Rogers is: verified

Alright thanks..
Can you tell me how to upgrade to the rogers ROM without getting the perfected SPL (Or link to a thread)
*Edit*
Also side-question : I have contacts on my HTC Magic (Running Cursorsense). I want to sync some contacts from my phone to my google account in case i switch ROMs so i can sync them back. Whenever i manually sync, the contacts dont appear in my GMAIL. How can i sync the phones contacts to gmail?

You can't yet. That is why CurseSense exist...and why those who upgraded to the official Rogers Rom with perfected SPL are desperately trying to get the attention of a developer.
Regarding sync of contacts, doesn't your phone have an option to sync all contact groups under preferences? That should match your phone's internal contacts to the google group contacts, right?

Im pretty sure you can upgrade without perfect spl lol just be careful doing it

I find that my battery drains A LOT faster with Roger's Sense. I have no problems with Cursor, though.

Can't you unpack the file and get the system files? Could you tell me how the update is? Is it RUU? Is it sappimg?

Android Market

Hi all,
Just got my unlocked HTC Magic yesterday. Purchased in Malaysia.
However, there is no access to android market (not installed on phone).
The gmail contact sync, google calander sync is also not there. anyone can help me with this?
You could always go here for your apps. Sorry can't help with the Google stuff.
Clinton
You could always try to follow one of the guides, and do a genaric reflash on the rom? Is yours a google, or htc? Easiest way to find out is to check the battery cover, if it says google or htc on it. From there, if what Clinton wrote doesn't work out, just find a guide in the development subforum, and go from there.
mine is the HTC branded one. the thing is, i am not really sure on how to proceed with reflashing the ROMs. tried reading the quides but there are some things i don't understand.
Well if you want to flash a rom you'll need to figure out which SPL your phone uses, see if it's flashable. Here's a list of the SPLs for the Magic. And Here's the guide I would fallow to do the ROM Flash and backup.
Clinton
thanks..reading up and i am starting to understand a little. will try it out later. downloading the files now (SDK,recovery,ROM)

Hi,
The daldroid rom from the links below works fine for the malaysia version of magic.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523680
hengsin, are you malaysian too? care to trade stories or help guide me?
as for rom, i am trying out *ION for TW MAGIC users (based on nk02's first release of ION rom)
edit :
i can't seem to get past getting root. when i am in fastboot and i want to create a nandroid backup or apply the update, i keep getting Can't mount SD card error.

Yes, I'm. I afraid I can offer very limited help as I don't own a magic, just helping my wife to get her full access to all google services.
I guess as long as adb and fastboot works well on your laptop, thing should be pretty straightforward. As a precaution, don't try rom that 've no positive feedback from other forum user or if you are not sure whether it is for your model ( there are 2 version of magic - pvt32a and pvt32b, the malaysia version is pvt32a ). Finally, flashing radio and spl could be dangerous, definitely not for beginner.

Low

Fews more things to add:
* the daldroid rom include both google services and microsoft exchange client. note that some of the rom out there doesn't include the htc exchange client.
* you will have to manually enter apn ( for 3g access ) after you flash your phone so do note your current apn setting down.
* backup your current rom using nandroid before flash
* a tricky thing here is the sdcard doesn't immediately comes online when you fastboot your phone, sometime u have to wait for a minute.
* the first boot after flash is very slow, be patient ( read somewhere that can use adb logcat to monitor the progress, not sure but u can try ).
i see. that is probably why i can't get the backup to work. thanks. really helpful there.
I see, thanks for the info. i take the daldroid ROM then. having both google and exchange is good for future use. Do i need to reflash the the radio and spl if i take the daldroid ROM?
Success. managed to load dildroid ROM. all working so far
Thanks to aniteshj for suggesting the reflash. and ClintonH and Hengsin for the useful useful links.
and props to the tireless people behind the guides, the ROM, the fastboots. all of you rock.

[UPDATE][OFFICIAL] HTC update for SIM Contacts

I searched and couldnt find anything,
New update released by HTC today.
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=0&dl_id=839
New update for SIM Contacts?
http://www.htc.com/uk/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=0&dl_id=839
This update for HTC HD2 allows for contacts stored on your SIM card to be properly displayed on your phone along with Phone and Exchange Server contacts.
The problem is, unlike last hotfixes, this comes in form of a RUU, so you'll loose your stuff on the phone.
It also says it's for ROMs equal or inferior to 1.59.XXX.X., which either means we'll have a new ROM soon, or that this is the new ROM (1.59). I haven't tryed it yet, but I downloaded it in case HTC deletes it. Anyone had a go yet?
What do you mean we will loose the stuff on our phone?
Funny, how did you find this update. Because its not listed anywhere in their support section......
Indeed, it is not listed on Worldwide or UK software downloads for the HD2. Could be that this is a leaked link that is about to published or a malicious link. Im not in a a paranoid mood but I'll not install until its visible in the official software download list.
Ah, if you select "Update" as the category it appears. Bad web site management means it doesn't appear in the "All" category.
I follow their RSS news. The minute there is an update, my RSS reader notifies me =)
That's how I found out.
jrvenge, using the RUU (ROM Update Utility) it warns you that "Installing this update will delete all the information on your pda phone", because it's installing a new ROM.
I just don't have the guts to backup everything, do it myself and then through all the trouble to get everything back into the phone, just because of SIMs contacts...
I did that but still nothing...

It is the latest Radio-ROM 15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07 and nothing more.
Nope, it didnt even show up on RSS...strange, anyways Im still waiting for the Swedish ROM update to come. Strange why it takes them so long just to translate the rom.. :S
I got it before it's gone. File name RUU_LEO_07662_20091217.exe with file size 12,636KB.
Whats gone ? I can still access it trough the link given..
It's back online!

Why would one mask Radio ROM update for a "SIM Contacts fix". HTC should fire cryptoidiots that have occupied their site. Guessing what another update with a silly description actually does never been so hard.
How are you so sure it is the latest radio version?
Did you install it?
I downloaded the update from their Asia site. It's a ~12 MB file. It showed up on my RSS feed, but, again, I subscribed from HTC SEA site.
Anyway, even though it looks like a RUU, it's not very drastic. I've applied the update. The only change I've noticed is that it upgraded my radio to 2.06.51.07. I was - and still am - using the stock ROM 1.48.707.2 (71294) WWE. I didn't have any contacts saved to my SIM sard, so can't really comment on the the efficacy of the actual objective of the target. :-S
Didn't delete my data or anything like that. So, didn't need to restore any backup.
Hmmmmm
donest work form Vodafone stock roms

The radio version is the same as rom 1.61. Battery life of rom 1.61 is a lot better than the 1.48 version. Is this also what you experienced.

No need to flash, a comparison is enough. It is binary identical to the Radio ROM from 1.61.

Simple question to reduce confussion

Hi all,
I have an HTC HD2 phone that I spld and now running RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe.
I purchased it from Sydney a month ago while on busniess, and now back home in the states.
I want to know, what is the safest ROM out here on XDA that I can start with and maintain updates as they come. I see that there are so many different ROMS on this forum and I am confused what is what and what do each ROM do different then others etc... and I want one and stick with it. Is that an Okay route?
I just downloaded RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe
Is this better than my other one I had running named "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.66.405.2_Radio_Signed_15.30.50.07U_2.06.51.07_Ship.exe"
To summarize, is there a cheat sheet or list of all ROMs that can work with my HTC HD2 that shows screen shots or anything that can help me isolate a ROM?
Thanks
The one you have is the best in terms of released HTC stock ROMs - that 2.10 ROM is for the T-Mobile HD2 so will have settings/restrictions on it specifically for T-Mobile customers.
I'd stick with 1.66 for the time being and then maybe look into cooked ROMs if you need other features
If you flash this 2.10 US rom you are trapped with the included SPL 2.08 (if I am coorect) and you cannot downgrade at the moment to SPL 1.42 in order to use the available HSPL 1.42.
You can still flash roms via SSPL but no radios.
Best regards,
dingolino

only if they flash using the sd card method - active sync will be fine
DonĀ“t think so.
If he starts the "offical" file:
RUU_Leo_1_5_TMOUS_2.10.531.0_Radio_Signed_15.34.50.07U_2.08.50.08_2_Ship.exe
He will flash including SPL and will have therefore the new SPL.
Only if he is using SSPL than he will keep his original SPL and his original radio, but depending on his radio the 2.10 rom might be not booting.
I guess you are right if has the HSPL1.42 allready.
Because of all the discussions about the 2.10 rom (and the implications) I think it is better thinking twice or triple before clicking on that file ...

dingolino

no it won't, it only flashed the ROM - the only way to flash an SPL back on is via sd card method. I've flashed many stock ROMs on my phone via activesync and I still have HSPL on it
if the file he downloads is an exe file, then i think it replaces everything, spl and radio
if you however extract the exe using winrar or whatever, just extract RUU_Signed.nbh - this is the ROM image, flash this with customRuu and you're sorted
Then how come I've used the stock .exe files with HSPL and it's not replaced the SPL?

indeed.
Again, only flashing via SD card method will overwrite your SPL. You can use directly an official .exe or extract it,. either way, as long as you have HSPL alrady on the phone, any flash via activesync will never overwrite your hspl
Hi, I installed the tmo us as I indicated above with no issues. I did see that the pictures are a lot better at night and the phone seems more stable.
Out of interest, if you go into the bootloader, what SPL does it show?
1 more question guys, do you think the HD2 which will be released in TMobile USA, will have their official rom, I mean 2.0 and above, so we cant install HSPL for it, right?
More than likely, yes - otherwise the ROM is pontless!!

Official ROM Upgrade for HTC HD2 (T-Mobile) UK 26/04/10 1.72.110.4

Sorry if other people have already seen this, I did a search and couldn't find anything. I just noticed that T-Mobile have released (via HTC) an official UK (and Germany and Czech Republic) a 1.72 version of the ROM for the HD2 on the 26th April 2010 (2 days ago).

Im installing now...where do I find that info ? biggest noob of em all
Is this just for T Mobile usres as the name sugests??
Im on O2, completely new to Winmo and smart phones at that!!!
Not rele sure what i need to do, but im trying to sort things out.
No to 3.5..... shocker
Manila 2012 but I can't see any differences over the former 1920..... please feel free to correct me
Personally, I can't see / feel many if any decent changes.......
If you install, your phone will be as you originally received it (save the updated software) so you will have to re-install everything...
If I had the previous 1.43 I would flash back...
I havent added anything as yet as i only had it since monday!!
Sorry to sound dumb, was is flash back??
Then you have nothing to worry about....
is there some sort of changelog for this?
please do report on what its like, particularly stability and messaging
then i might do my first HD2 flash...
i upgraded from original 1.43 stock rom and must say its a lot smoother than before, doesnt freeze up as much very little lagging.
no real difference in battery life, maybe a touch better but the main difference for me is that HTC messaging works instead of me having to rever back to wm messaging.
also, it came with .net 3.5 so i dont know why others have said it doesnt.
well im sold!
will DL and flash tonight!
thanks for the report jonyid
Any Ideas

What ROM are you using, as T-MobUK have only had 1.43 and now 1.72?
I am also with T-MobUK but I quickly dumped ROM 1.43, HSPL'd and went for the HTC standard WWE 1.66 ROM. Since T-MobUK 1.72 is WWE1.66 with T-Mob bloatware added, then there is no point updating.
If you really want the 1.72 ROM, I'll get it for you.

I recently upgraded my Tmobile 1.43 Rom to the new 1.72.110.4 from the HTC website. So far it seems to be ok. Not much of a difference: Solitaire and Bubble breaker have been added, You Tube, Bing search and one or two additions as well. Most importanly however is the performance of the HTC messaging program. I used PIM back toback up for my text messages, contacts, calender. Ugraded the ROM, (took about 10mins or less) and restored text messages from the back up file.
Restore process showed me 7000+ texts copied to the device. Restarted the device, checked messaging and got the "restoring messages" status bar. Took about 1 hour since then, I have noticed a marked improvement in the HTC messaging application. Can now continue using the phone even when a text comes in, can delete without having to wait ages for the device to start up again.
BTW I have some apps installed: TomTom 6, Swype, Skype, TCPMP player, Registry editor, etc.
Hope that information helps or encourages someone!
does anyone know if its possible to go back to the 1.43 ROM??? (just curious....)
Noob question here... as I have flashed my device and installed a custom ROM (or many) already will this take HSPL off my device? Will it be ok to do the normal install or will it brick my device?
I'm just trying to get my phone back to stock Rom levels as I need to return it to Tmobile and this is the only place I've managed to find the TmobileUK stock ROM.
Help? Please?!
Can anyone help with this at all? Please?!

[Q] Few X8 Questions

Fist i want to say hello to all of X8 comunity members.
I'm not new to android phones, i had few but i'm new with SE Xperia phones.
I need help with few things.
First question: Does flashing update or repair ROM with SEUS unroots rooted phone and puts it in original out of the box system. Just in case phone need to go to warrnty service.
Second question: My phone is Model E15i Firmware 2.1-Update 1 2.1.1.A.0.6 but it has some small setups from Serbian Telenor provider. Is there some Europian Open, nonbranded ROM 2.1.1.A.0.6 version and how could i install it.
Third question: Is there any other app for caledar and contacts. Because this original SE apps are really bad. Calendar can't get further then 1990 and it messed up sync with google calendar when birthdays and anniversary are in sync. And in Contact app also can't be added contact's birthday or anniversary.
Thank you.
-seus makes your phone clean and then loads rom so I think it unroots rooted phones. so do flashing. repairing phone with seus is just automatic flashing with latest official software,
-i think there are some non branded roms. just search in apropriate topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=849
-there are lots of such apps in market search and download whatever you like
With the "SuperOneClick" program you can both root and unroot your phone so you do not even need to reinstall the stock rom.
WELCOME to the club!!!!
P.S.: Do not wait an update from SE. Here you prey to devs
Thank you.
I don't use original roms on HTC Tattoo and Optimus One P500 won't be using original one on X8 for long too only XDA.
Repair/update clean your phone... even if you had it rooted or sth else... after you are clean and they can not trace what you done.
Root has to do with your rom, there are roms rooted by default and others (like official) that you have to root them. So as repair/update install a rom in your phone, its up to the rom if it will be rooted or not.
I'm looking for an app instead of stock contacts too but without success.
I'm having some troubles with my contacts sync with my facebook and google accounts.
