activesync won't sync - memory error - HD2 General

I have had my HD2 a couple of days. Everything was ok, activesync worked etc.
Tonight i keep getting an error 8007000e - There is not enough free memory on your device to syncronize information. to free up memory, please close programs that are running, or restart your device.
I have closed all programs and there is lots of free space and memory.
Any ideas?

Just started getting "storage memory is critically low&

Hope somebody can give me a quick answer to this one.
I got up this morning to find that my MDA Pro is now reporting the "storage memory is critically low" error. Previous to this I'm *sure* it had at least 5Mb available. I've not installed anything (for weeks) so really can't understand it. What it has done in the meantime is synced my mail but all attachments are due to be soted on teh stoage card (but when checking the mail account settings there are currently 0k of attachments being stored).
I have soft-reset the device with no change in the storage space.
What I'd like to find is a utility that will tell me folder sizes so I can see what is being taken up where .... can't seem to find anything as yet that is free.
Any suggestions for software or any suggestions full stop?
mate,
I had a similar issue, check you haven't been inadvertently pressing the record button and making note recordings.
Go into notes and check it from there
Cheers

That's what it was for me. Well, something very similar.
check the internet cache and the terminal server cache if you use it, these can grow quickly without realising. I have started immediately deleting cache content everytime I finish.
ie menu tools options, 2nd tab delete offline.
That is true. I gained 13MB by deleteing the offline cache files.
Yup I.E. Cache, plus, i also had my emails (mainly voicemail .wav file attachments) saving onto the main memory, it's in the messages folder under windows.
I deleted those, and moved my storage for my email attachments to my SD card.
Freed up like 15mb like this..
Great work
Many thanks guys, I have been searching for all sorts of methods to free up some memory. I had installed alot of programes on my XDA Exec and thought I have used up all my memory and was strugling to get some memory back. But this trick of deleting offline files from the Internet Explorer is just given me 13.77MB. Walla, many thanks again.
cache size
I think the problem is that the cache size is set to some ridiculously high number in the registry, but there's no way to change it. I tried many times to reduce it from the apparent 16MB setting (I think it was 16MB) in MemMaid, but after a soft reset, it goes back to 16MB. Anybody have a solution to this?
Get Memmaid and run it once in a while..
Just started getting "storage memory is critically low
I use Memmaid and got it to put my IE & Avantgo cache on SD card

can you walk me through how this would work. Do I just cut and paste the folder. Will I still be able to access the attachments?

Losing storage memory

Hi folks,
I'm running into a very annoying problem with my HTC TyTN. I seem to be losing storage memory on a daily basis. I haven't installed any new app for a long time and I've been losing about .1 MB a day of storage memory. I use the PIM applications a lot (Pocket Informant 2007 actually) but I don't see how my PIM database could have expanded to an additionnal 5 MB in the last 2 months. (My calendar goes back to 2001 with many appointments, I have more than 2000 Contacts, about 300 notes and no tasks). My PIM database has probably grown between in information from 2 to 5 % Max of the size it was 2 months ago (which probably used a lot let than 1 MB) and now I'm missing more than 5 MB on my storage memory which doesn't make sense.1
In addition, I've used a bunch of memory freeing apps but that didn't affect my storage memory.
I have no idea how to solve this problem and I'm soon not gonna be able to go on using my HTC TyTN since I won't have any available memory on it.
Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
I have noticed that performing a soft reset restores some memory. I say this in passing as it probably won't help in your case. I also notice that the true memory position is not reported after using clear out apps until a soft reset is done.
Mike
Just a thought, but do you use PIE much? If so, you might just need to clear the cache out. That might be an issue... maybe.
I have done many soft resets but that didn't change anything. I also clear PIE cache on a daily basis. No change so far...
I do receive many MMS and SMS everyday but always delete them (including in the deleted items folder). I'm guessing maybe I need to "purge" the messages database... I just don't know how to do that and where it is stored.
I've had a problems with my inboxes since I did a hard reset a few months ago. I have duplicate folders in my inboxes (2 deleted items, 2 sent items etc...) for my MMS and SMS messages. I was never able to restore the default configuration (I tried to restore and hard reset many times).
Maybe this is linked...
Sorry for keeping answering to myself...
I've used MemMaid and managed to free more than 10 MB of storage memory... It seems the problem was my bloated .dll that I was able to move to my memory card...
Hope this will help others!

Uninstall not working?

I have a very strange problem. When I go add/remove programs it only will show me storage card. This empty of course but it won't let me change it to anything else nor allow me uninstall anything!?
I think this is also affecting active sync as I get an error every time I try it, even after i reinstall active sync.
Remove Programs only says Programs in storage memory:
Also there isn't anything that shows the amount of storage memory available.
TIA

Memory Card Memory Usage Issue

I have suddenly discovered that my 512 MB storage card is down to about 15 MB available, although the visible files don't remotely account for this memory usage. A utility does show two very large apparently mail-related databases, that together account for about 320 MB. These are pmailMsgs in volume cemail.vol and ReplStor in volume \ReplStorVol. While I don't know for sure, I assume these are on the storage card and not in main memory. What are these and can they safely be deleted or shrunken?
I am running WM5 and BBConnect, have no stored SMS, MMS or non-Blackberry e-mail and only about 11 e-mails in the Blackberry store. If something else might be eating up the storage card memory, I would of course be interested in that as well.

Storage memory

Hi guys
Had a shock yesterday.
After installing most my apps to storage memory and sync'ing, the phone started complaining it didn't have much storage memory left and wanted me to delete stuff. I checked ... and it was all used.
Upon resetting the machine ... it hung at the lock screen. All I could do was hard reset and start installs again.
I have done that and put all but my 3 webis apps (PI, FM, Note2Self), CPL (doesn't give you a choice where binaries go .. but maps go to SD) and MobileShell3.5 (takes about 10mg) to SD.
Following this ... I have 95m of the 181.60m free.
As soon as you sync (particularly Outlook Mail) this reduces to less than 82m (no attachments ... just a week of mails with a max download of 50k per mail - 270 mails so far).
This is a little worrying ... I didn't think storage memory would prove to be an issue.
Anyone else got any thoughts on this ?
Paul.
P.S. I have a 16GB MicroSDHC (SanDisk)
