sorry i think you miss read my post but i want to add IGO in to quick links but i cant find in on the list..... how do i add it?
Install Total Commander and look for the iGO exe from your SD card and create a shortcut to your windows program page. From there, you can go to quick link > programs...and it should be there.
sorry im such a noob! but were do i put the shortcut?
Hi again,
I don't know anything about IGO but if you are saying that when you click and hold a quicklink, then select program to add, and you can't find Igo on the list then do what Lude 219 is suggesting.
What he is saying is:
- Install a tool called Total Commander
- Use total commander to view the files on your device
- Navigate to your Windows folder and scroll down until you find the Igo exe file (probably called igo.exe)
- Copy this file and paste it into your \Start Menu\Programs folder
- Quit out of Total Commander and go to your front screen
- Click on the Quickling again, scroll down the list and you should see the Igo file that you copied int there earlier
- Select that file
- Job done.
Hope this helps

Does any one know a way to make a shortcut to display the Start Menu (like clicking Start) or the Programs folder (like clicking click Start -> Programs)? The shortcut must point to a file and cannot point to a folder. I'm hoping that there is some prog file to do that, very much like the way ctlpnl.exe displays Control Panel.
I need it very much. Any help will be strongly appreciated.
Thanks.

HTC Home's folderview.exe opens up the Start Menu Programs view. It should be somewhere on these forums, or you can extract a cab for HTC Home and grab the folderview.exe
@Azimuth21: Gracias. 谢谢. Merci. Thank you. That is precisely what I'm looking for!!!
@doedoe: I know I'm not an expert but I'm not too n00b to know how to create link files. I was asking about something very specific and I have done enough search both on and off the forum to be confident that there is no way other than luck to find the answer for my question without knowing about folderview.exe. And what do you mean by:

Hey,
I have iGo8 installed on my touch diamond.. but just by moving it to my storage card(no installation).. But now it isn't viewable in my installed programs sections.. so there is no shortcut now..
Is there a way to make a shortcut, or make it look like the software is installed?
tia
Go to the exe in the iGo8 directory and tap and hold on it>copy. Navigate to windows>start menu>program files>paste shortcut there.
works like a treat..
thanks!
only thing now is that.. iGo doesn't seem to save my configurations.. any ideas on that one?
i do exit by shutting it down..

Yeah you can create one with registry editors or you can manually create one like this.....
create a new doc and type the directory
\storage card\program files\{{{program.exe}}}\
or whatever then count the characters and put tht number in the beggining folled by a pound sign and put parinthacies around the directory..... should look something like this....
46#"\storage card\program files\{{{program.exe}}}\"
save as a .txt file
{{{program name}}}.txt
then rename the .txt as .lnk
lemme no if need more help than that
Hello!
Is there any standalone cab or reg fix so you can have the name of the program under the icon in the Program tab?
EDIT: and when you go into Program from the start menu, can you move the icons in there to a specific map so you can get the program view a little more organized?
You can move all the programs around and rename the files by using total commander or resco file explorer.
I have done this to organise the folder into many sub-folders.
Thank you Dave!
Now for the name under program tabs, couple of cooked roms that have the feature in them so there should be a easy way like a cab or a reg-hack

Sorry - I meant the program view in the START menu not the TAB (you had both).
I don't now use the program TAB in TF3D as I have all the programs organised in sub-folders under windows\programs and windows\office mobile.
I use that with quick menu and it's so much faster for my many apps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3117017&highlight=secondtoday#post3117017 - it's grown since then !!)

Yeah, I realized that you mean't the ones that you access by the start menu and got it fixed, just need the solution for my main issue. Will try yours though, but if anyone know how to fix the names please tell anyway!

Yeah I know, installed it right away when it came but there were a few things on there that didn't suited me (big props to duffy anyway) so I would really like to have a solution that doesn't require a whole rom.
Hi is there a better weather that can run from the touch flo buttons. With the default one i cant get a town near to me the nearest is 10 miles away, so the weather is out.
Thanks
as a newb to WM i had tha same problem, but after a few questions on here and some help from
Hamz22 and jamie walsh i got it sorted, big thanks to them and i hope this helps other newbs like me
so for all those newbs here is how you change the weather location to places not listed in the default program on the TP2
1.Download and instal total commander http://ghisler.fileburst.com/ce/tcmdpocketarm.cab
, also instal net framework 3.5
2.once installed open TC up and look in the phones windows directroy for this file 2330fc3c_manila
3. when you find it using TC copy it to the stoagr card on your phone
a box will come up and the location wiil be \\windows**, to save it stoagecard change the location to \Storage card and then click copy
4. still in TC go to the storage card and find the file , open the file details in TC its the right hand side button on the top row of commands, and uncheck the read only box
5.now using TC copy this file back to its original windows directory on the phone.
6. download the weather location app and install on the phone version 1.20 is needed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=120460&d=1223638121
using this you can now add towns and cities
to get the Accu view weather location for your area if in the uk go here
http://www.accuweather.com/world-in...ather&traveler=0&loccode=EUR|UK|UK108|Chorley
as you can see this location is for chorley so the accu code for that is EUR|UK|UK108|Chorley
once you have added a new town etc you need to do a soft reset for to be able to use it
just to add heres some fun codes to add
Death valley 92328(for america it uses the zip code)
south pole ANT|AQ|AQ---|SOUTH+POLE
cool cheers I found this but could not find the xml file so hopefully will be bale to use your method

i get an error telling me i need a newer version of the .net framework.
sorry you need to have 3.5 net framework installed a search on here will find it
Cheers . Got it too work . Impressed i actucally found my village on the place list in accuweather.
just confirming this worked like a charm
Sorry guys didn't work for me... 1.2 is saying "file write protection of database couldn't removed"... tried 1.1 modified.... but touch flo restarts every time... i click on it( i checked that read only is unchecked in windows folder for that file...
OK...I figured it out... some of the steps..are other way around for me...somehow...
1) before installing Weather Editor 1.2 - go to windows folder find the file "2330fc3c_manila" - I used Resco explorer 7.05 to go to properties of file to uncheck "read only" (note that if u press once the check wont disappear..it will become transparent - double click makes it disappear completely) - then confirm changes to the system by pressing yes in the appeared window....
2) install weather editor 1.2, launch it go to find the country u need.... press edit to click cities...and add your city with accu code
3) restart your phone
4) go to weather pad in touch flo and add your city
work for me...however u can't delete the weather editor after it... it deletes the file and substitutes it with original one...
now another problem: clock... I found my city there... and now it confuses the time zone... London time should be the same with Durham... but it says its different...that is why it causes other clock to be different if u just simply change it to real time... is there any way to force it to correctly identify time zone?

Sweet, awesomeness weather app, now in a town near me! w00t. Cheers for the info dude.
Just confirming that it worked for me also.
Thanks-a-mil - great work.
It works fine for the weather tab, but unfortunately if I set my location in the clock to to the same place it is 13 hours behind!
I've checked the entry from accuweather which is EUR|UK|UK199|Redcar and it all seems fine
Very confusing
same problem for me - I reportede it in several threads - no reply yet
Brilliant! Thank you! My local time is set right but everywhere else in the UK is 13 hours ahead! Oh well! At least I know what time it is where I am.
I edited on PC 2330fc3c_manila.dll file from Windows folder on PPC, edited it with SQLite Administrator
HTML:
http://sqliteadmin.orbmu2k.de/
just check last fields (timezone and msid) in cities section for your town and copy them from nearest one to your town (geographically)

Thanks xGuess, now I don't have to pretend that I come from Newcastle!
I'm sorry! I don't understand? Wasn't bothering me until the computer started changing the time. Ment I missed all my appointments! Please could you say again how you correct the time? Thanks!
Two posts up ^^^ Wot he said!
Did it! Thanks! Took me ages to open the table! Then even longer to realise I had to copy it to my computer rather than editing it from the storage card. Oh well, it's done now! Thanks for your help! Is excellent!
So what gps application do you find suit the small screenresolution best?
Cheers
Adam
iGO8 it's an excellent application for this phone. You might find it little bit hard to install but once done is great.
Nice! I'm going to try it out!! Thanks for your time
Peace

Eh how'd you get TomTOm working? Could you guide me please? Mine says "Not compatible with device"......
Hi there, finally iv'e had some time to engage in installing IGO8 on my Mega. The installation went fine and everything seems ok, except for that I havn't actually tried it outside yet....
I do have one problem though and maybe someone of you helpful chaps can assist me The problem is that there isn't any shortcut in programs to the app so I can put it in the programs tab.
Only way to start it is to go into the installation folder and click the .exe file
Adam
Hmmm update:
All I needed to do is to restart the phone However the program doesn't start as it should... I still need to go in the file manager to manually click the .exe file. I think that the shortcut from the "program tab" is pointing to the wrong file. If that would be the problem do anyone here know how to redirect it to the right place?? :0
Adam
Well I switched to tomtom 7 and it worked great and is really easy to use!! I strongly recommend tomtom7!!
Cheers
Adam
iGo 8

Open iGO folder and search for iGO.exe -> menu -> edit -> copy
Open \Windows\StartMenu\Programs -> menu -> edit -> paste shortcut
Delete the old shortcut and rename the new one to iGo.
I have been using both tomtom and ndrive. Both have very detailed maps that never let me down though i find myself using ndrive more because i like the way their poi database is structured. Each poi gives you very detailed information and most even include a reference photo.
Hi, I have already used Sygic Mobile Maps 2009, and I think that its the best navi for this device.
I use Garmin and MapKing.
