Wm 6.5.x and footprints with digital compass - HD2 General

in the stock leo rom, 1.66 and all the old ones footprints had an integration of digital compass, meaning that afther making an footprint in the menu there was the option digital compass and the coordinates where loaded in digital compass without using google maps. is there an fix for this to have it with wm 6.5.x?

shouldn't be anything to do with 6.5.x
more to do with the version of manilla that its used..

did anyone find solution for this?

I works on my ROM based on the 2.10 from TMOUS

It is surprising indeed!!!!
I too have tried ROMs based on 2.10 TMOUS (Manila 2012) but the integration of footprint with digital compass is not there.
I have tried many combinations of various versions but no help.
Can you share what have done to integrate the compass with manila foot print?
I am on HD2...

dunno if this is the solution(becuse still footprint coordinates are not transfered to copilot when started, but navipanle works!!!)
after the installation of copilot8 , just find the folder in the my device\program files\copilotand there will be 2 files: alksdk.dll and gpstmc.dll. Copy those files to the \windows folder. restart. and u will have working navipanel with all options activated as well as navigation options in footprint!!
if u find a way to transfer the footprint coordinates to copilot when it starts pls lets us know here!

GPS OFF

I have two identical balckstone, loaded with energy WM 6.5
Under the same identical conditions one of them can get GPS signal (I am using Garmin XT and I am in Bali, Indonesia)
The other one cannot link the GOS signal. I have tried many applications like
- chartcross GPS test
- HTC GPSTool
- QuickGPS
Garmin appl says GPS is OFF
The testing software say cannot link the GPS
It seems that there is a hardware faulty, but before I confirm that, can somebody suggest other good GPS tools, so I further my testings?
Thanks
Saulo
my both Blackstones Touch HD are equipped as follows:
- OS version 5.2.23016
- Windows Mobile 6.5
- Energy ROM
on the faulty phone, none of the GPS default tools can link the GPS
Thanks and waiting for suggestions....

HTC Leo datepicker not usable in Handbase

Hi
I use Handbase since years (Palm, Winmob). Now I have the new HTC HD2 (Leo). Date picker is not usable, because it seems too large. It shows only some days of the calendar, is not scrollable and the OK-button
can not be pressed. May be it is a scaling problem. In other
applications the HTC datepicker is normal scaled so it can be used. Is there a possibility to cheange the behaviour of the datepicker? Or is it possible to change datepicker (like iPhone style)?
Thanks for help
You will have to talk with Handbase about this as it is their code.
You have to remember that this is the first WVGA capacitive screen (with multi touch) on WM, technically WM doesn't support capactitive or multi touch - HTC did a little developing of their own. While there are some apps that were already 'touched', Resco Explorer for one, most are not and while they may work fine (and are usable) they should have their interfaces updated to take advantage of this new technology.
Hi there,
David Devaney, Jr. from DDH Software here.
We've received two reports of this problem already through our Support team. I have been testing this today to try to determine the problem. We had tested HanDBase on WM 6.5 before any devices were released and didn't encounter any usability problems. I double checked today that it would run on a WM 6.5 WVGA device using the emulators provided by Microsoft.
Based on my testing this likely has something to do with the Sense UI. I had no problems on the emulator with the Date Picker but then it uses the standard WM UI. So far I've not had any luck finding any development details on HTC's website or any special emulators from them. I actually came to this forum today to see if there was any information on developing for the Sense UI or if any other developers were having problems, as well as to see if a ROM was available that will work in the Emulator. I will search for those things so we can try to do some additional testing.
I am curious, since we don't have an HD2 here, if there is any setting to exclude certain applications from using the Sense UI. I know when Microsoft first added the ability to have larger screen resolutions there was a setting where you could tell the OS not to use that for certain applications that didn't yet support that.
Regards,
David Devaney, Jr.
DDH Software, Inc.
No, it doesn't look like there's any way to disable the large date pickers. There are a couple of places in Inesoft Cash Organizer where dates are not directly enterable, and no-one has found any way to make the standard WM dialogs appear yet. In the case of Cash Organizer you can see the dialog but the value never makes it back to the date field...
I deactivated Sense UI and use the default Today screen with SPB PocketPlus but this issue seems to be because Sense UI is imbedded into the OS for some dialogs.
6.5 Rom that does work with Handbase
Hi to everyone - glad to come across this thread & see I was not the only one experiencing this problem. I have a Touch Pro2 or Rhodium & tried the following Roms - all had the same datepicker issue:
- [ROM][WWE] 24-Dec ● DeepShining v7 ● Sense 2.5 LANDSCAPE | Leo 2.01 | WM 21887
- [ROM][24/DEC/09]CELL PRO SERIES[The Cell Evo V2][Cell Pro V9.5]UP NOW & Video Preview (this is a 2.1 ROM)
- [ROM][WWE] 24-Dec ● DeepShining v7 ● Sense 2.5 LANDSCAPE | Leo 2.01 | WM 21887
- |STABLE-FAST-PRO|ROM|21885,28014|Josh's New PerfectBlack 1.7-FINAL!|12-26|Sense 2.1| & Test 3 & 4 versions
- [ROM][WWE]|27-12-09|Rhodium_AF|HTC Sense 2.5 LANDSCAPE|LEO 2.XX|WM65 21887|ONLINE| (may have been an earlier dated rom)
- Miri WM65 21885 V9.0 Manila 2.5
The only newer ROM (either Sense 2.1 or 2.5) I could find that didn't have this problem was the Miri WM 6.5 21885 :: MANILA 2.1 :: V 7.0. The date picker is normal. With the non-working ROMS I tried every registry font change I could find with no effect.
Hope this information helps a bit.

iGo8 and Imagio

Morning all,
First I would like to wish everyone in the states a very happy turkey holiday. Hopefully yours was as excellent as mine was.
Now onto the real business. I have an Imagio that for the most part I love. While I cannot wait for the SPL and to be able to build custom ROMs I am waiting patiently.
I am trying to run iGo8 on the Imagio and have not found any definitive way of doing it. I have cobbled together some details that work, but are not very stable. Here is what I have currently:
1) iGo8.3.2 97313
2) TTS Susan
3) Dimka HD skin
I searched this section and found a thread on how to get iGo8 to run in landscape 800x480 mode. While this was helpful for the default iGo skin it blows up when trying to use the Dimka HD skin. Second TTS does not work at all, whether I have TF3D running or not. I get no soothing Susan!
I was wondering how people are doing with iGo8 and how do you have it running.
Thanks,
Steve
running 8.3.4 with default skin which I love at the native resolution and it runs perfectly!
Best 3d gps software out there.
I'm running 8.3.4.10280 installed on my SD card, can't get TTS to work but otherwise runs great in landscape or portrait. I'm using "Dave" for regular voice but no matter what I try I can't get TTS to work.
Interestingly this version can read the "geocoded" contacts addresses that prior versions can generate from your WM contacts but it can't generate the file itself so....
If you want to get your contacts to display on the map as POI, you need a different version. I currently have another version (8.3.2.97313) installed in main memory and when I add a contact I'll run this version that will generate the needed file and it adds it to the contacts on the card. This was the only feature that I thought TomTom had over the iGo but now that I got it working iGo tops TomTom in eye candy and utility (IMHO).
Please don't ask where to get the files, they're out there on the interwebs, seek and ye shall find....

That's one basic function of windows mobile, and if you ever need to look for an appointment in the past ("when did I see that person last in my office?"), or for a phone number in your contact ("who's this number who called me on the other phone?"), what are you going to use? That cannot be removed, absolutely
Anyway, I suggest removing also the "Azioni" tab with economical quotations.
Also in my opinion could be removed the following:
cleanram
bsbtweaks
htc flashlight
jblend
bubble breaker
internet explorer (is that possible? opera is better)
windows media (is that possible? coreplayer/tcpmp are better)
xdashutdown
All these applications could be reinstalled if you need; since everyone needs to install already a lot of cabs after every flash, these cabs can be easily added to the list. Also, installing these apps yourself, you can see them in the "remove applications" dialogue, so it's easier to update them
remove:

I almost agree with your remove list... but it makes no sense to leave document tab. That tab is already remove in simple "axlor lite", so it must be also removed in axlor Xlite...
Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace opera 9.7 with opera 10. If you keep opera 9.7 in the rom, and install also opera 10, there are at least 7MB wasted because you cannot remove opera 9.7 if it's cooked inside.
Or maybe, remove opera alltogether, so anyone can choose to install his favourite, and can remove it afterwards from "remove applications" if needed
Also, I used footprints once... maybe it's not that useless, but if there is a free alternative application that does the same thing and is not included in the manila, maybe is better, otherwise probably it's better to keep it
The concept of an XLite version is this: remove everything that is possible to remove, so you have the maximum possible free space. After that, you can install all the applications you need by yourself, but in that case you have those applications listed in "remove apps" and can more easily manage them.
Will you use default iconset in this XLite?

Totally agree with you: removing search function is MADNESS
Anyway, I suggest removing also the "Azioni" tab with economical quotations i agree... eventually Twitter tab also if is possibile.
cleanram totally agree
bsbtweaks totally agree
htc flashlight sometime useful, but if can be installed via cab is better to remove
jblend sometime useful, but if can be installed via cab is better to remove
bubble breaker totally agree
internet explorer (is that possible? opera is better i think IE cannot be removed, but integrate Opera 10 with flash builtin instead 9.7 can be a good option)
windows media but i think Media Player cannot be removed
xdashutdown almost essential

I've inserted my opionions in quote (green: i agree - red disagree)
Imho it's a good idea to leave the Memory card format utility also.
Removing Office and Remote desktop is not a good idea for me
The best option is to remove only programs provided also via standard cab installer, making this the first "customized by users" rom, like a tailored tuxedo
removing also pim backup, shake and save, windows live it's a god idea.
It's better does not remove Facebook application if can breake the Manila facebook integration function. It's also better do not integrate Facebook Manila tab... better to wait netx more feature rich release: at this moment is a duplicate of Facebook contacts tab

Diciamo che andiamo molto d'accordo
I think too that the most things you can remove, the better, as long as you can install them with cabs.
XDAShutdown is one of those things, there's the cab for it... and believe me, I never use it I just have installed touchx powerbutton actionscreen and I reset from there.
Regarding office mobile... I think there's a cab for that as well, and if you can install just excel and word, then you can save space on powerpoint... maybe I even need just excel, as I never do text processing on the phone.
Also, adobe reader could be removed, probably there are smaller pdf readers around....
Regarding the tabs, if you can add them with mods without cooking them in... then let's remove them as well Especially "Azioni"
Probably it would be a good idea to also remove tom autoinstall (if it's installed and cooked in the internal memory). Anyone can add the program himself to install all the cabs; also, not everyone uses tom autoinstall, me for example, I use Sashimi, which is already installed on my sdcard
pls dont remove

Some people are just not suited for this version of the ROM.
If you want htc flashlight, xdashutdown, program X, Y and Z, then just download and flash Axlor Full or Axlor Lite.
Axlor XLite is, as the name says, Extra-lite, and contains the least possible number of applications, so if you want something, you install it yourself after flashing.

Help with my HD2 t-mobile problems

Ok I have been pulling my hair out about this. I have a HTC HD2 from t-mobile. I haven't reflashed or changed the rom. All I have done is install and customize the folders and some things like that. I will list the things I have installed and maybe someone can tell me what program is the problem. I have hard reset 2 times because it pisses me off so bad and before I do it again I wanted to see if anyone could help. The problem is if I get a text when I am sending or typing one the phone LLAAGGS really bad and sometimes locks up and I have to pull the battery. this happens alot of the time if I am doing anything when I get a text. Even trying to open a text to read and if I get a new text at that time.. LOCK.. or if it dont lock then its REALLy slow and there isnt any apps running that I can see. I always close apps and look and see what is running alot. Sometimes when I even try to use the phone to call someone it wont make the call... doesn't say anything like can't connect at this time or anything. I click on a contact and then call that contact and its like I never push call.. it lights up like I am trying but never starts to make the call. All this really sucks when you are trying to make a call or even talk to more then one friend at a time in text. can anyone help me find out what I need to do or what I am doing wrong. I haven't flashed the rom because I dont want to try something new and not like it and can't go back to the way it was. Please help.

i thought i had alot installed on my device wow u win u really need to take them all off and work it out one by one only other thing i suggest is flash a new rom and use it for a couple of days without tweaks or apps to see if the fault could be with the rom
Try turning
off Manilla and running from the raw windows mobile screen. See if it still does the same.
Are you running task 2 before re-flashing?
Conflict?
That's a lot of apps, increasing the chances of a conflict with some dodgy software.
I am running TMOUS 2.10 on my Leo here in Aus and it works like a charm. Much more reliable and less conflicts than cooked roms.
I had an issue with swype, and discovered that when I popped out my sd card, lag in swype dissapeared instantly, so I backed up the content of my sd and reformatted, then copied files back onto sd..
I'm not sure if your problem is the same but try popping out the sd, with phone running, and see if it fixes your lag issues.
C'mon now - maybe the guy needs ALL 61 apps
Ive got the same problem. Its driving me crazy. Receiving a text message shouldn't lock up the device and require a soft reset. Its just crazy. I know exactly how frustrating it is to need to read a text or shoot one off and you cant do anything bc its frozen.
I will post my apps when I get a chance, I dont have near as much running as you do but maybe together we can find the culprit.
