Several times every day my HD2 freeces 14 sec in a call.
Most often when someone calls me.
I notice first that there is no sound.
The call seconds continue counting as if the call is still going, but only hardbutton on/off is working. After 14 sec the display freeces.
Using the hard button will close the display, but not turn off the phone.
Diplay on works as well but the slider does not, so only batt out or reset button will help.
Anyone knows?
Had the same problem using Rom1.48 and now also on 1.66.

FM radio in use - could be the problem?
Someone wrote on a Norwegian forum that the phone freece if you pull the headset without closing the music/radio program first WHEN an incomming call is displayed.
Anyone?
I listen to the FM radio during the day, and this might be what's happening. I pull out the coard/plugg before answering the call without closing FM radio first.

80 % times when I receive a call, I keep asking who it is for about 15 seconds until I hear the voice or the people hear me... The only extra thing I did is unlocking it. After some hard resets It keeps ocurring. I have to sim cards with the same number but I tried both of them. With my siemens phone it does not happen... Please help me :arrow:
I have the same problem with my IMATE... answering calls .. it takes somewhere between 5-30 seconds for the call to 'drop in' as in the phone stops ringing on my end and the person calling me end... but its jsut silence for anywhere up to 30 seconds, sometimes more!
Any ideas? I'm currently looking through the forums for an answer...
I find a soft reboot helps it a little....

I have exactly the same problem...
It takes anything from 2 to 30 seconds to answer the call, by which time the person on the other side usually disconnects anyway.
I have some suspicion it may be related to the Pocket Bluetooth Tools.

I experience the same problem with both incoming and outgoing calls although not always.
I did not unlock my phone, but do have BT tools installed. I do not hear anything for about 5 - 15 sec. and the person on the other end doesn't hear anything too.
It's not a big problem, but should not be there either!

Recently I have noticed a problem with my XDA II. When an incoming call comes in the phone does nothing. No ring or incoming call message on the screen. If I call my phone from my land line it rings and rings and never even goes to voice mail! If I press the answer button while doing this, the XDA2 suddenly starts ringing for a second and then it goes to voice mail. The phone then reports I have missed a call. If I then press the answer button to make a call, the phone goes haywire and plays the "missed a call" sound 3 or 4 times and then flashes the led. If I clear the missed call report and press the answer button again it does the same thing again.
If I soft reset the phone it is ok again, but eventually this problem comes back again.
It has only recently started doing this. The first time I noticed the problem was when I was setting up a photo contact for the first time. I have since retored an old sprite backup from what I believe was before the problem started but I am still seeing the same issue. I tried disabling IA_Callerid process on boot and a few other processes (down to 16 processes) but this hasn't helped either.

Has anyone else seen this problem before or know what could be causing it? Its totally weird. O2 support didn't have a clue either. I really don't want to have to hard reset my phone and install everything again :?

I did search for an answer, but could not find one.
Because of the nature of my work, I frequently make calls longer than an hour. I have noticed the following (very irritating) phenomenon. The call will end by itself at around 58-59 minutes, and I can not call back!
If I make a call, I get the dialing screen, and nothing happens. After a couple of minutes of waiting with this screen, the call will go through. I can turn flight mode on and off to no effect. All subsequent calls will then "pause" like this for a minute or so before going through.
If I restart the phone everything is fine.
My phone is a Imate K-Jam with 2.16.9.1 WWE ROM. The radio rom has been updated to 02.61.11. This problem occurs with the default radio rom and the updated one.
If I keep an eye on call length and stop the call and dial back after, say, 50min, there is no problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
care to list out software that you have installed? sounds like.. there is a monitoring software going on .. which do something after a certain amount of time, however it has bug and hanged.. making your phone .. unavailable. That's what I think.

I only have Total commander, TCPMP, Stoptime (a stopwatch/timer program), the ampda Camera Speckle Fix, and Magicall.
I have a G4 prophet (Orange UK) which I have had for about 3 years now. Over time I have upgraded the ROM and so on and noticed an annoying bug that would tend to develop over a period of time using the phone.
My speaker will turn off until I restart the phone due to a number of things:
1. Just using having the phone on for 2-3 days.
2. Sometimes randomly dialling a number with the keypad.
3. Doing some kind of command that will make a sound, i.e. screen tap or play music.
I know the speaker isn't broken since I can get the sound back immediately if I restart the phone. It also isn't a problem with the headphone jack since I have tried fiddling with the jack and I can still hear through the earpiece. Another weird thing is that I can put the phone on speaker phone whilst making a call and it comes through the speaker!?! This is really annoying since any alarm becomes silent and I often miss calls!
I have tried numerous hard resets and it still presents itself either after a few minutes or hours of using the phone.
Could it be a problem with the ROM (I have tried many other ROMs) or radio?

I can now easily reproduce the problem:
1. enter the phone dialler and keep on pressing numbers (about 30-40 times) until the keypad tone stops sounding.
From this point onwards only a reset will bring back the system sounds (keypad tones, alarm, ring tone, tap sounds etc...)
What is strange is that the speaker will still work to play music or use the speaker phone during a call.
This is driving me crazy!

I've tested this about 10 times now and i need between 50-52 key presses before the sound turns off!
a Possible Solution
This may solve your problem without resetting every time the sound stops.
Open Start Menu
Open Settings
Open Phone (in Personal tab)
Just click OK now (to close this window)
Check the sound.

I have got several very annoying device hangs during incoming call without visible reason. Today I take notice that each time before it I used FM radio. So I play a little with it and now can present reproducible scenario (firmware 1.48, tested on 3 different devices):
- connect headset, switch on FM radio, lock the screen
- disconnect headset, wait 1 minute until FM auto shutdown (screen should be locked all this time)
- after answering next incoming call - no sound, ticking connection time, interface slowly dying
After manual application closing no problems occur.
I have the same problem, but also after I used the FM radio and call the phone freezes and can handle only with soft reset. Problem does not occur every time, but always after when used FM Radio.
(firmware 1.43)
Key moment - locked screen during FM auto shutdown. Manual exit allows to bypass the problem.
Thank you for the informations. I suspected FM Radio was the cause of the problem but I was not sure yet.
Does this freezing occur in a stock HD2? Is HTC aware of this problem?

I've experienced the same. I was using the headset and listening to music played on Windows Media Player, and a call came through. The call received 100%, and after call had ended the phone crashed restarting the music. I had the phone tethered to USB to boost battery charge. Had to hard reset device as it was no longer responding to anything.

I remember now that this probably always happenes when the FM radio is on, and an incomming call comes.
Maybe I unplug the headset, maybe I dont. Will test both scenarios. But everytime, I have no sound from the person that calls me, and after 14s, the phone freece totaly. Only display on/off works (hardbutton).
Batt out is the only sollution.

HD2 hangs during incoming call
I have this problem of the phone hanging on an incoming call, cant hear anything but the call connects. I have upgraded to the latest rom on the HTC website WWE. And I did not even turn the radio on.
I am in Hong Kong. I have the problem of HD2 hang after playing the music or FM radio. Then I changed the official rom to energy , but the same problem encountered, even I changed various of screen lock. These few days, I started to suspect the FM radio and found some scenario of HD2 hang are the same as yours.

Yes, I got it........ It is a 1min time boom after disconnect the earphone when listening the FM radio. To activate it, u must turn off the screen during count down.
