how disable rotate in htc messaging

I haven't tried, but I should think delete (or exclude) the values
"MessageClient"
and
"MessageEnhancement"
from both
\HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName
and
\HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
in the registry
not sure about the "tmail" and "Composer" values, but just backup the registry keys and experiment..

not work
deleted but not work

Did you restart your device? System-wide registry changes need a restart so Windows re-reads the registry.

yes restarted but not work

work but not work in new massage

did you also try to remove the "tmail" value and/or the "Compose" value..?
what's the use of it anyway? are you typing messages on a rollercoaster? or at sea?

I'm having very slow rotation response in sms messaging client? It take about 8 to 10 seconds for the screen to change if you rotate it. Rotation is fast on all other applications. Also this happens whether there is only one sms or many. I tried to disable the rotation even but even if I remove all the entries for the gsensor rotation it still rotates. I checked the gsensor folder in the registry to make sure there is nothing left in any gsensor folders. Any ideas why it rotates so slow or how to disable it?

here's how I did it:
install Touch tools. in it's rotation manager delete any entry that has anything related to messaging.
now open the registry and search for "rotat" (yes, no "e") you'll get plenty of results, some of them are in subfolders related to messaging. change all values to 0
as I recall, this has disabled rotation for everything but the new message window (I hard reset my phone lately and rotation works fine so I won't try it again) so basically, you can open a contact and choose new text message and it won't rotate, but if you open the messaging app and choose new, it will rotate.

you could always just turn auto rotate off

Landscape Mode

Probably because of an incompatibility with the new TouchFlo interface, HTC has disabled manual switching to landscape mode on the Jade. This in itself is already a disadvantage. It is particularly bad for Opera because the very useful landscape option is now also absent from its context menu. The good news is: There is an easy way out: Just unlock the registry and change
"HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation\HideOrientationUI" from "1" to "0"
and you can rotate to your hearts delight. The respective button is now available in "Settings - Screen" - and the option is also available in Opera's context menu! Note, however, that whenever you go back to TouchFlo's today screen it will rotate back to vertical. If you want to run a program in landscape it is thus best to first start the program and then use the start button access "Settings - Screen". In Opera, however, this is not necessary.
Thanks for this Information!
hi there,
thanks for this new hack- you can also set a shortcut for orientation with sktools which you then can start from the launcher
cheers
Landscape Mode and writing messages
Hi everybody,
i tried this setting for landscape mode and it is working well.
But only thing i noticed. If i want to try a message in landscape mode, the keyboard is not displayed correctly - some letters are missing.
Does anybody have the same issue?
thx
simon
It's weird that landscape mode exists in Opera 8.65 without that hack in registry, but in Opera 9 does not Any ideas?
I say that because this mode is very useful for internet browsing, not so in other applications.
I have the same problem with the keyboard in landscape mode, maybe this can be resolved by installing another on screen keyboard?

hi, you first need a registry editor. i use phm regedit, but if u search you'll find also other program that do the same. install it on jade, run and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation\ (tapping the "+" on the left of the voice, and finally tapping "rotation"), you'll find 4 voices, tap on HideOrientationUI, and set on "value data" = "0" instead of "1". tap ok, exit the program, softreset et voilĂ ! now you can find the button on settings\system\display.

Thanks for your answer IL_mante, its works perfect for my HTC VIVA.
Also use:
"HKLM\System\GDI\ClearTypeSettings\OffOnRotation" from "1" to "0"
to keep your text looking pretty.

Click on the little triangle on the bottom center of the screen next to the keyboard icon and select the standard keyboard.
my phone's screen always in vertical mode. but when i want to use horizontal screen to type sms, i will use QuickMenu to change screen from H-V. simple and no registry tweak at all. it is alright for me even though the screen will revert back to horizontal mode when it goes back to home screen.
Hi Guys,
Can you make picture of Opera in landscape mode??? and with keybord too???
BTW did you hear about "IRIS" browser? 100/100 at acid3test

After enabling rotation in the registry, you can also assign long-press of left hardware button to rotate the screen...
Just go to Start>Settings>Personal>Buttons... Just select <Rotate Screen> from the choices for Button 1...
hi i enabled landscape in registry, assigned to long press green button, works well to this point. problem is that when in landscape, keyboard doesnt show up... htc one, nor FingerKeyboard i installed...
when in portrait, kezboard shows up, i switch to landscape and it's gone...
htc's full qwerty keyboard wasn't showing landscape from the beginning, always portrait only...
another problem, when i switch to lanscape when in TotalCommander, screen reverts back to portrait immediately... just like in manila.
any suggestions?
is there any portrait fullscreen keyboard?
EDIT: problem solved. after uninstalling FingerKeyboard from Storage, everything works ok... seems that system tools is better to keep in main memory

Need help for Gsen!!!

Hey guys,
I just got my HD and have really no clue how to get the gsen to work so i can write sms and emails in landscape. Also I would like a few other applications to be in landscape too.
Can anyone help me??? It would be greatly appreciated.
Can someone please help me? or give me website that gives instructions? I really need help for this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
gsen should by default enable landscape for almost any app (with some exceptions like tf3d and so on). after installed you should run gsen manually and then notice if the screen rotation is working. then if you like etc you can run gsen cfg and set it to autostart via left soft key.

Pre-installed?..... GSen doesn't come pre-installed.
Where did you get it from?
He's probably just talking about the original rotator that excludes most everything, aside from the media/internet based programs.
Works??
Hi again.
I installed the prog right now, started and open the settings. Screw the phone -< works fine. close settings, open programs, tur the phone again -> nothing happens. Like in nearly) every other program. Opening the settings again, nothing happens too.
So i turned the GSEN off an on again sometime, settings work but nothing else.
WHAT'S THE PROBLEM???
Thx for reply
Did you read the readme.txt file that came with gsen?
Works fine on my HD
Here is a part of the file:
1. Description
Auto-rotate screen on SOME devices with g-sensor.
Install GSen and run it.
If you run it again, program will ask you "Unload program?".
If you answer yes - program will be unloaded.
This also possible without question with parameter #unload.
You can use configuration shortcut for edit configuration file.
This file can include this command:
#window(text or class name) - add window description
#timeout(value) - default value 1000 ms
#onlyfor(0|1) - if 0 auto rotate work for all programm except defined by #window, otherwise ONLY for this program.
By default program not rotate screen if Manila or Teeter is foreground application, but you can edit this list.
#fdscreenoff(0|1|2) - if 1, program will switch off screen if you put device with screen on bottom, if 2 device will suspend.
#lockscreen(0|1) - if not present = 1, can prevent, if enabled, rotation with locked device
#poweroff180(0|1) - if not present = 0, determine interpretation of rotation to 180, 0 - rotate screen, 1 - power off.
GSen can indicate self state,
you can setup it with this commands:
#show(0|1) - if 1 GSen will show one pixel (by default) indicator on top bar.
#x(X),
#y(Y) coordinates of this indicator, default X=240,Y=1
#clr(R,G,B) - color, default white (255,255,255)
you also can setup width and height (#width(W), #height(H))
Commandline parameters:
#load - load app, if loaded already - exit without questions
#unload - unload app
#toggle - if loaded will unload, otherwise will load, usable with one shortcut
#about - show about window
if you start without parameters - program will ask "Unload?" if already exist one instance, or simple run if not exist.
NOTE: some programs, like Teeter game, cannot start in landscape mode, so switch to standard display orientation before.
Cheers
Yep
... I did.
First time I installed it I changed someting in the configfile as advised. But it doesn't work so in uninstalled and reinstalled it. Then started the prog.
SOMETIMES the picture turnes but not everytime.
I've got a HTC Touch Diamond :-o Shouldn't be the problem i guess...
Okay...
I just changed timeout to 5 and it works just fine on HTC touch HD
Guess it shoudn't be a problem on Diamond.
What is the Contacts program name?
In the GSen Configuration file, I want to be able to tell the program to leave the Contacts screen alone (to not rotate). The only problem I have is that I don't know the actual program name for Contacts, and where is it located?
Thanks,
Peter
Got it ...
I figured it out. When I entered the following command into the GSen configuration file:
#windows(Contacts)
It didn't work because I didn't first save it. Now that I've entered it again, and then saved the file, it works.
Peter
Is there any way to set it to rotate the Today screen? I'm using the default config and all programs rotate apart from Today.

how to disable auto rotate?

I have duttys v1.8 installed and I cant find a place to disable auto rotate.
I installed bsb tweaks and hd2tweak and none of them are capable of stopping the auto rotation.
Its really frustrating because every time I'm in messages and I move the phone just a little bit, the screen rotates and everything gets slowed down.

Try this
HKCU/Software/HTC/HTCSENSOR/GSensor/
Change Autorotation to 0 (zero)
It stops rotation for everything except for the usual (opera, Photos, music).. hmmm i think it still rotates the Messaging..
Try another thing
HKCU/Software/HTC/HTCSENSOR .. go thru the white list and the module name list and delete messaging file...
Do take a back up of the files you delete.
Cheers!
I tried both and they did not work.
anyone have any ideas how to disable it?
Maybe use Gyrator and add Manilla to the exlusion list?
Downgrade Manilla?
Or use another ROM, which fits your requirements
BsB for sure works on stock ROM. So maybe this ROM uses some different rotating software ?
Disable auto rotate in HD 2
Anyone know how?
Messages and email constantly rotate when reading lying down. Very annoying. BsB tweaks doesn't work. The other suggestions in this thread don't work.
There aree some great tweaks in these forums but no one seems to have a tweak that works for disabling auto rotate?
Please help
Use registry editor to delete whatever u want inside this folder to disable effect of gsensor on it
Remember to backup first

Disable Opera 9.7 auto rotate in HD 2
I had the issue wth Opera 9.7 as well, tried changing the registry etc. without success...
And solved with the help of BSB Tweaks 1.61.
1. Run Bsb tweaks.
2. Menu -> rotation
3. Select (check) Opera (opera_mainWndClass)
4. Options -> Rotation status -> disabled
5. Close -> Exit
6. Soft Reset
Other things such as album rotates, but opera doesn't.
Hope this helps.

Disable autorotation on Omnia 2

Hello everyone,
I have mapped Button2 to manually trigger screen rotation (done by SKTools, however key HideOrientationUi = 0). Done soft reset and that button is working, but auto rotation is still rotating my screen as well. I have tried to modify hklm\Software\Autorotation and key "disable" set to 1, but it did not help (after soft reset that value changed back to 0).
Could someone suggest how to proceed in order to get rid of auto-rotation?
btw. I am running on winmo 6.5.x
Thank you in advance.
Try using PHM Regedit.
Go to HKLM/Software/AutoRotation.
There you have all aplications that rotate automatically. You can remove them.
OR
Just open the file explorer, go to /Windows/startup folder and delete autorotation.lnk.
I have noticed that if Opera is running in the background everything starts rotating automaticailly but stops once opera is closed.
Yep, Opera is the culprit. There's no fix for it aside from closing it every time or switching to IE.

Please help me with automatic rotation : )

I've got a problem : when my phone is ringing, the automatic rotation works. So, for example, when I draw the phone out of my pocket to pick-up, it often rotates horizontally and I incidentally press the "hang up" button. I have no idea witch program exactly is causing this, but please tell me how to disable the automatic rotation oh phone ring. I have Gyrator and BSBTweaks installed and I've searched, but I haven't managed to do it.
:? Anyone?
Since you are using Gyrator, you must have set it to rotate all apps. If you don't want your Dialer to rotate automatically, then you must make sure that cprog is included in the exception list.
Rather than use Gyrator, I would suggest you update your registry with the G-Config Whitelist. Just make sure that cprog is not in that list.
You can find the G-Config entries in the link below.
http://www.4shared.com/dir/24155450/7800c381/Rhodium.html
There're s no such thing as an 'exeptions list' in Gyrator, but I don't use it all the time. I suppose the problem is in BSBtweaks - I tried adding "phone" to the rotating apps there and then removing the check-mark, but it didn't work. Then I tried downloading the file you suggested, but even after adding it to the registry the phone would still rotate when someone's calling. I'm starting to feel in a dead end here :/
Check the program (phone / cprog) in BSB Tweaks and then hit the Options softkey below and click on Remove Selected Apps.
Soft Reset and you should be fine. Make sure you that Gyrator does not startup again.
Damn. I did exactly as you told, but it didn't work out. The thing is, even after I remove a program from the "rotation" list in BSBTweaks, it is back there again after soft reset. So I've decided to uninstall the program, then to apply the registry file you mentioned earlier again and then to reset the phone. But even then, when I rotate the phone during a call, the display rotates ;/ I'm starting to wonder if there's something else forcing it to do so, but I'm not in the mood for hard reset ;/
The REG file I linked you to contains most of the programs that people could install that would need rotation INCLUDING the phone.
BSB Tweaks was supposed to help you to remove the phone entry without going into the registry.
Ok, nevermind that.
Uee any registry editor and go to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList]
Delete "Phone/Lock/Compose/Pictures"="Dialog"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName]
Delete "Phone/Lock/Compose/Pictures"="\\Windows\\cprog.exe"
That should fix it. Make sure that you don't have Gyrator / ChangeScreen / any other rotation program installed.
