information on the issue
so i got caught in the rain walking home drenched from the rain my Nexus in my pocket but i was only in the rain for 20 mins when i got home i noticed youtube wasn't working "a error occurred during playback" on every single video so i was like. wtf is my data not working. i loaded a webpage it worked just fine. so i was like hm. must be youtube ill wait. so i opened up Google Play Music to listen to some Pantera. to my surprise same issue. "the song you requested could not be played." now this is when i realized something was wrong because this song was stored on the hard-drive in "downloaded" mode. so i opened up Angry birds. no sound... so i thought.. werid. i wonder if the rain screwed up my speakers... but it wasnt even heavy rain. so than attempted to call google support. no. the call wouldn't go through. so i tried to call my sister. the phone app crashed. thats when i realized it had to be a software issue if it was hardware the videos and music would play but without sound. being told "a error occurred" . still on system UI made me know it was a software issue. so i restored the phone. still no fix. thats when i started to notice. the screen wouldn't rotate either so i installed a rotataion app to manually go back and forth from portrait and landscape. for days i used a bluetooth speaker.
the fix
turns out. the issue was sooooo simple. the mic was clogged.... i took a metal tool and used it clear it out. a video on youtube told me how to do it. and it was my last ditch effort i also took a q tip and did the same with the headphone jack and now the rotation and sound works
lolololololol
you fixed all your hardware and software problems by cleaning the mic?
oh god
Same issue please help
I am having the EXACT same issue you had with your Nexus 6p, I got mine wet in the rain for 2 minutes the other day And now have playback errors on EVERYTHING unless I'm connected to a Bluetooth device. I read your fix and tried to clean out there microphone generally but no luck. Any chance you could point me to the video you watched and or give me any further details on your process to fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

I also cleaned out the headphone jack. Try that. And o noticed you said " gently" I tried it gently and it didn't fix my issue that's why I resorted to a metal tool I think what happened was water dried on top of whatever is inside the mic hole. I was damn near ready to sell the phone for like $50. So I wasn't gentle about it at all I sort of like tried scratching around in there. I can link you the YouTube video but it won't really do any good . It's the only thing he did but if you want it hold on
Edit: the video won't show up in my YouTube history I can't link the exact video.
hello ,
I have the exact same problem like with my nexus 6p from about a month , is the mic you mean the one above the finger print sensor or there is another one ??
I'm having the exact same issue now as well with the exact same phone. My problem started because of a different reason though. My phone never got wet. I flashed the CM 14.1 Nethunter rom and was using it for about 4-5 days but then started having issues with Gapps so today I decided to restore the backup I made before I flashed Nethunter and this is when I started noticing problems. Upon first boot my fingerprint was recognized but my pattern lock wasn't, which is weird because I only ever use the same pattern. Booted into TWRP and removed the files containing the pattern so all is well there. It wasn't until I went to set an alarm that I noticed my sounds not working. Then had my girl call my phone; straight to voicemail. Tried a YouTube video; error occurred during playback on every video. This is definitely not as simple a fix as roughly jam something into the mic hole, but it's awesome that worked for OP. If anybody has any ideas for how to fix this or what what wrong I would hella appreciate some insight. Classes start tomorrow and I pretty much rely on my phone alarm lol.

Hey I think I figured this out. Some people found that power cycling your device multiple times fixes it which points to it being a software issue. I noticed that when I would try to play my music from Amazon Music it would automatically pause meaning that either an app was prioritizing the audio or some programming was blocking sound. I went into settings -> sound -> do not disturb -> automatic rules. From there I deleted all rules except for Events and the sound came back within a few minutes. There is a problem with do not disturb with my device so others may be having the same problem.
Hey thanks for the update! I'll give it a try!
Hi all. I've done a search on this issue in this forum and didn't come across any threads, so I'm hoping someone can help me out.
Two months ago my husband broke down and turned in his firestarter for the V20. Everything transferred fine and life was good until the last few days. His phone has an SD card in it, and both the device and card have pics and videos that have either been taken with the v20 or with previous phones. For some reason sporadic pics/videos won't work now. HE can literally take 5 pics, see them fine in the gallery, try to open 3 of them, and they will hang when opening. Videos will give a 'can't load video message'.
I've tried moving them to either the card or the device, turning off cloud backup, downloading a different video player, changing the default apps. I also have a v20 and put his card in my phone and they worked fine.
Please, any suggestions to help me fix this would be greatly appreciated. I'm not afraid to dig as I'm a net admin by trade, but I'm an Android novice (my stuff always just works!) & don't want to brick this thing trying to fix it.
You usually can't go wrong trying a factory reset, I'd give that a shot. But if that does nothing for you, I'd guess it's maybe a hardware problem, since the media all opens fine on your own V20...
