Hi all!
Recently got an HTC Diamond2 and still am in the process or learning. It came running WM6.5 and Manila 2.1 (i think , according to TD2 tools and device info)
My question: on my Photos and Videos tab, left-side menu is Album and right-side menu is Slideshow. From various threads it looks like the menus should be (or could be) Album and Menu. And Menu allowing beaming photos (over BT) and some simple editing features.
HTC album which opens when tapped on Album menu does have a Menu menu, but no beaming.
Is it possible to get that Menu with beaming capability on my setup?
Thanks in advance for help.

You do something wrong, all the bugs are not present here.
1. Open camera album, press albums, press the desired folder on the device or storage card, press menu, press set album as favorite and it will display
2. Weather works just fine here
3. When you change wallpaper i changes only in the home tab (HTC Faulty design)
4. Works fine here
5. Works without a glitch
You do something wrong it works just fine here

now its works.. excepts the picture folder (we still cannot specify the folder of picture...)
you need to install the opal album, audio manager, before manila2d and after hard reset, or you will have unpredicted bugs
Q. How do I to change the defualt Photo Album so it will display my pictures & videos stored on my memory card?
A. Navigate to the Photos and Videos tab in Manilla, press the left softkey "Album", press the left softkey again "Albums", press Storage Card, navigate/select where your pictures and videos are stored, press right softkey "Menu", select "Set Album as Favorite"... Done!
A. Reg Key Edit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\HTCAlbum\ change favorite_folder from [CAMERA] to what ever location you want.
finally...
aaahh finally... it was my fault.. too bad that we can't uninstall manilla 2d... (in case we bored...)
Hi,
I'm still having problem 2. I've reinstalled audio manager, but it still doesn't work. I tap on weather screen and nothing happens.
Anyone has better ideas?
My music tab doesn't seem to be working as it should.
I have lots of music CDsloaded onto the storage card, and they show up when searching in the library, but I can only get a single album cover displayed on the TouchFlo page at a time.
Finger-scrolling up or down keeps the same album cover, but just changes through each trach.
How do I get to display and scroll through ALL the different albums?
I dont think you can scroll albums at that level, you have to go into library and use the album tab there to choose your album [and there is a picture of each front cover displayed on that list if you have it loaded - then scroll tracks on that album by swiping the front page
If you have a playlist with all different artists/albums on it will display the corresponding album cover, but the credenza album thing is purely an iphone feature as far as I can tell. Someone may write something for it at some stage, but dont hold your breath!
Yes, that's how it seems to be.
But looking at several demos of the Touch HD and TouchFlo 3D on YouTube, they show several album covers stacked up, and finger-scrollable just like the photos.
How do the demos show multiple album covers, when both you and I seem to be displaying only one cover at a time?
My HD shows one Cover for each Track. Try to make a single folder for every album. My HD shows one cover for all files in a folder.
So it isn't possible to flick through albums on the TouchFlo screen to select albums, it appears. I have to go into the library , select albums, and then scroll up or down.
Yes, I can see that works easily! 1 - 0 to the Ipod!!
there have been a few threads on this (though I haven't done anything about it yet as I'm still playing with other bits of the phone LOL)
from memory, a work around is to put a jpeg of the album cover in the folder - but I'm sure that there was also a more elegant solution!
or I may be just completly mis-rememberring it (in which case sorry!)
a search on coverart or album should hopefully get you in the right direction
Hi Guys,
I am new to the Android community (got the HTC Magic - Vodafone yesterday) and I love it! Just wondering if the ability to create submenus in the main menu screen comes standard?
Example: I would like to group applications together under a folder rather than just having all the applications in alphabetical order in the main menu screen. (eg all GPS apps would be in a sub menu called GPS, all games would be in sub menu called Games etc)
Thanks in advance!
Charltz
Hi,
I don't think you can change the main menu.... you can however create folders on your homescreen and drag-and-drop your apps in there...
Cheers

Hi,
I just installed the official 6.5 update but I think the WM 6.5 "Honeycomb" start menu is that damn slow when you got a lot of programs there. You have to scroll a lot and scrolling doesn't look very fluid.
Is there a way or a registry hack to get back the old HTC start menu that was delivered when the Diamond2 originally came out? The best would be if there where 4 icons in a row.
I've added a snapshot to show what I mean. Yes, as you can see on the snapshot I'm back to 6.1
My startmenu is very fluid to be honest, I got my programs and stuff sorted in folders. Like games, media (coreplayer etc), network (commanager etc), personal (phone, sms, email etc), GPS, system (total commander, resco explorer, reg edit etc). I will install SPB Screenshot and show you how it looks.
Here you go.

Its still there under the programs tab... ? or at least it is on mine...
sorry if this is a noob question, but how do i add folders to the start menu like you've done? and change icons?
I have done the same thing that you have done, Created folders in the start menu, to do this you just go to windows/startmenu and create folders in there.
However every time I soft reset my device, extra icons appear on the main start page screen. Is there any way to remove these?
I would love to go back to the HTC Start Menu as it was so much better, I know it is on a Tab on Touch Flow 3D but it defeats the point in having a hardware button to launch programs!

I totally agree. The current Startmenu lack the support for hiding items en ordering them. Love to find a solution.
I do not have any issues restructuring my start menu.
The only icons I keep on the main page are Phone and Reset, everything else is in a sub-folder and does not add icons to the main page.

True, but the TouchFlo "Programs" was much easier.
So am I the only one who's missing the drop-down menu when you tap the Start button - you know, the one that lists seven favourites and your four or five most recent programs?
Why should I navigate the Honeycomb every time I want to go to a program I use about 30 times a day?
Any fixes/hacks to bring this back? Or am I being really stupid and there's a simple option that I haven't found yet?

You can do this with Topaz Keyboard Controller: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=555821
Map the Start button to run the program "\Windows\manila.exe" with arguments "--switchtopage programs.page", and it should work perfectly - does for me.
Hi,
Coming from Windows Mobile and the "Manila" HTC Sense UI there - I miss the menu/shortcut where I had easy access to a selection of shortcuts to create a new sms/e-mail/appointment/task etc.
Is there any app or other way to create sometning similar - for instance as shortcuts on a home screen? I looked a bit at AnyCut, but I can't see how one can create such shortcuts from there...
Part of the problem here, I guess, is that I use quite a mix of software for these assignments (K9mail, Got To Do, HTC Calendar, HTC Messaging etc).
Any inputs are welcome, thanks!
I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but when you press the customize button/ long click on the main homescreen near the bottom of that screen (Above folders) is Shorcut button where you can add shortcuts to the home screen Have a look in there and see if any of those are what you want
I think he wants a group of direct shortcuts to, for example, "compose new message", "add new appointment", etc..
Basically, a "new..." menu.
You could use LauncherPro (or ADWLauncher, I assume) to do it, as long as you're not married to your Sense widgets. Long-press on the desktop, shortcuts -> activities, and experiment from there.
You could bundle all the shortcuts together in a folder on your desktop and call it a day.
I wonder if there's a widget that can do it, though.
catachresistant is on the right track...
You can put shortcuts into folders with sense too....
