Paid for software worth installing on TP2? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Themes and Apps

Hi Folks,
I know there is already a thread about software worth installing but these all seem to be freeware.
I'm just wondering if we can start a thread where people can put up a list of paid for software that is worth installing or not worth it? If there is already could someone please point me in the right direction?
If not, would you be so kind as to share what you have bought and why it is good or bad?
many thanks.

I have purchased a few great apps:
Cash Organizer - Money management program. Does graphs and budgets for finances and helps me track multiple accounts. I use this with my online banking to reconcile my bank account twice a week to know exactly where my money is at.
Backcountry Navigator - AWESOME GPS app that will download (from computer or device) US Forrest Service maps and tell you where you are on it. It will track your movement so if you go camping and hike for a couple hours, this will tell you where you are and you can find a quick easy way back. Must have for any outdoor people.
Nagivon - Turn by turn direction software for GPS. Not only does it do voice turn by turn but also says street names so I don't have to keep looking at my phone. On the freeway it shows real traffic signs and also lane guidance so it will actually tell you exactly what lane to be in when a freeway interchange or exit is happening. VERY cool app!

I'm a huge fan of Garmin XT for Nav. Not cheap, but in my humble opinion, very much worth it. I've also paid for Newsbreak (podcast catcher / RSS feed tool) - also very good.

Backup options
SPB Backup
and
Sprite Backup
Both are paid apps, but they're the go-to options for most members here when it comes to selective- or full-system backups to/from your winmo phone. They can even do the backups to a new phone or different rom on the same phone.

Music and Media
I would have to say of all the media players I have tried, nothing beats the latest version of Core Player. For just sheer ease of use and ability to handle multiple file formats this media player is as good as it gets.

I definitely second Garmin XT. One of the features I use ALL the time is it showing the gas prices of all the closest gas stations.
I also think a good alarm/profile manager is a necessity.

Kinoma Play

What FUN STUFF can you do on a PocketPC? Streaming video?

I just got my first pocket PC all dialed in. It is an 8125 and I put one of Summiters bare cingular roms on (THANK YOU SUMMITER!)...Its working good but it doesn't feel very "Customized" if you know what I mean. Kind of a boring "today" screen with the factory background... I only use it to make phone calls and browse the internet with the Pocket IE.
So I picked up WiFiFoFum2 and it is really fun and very useful - BUT I WANT MORE!!!
I was hoping you all could point me in the direction of more FUN STUFF or UseFull applications that would make my $250 purchase feel "worth it"! Stuff you guys really enjoy using on your pocket pc
Maybe things like:
* Streaming Video maybe watch or listen to music? (any free ways to do this? What programs?)
* Tap into Itunes broadcasts? (searched but couldn't find info? Anyone know the name of this program?)
* Best IM Client?
* BEST media player?
* Do I need to install codecs? Where or what is the install file called???
* Any good freeware programs? (registry editors, file explorers, etc...)
Thanks again for everyone that helped me flash/update my ROM!!!
http://www.freewareppc.com/
best media player is tcpmp http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download
link for codecs is also there

Have you tried Wardriving with WiFiFoFum?
It's fun to search and find all your local hotspots (locked or not).
I've found several hotspots with funny names like: "Try to get in Sucker!", "You anin't that smart", "Hack into this!", "Hack me" and such...
However, you'll be amazed how many unsecure hotspots there are... WIDE OPEN all the way into the local networks and PCs... Of course that't another story.
To view your pictures, music and videos on your pc using the phone check out orb.com
HEY SOME REALLY GOOD PROGRAMS MENTIONED HERE! Keep them coming!
I am having such a blast playing with all these!
I JUST DOWNLOADED " SiriusWM5". This is SOOOO COOOL. You signup online at sirius.com for a 3day free trial (you can do this as many times as you have e-mail addresses).
Then you run "siriusWM5" and it connects to over 50+ Sirius Sattellite Radio Stations! FOR FREE (until your 3day preview expires)...
I been listening to Howard Stern ALL DAY LONG through GPRS as I walk about my place of business!!!
VERY COOL!
WiFiFoFum:
YES, I tried the wardriving - It is AMAZING how many people are broadcasting UNSECURED hot spots!!! It would be so easy to just go in and add my MAC address to the "ALLOW List" so even if they did ever switch to WEP encryption I would still have a shot at connecting !
Wisbar Advance 2 and/or WAD will keep busy for weeks possibly more if you start designing your own themes.

New Wizard - What to do?

Hello.
Im going to get my brand new Wizard tomorrow, Im really excited
Well, what to do when I get it? Update the OS? What "must-have" apps should I install?
Overclocking?
Remove any standard apps that steal performance?
Where can I find apps to this device?
Im relly newbie at this, only had an Motorola A925 with Symbian before, as much tips as possible would be fine. If this question been asked before please link it to me.
// Mikke!
It really depends on what exactly you want to do with it. Here's a quick list of apps I can't live without though:
PocketBreeze http://www.sbsh.net
iLauncher http://www.sbsh.net
Cash Organizer http://www.inesoft.com
Voice Command http://www.microsoft.com
Mapopolis http://www.mapopolis.com <-- For GPS usage
Total Commander (don't have a link handy)
Resco Explorer http://www.resco.net
I'm also running a "clean" ROM, with a few Cingular customizations installed. My extended ROM is completely blank, so I'm just picking and choosing what I need. Also a variety of reg hacks have been done as well.
Good luck with the new device! Make sure you're reading here a couple of weeks before doing anything to the ROM.
Cheers!
anyone? Going to get it tomorrow, so help me please
Mikke,
There are many threads on this.
Best thing to do is think about how you want to use your device, and configure it from there.
sk0t's apps are a very good start - remember, the main things you want to configure are the Today screen (the first screen you see, something like your desktop on your pc), and then the apps that run on top of the phone.
The more 3rd party apps you run, the more impact they have on performance, so keep them reasonable.
This is a good thread to start with, but there are many others:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=57930&highlight=
This is a nice setup:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=46855&highlight=
You will have to decide if you want to run Wisbar to dramatically change your Today screen. It's beautiful, but uses a lot of memory.
I can't use a PocketPC without PhoneAlarm. Other people like PocketZen.
If you want a good indication of some great software, check out the PocketPC Mag awards. I'm judging the awards, so they must be great  (btw, check out their Best of collection: over $3000 of software for less then 1/10 of the price. PM me if you want it at an even better reduced price, or a free trial issue of the Magazine :shock

Need simple today plugin to add large icons to today screen

I would like to add a couple of large icons to my today screen to start a couple of programs i use in my car (mainly pocket player). Pocket player does have a today plugin, but its to small to hit when i am driving.
I have tried stuff like iLauncher etc, but i dont need all the extra functionality and find them to fiddly on the small screen. They also slow it down for me. I have resco explorer but the icon are to small and cant see a way to make them bigger (as big as the battery/storage icons).
I just want the most basic 'no frills' app that simply puts large icons on the today screen, nothing else.
Can anyone recommend anything?
I like claunch.

I don't think this forum is hardly the place to be advertising where you can get PDA software for free that you should be paying for. A lot of these users are software developers that SELL their software on the internet and some offer it as FREEWARE. There's a difference. I suppose you've also found cracks for Pocket Plus on the Internet, too??
To give newbie2's post context, I should add that stinkie pointed towards a popular p2p network as a means of getting this software. Now we all know how to use p2p, but I'm not going to endorse it as a way to take money from developers who might well be members of this board.
I'm not one to talk when it comes to intellectual property theft, since if t'were not for said half inching, I'd be a mental pauper, but still, let's try to keep the board as clean as we can.
Assassination contracts, prostitution, that's all fine, but no piracy if poss, m'kay?

rss program?

Hi there. I saw in this forum many good programmers. Can any of you make a RSS program with embeded photos like newspanel???
RSS Hub is my choice of reader, and will probably always be. Even supports podcasts, and auto updates.
The New Viigo beta, for SURE! Has TONS of features, at least give it a look:
http://viigo.com/beta
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398571
I like BeyondPod. It works well for me.
pRSSReader. does its job simply and perfect
I know there are a ton of free ones but I've always gone bake to SPB Insight because it actually downloads the whole article and not just a link. Does anyone know of a free one which also has this feature? Basically in the morning before I set off to work I connect to my wireless network and update all my channels, there is no 3G available in my area, nor where I work, no wifi at work either, which is why I like to have whole pages downloaded. I have HTC RSS hub built into my rom but it only gives me brief headlines wanting to connect to the internet to view the whole article. Seems like a waste of time to me.

I really like the Egress 4.0.0 interface however it has horrible memory leaks (Once I uninstalled Egress the memory leaks stopped). I have yet to try 3.3.0.
I really like pRSSreader which you can find at the below URL. The new 1.4.x release really improved the UI. However, there are a few small bugs that the author David Andrš is really working hard to fix.
http://code.google.com/p/prssr/
all this programms are good but not any can show pictures in today screen like new spanel.

Did anyone try Wikango?

is an application that warns you for fixed and mobile traffic control spots and radars. It's already used widely in France and Spain. The good thing is that it is cross platform. However, I didn't find any cab for windows mobile yet. I would certainly like to try if it works, before spending e25 on it. Strange thing by the way is, that for Android it costs e10 in the android store.
wikango.com
Currently it looks like Wikango can't be downloaded. If you select the mobile list and select a phone, you will get redirected to the "buy" page instead while it can't be bought at this time. Funny thing.
you're right. They claim though to have thousands of users already!
Since you need a critical mass of users to have accurate information on radar locations, I'm very charmed by the idea of a cross platform solution like this, especially because of the ever increasing amount of smart phones.
Btw, a friend of mine bought it in the android store for e10, and it works great, I've seen it on his HTC Hero. Strangely it's free for iphone in the appstore.
Trapster
Why not try Trapster. It should work on WM
Thanks, that looks like a great tip! I'll be checking that out, see how good it is in my region.
Wikango on Android is a bit of a rip off, as they charge about 10€ for it when the iPhone version is free.
Since they released the first version, there has been no update.
Wikango runs fine on HTC G1 or Hero, but does not work on Droid and Nexus One, although there is no such info on Wikango's web site.
Finally, the devs are not answering to emails.
I have used it a lot on my G1 and, price set appart, I have been quite pleased even if, as I mentionned, there has been no updates and bugs are left uncorrected.
Since I switched to the NExus One, I'm simply unable to use it anymore :-(
Waze
Waze is well worth taking a look at too.
Great! I'll check out Waze too!
I've tried Trapster for some time, and it's not stable enough at the moment on my Topaz. When a phonecall or any other program pops at the front, the Trapster application loses its Google Maps connection, causing you to drive in a blue screen instead of on a map. It's not mature yet on WM and the devs don't respond to my message.
Trapster
Yes, I tried Trapster on my Topaz but found I could not get any display most of the time. Waze seems much better, and copes with occasional loss of data connection (important when your route home is through the countryside!)
Yeah, Waze is stable on my device. And it's fun paving roads!!
