I have a question:
I would buy the HTC magic in Belgium (proximus) where I am for work, but in a few months I have to go back to my country (Italy) and I still would like to use my phone with the sim card of my italian operator (Vodafone). I understood that I cannot. Why? is the phon blocked to the proximus sim? This is very strange to me because it means that I can use the phone only in one country.
Anyone can avoid me from buing something I can use only in Belgium.

I have bought a X1 in Germany, was apparently simlocked, but works perfectly in LUxembourg with Luxembourg Tango card. Now I am in Germany and people can call me but I cannot call and there is an airplane symbol next to the signal one. So it looks like it is simlocked in Germany only. I have ordered and got the 8 digit code with htccode.com, but I do not know where to enter it. WHAT CAN I DO???? PLEASE HELP!!!!
My PDA model is htc touch P3450. I bought it 2 years ago from USA. By mistake i updated ROM by T-mobile MDA touch. After that my PDA Sim is not working and i could not get operator network. I am a Bangladeshi and live in Bangladesh, so in my country there is no T-mobile operator.

Hi, I bought from spain a HD2, the phone is marked from vodafone (grabbed by the seller under a contract). anyone know if the vodafone spain lock the sim (insert the sim lock) on these terminals?
if the phone is lock, what i do? i can use this site http://www.htc-hd2.it, is secure?

Expected delivery 5/11. You can get them in combination with T-Mobile (and others), or if you already have a T-Mobile subscription, you can get the Trophy and extend your T-Mobile subscription.
you can also get the vodafone version.
Doesn't come with a sim-lock so your t-mobile sim should work fine with it.
I'm using mine with KPN Hi sim.
No branding on the phone, and the only thing showing that it is an vodafone device is the bootlogo.
And in the future i'm pretty sure we'll be able to change that.

I'm using HTC 7 Trophy in Slovakia. I tried Orange and T-Mobile SIM and both works fine, but I get wrong carrier name:
Orange is shown as T-Mobile CZ,
T-Mobile is shown as Eurotel - CZ,
as long as I search networks I see O2 as "23106"
Is there any way to fix this? The phone was bought in Austria A1 Shop.

same here in germany. my carrier said that microsoft currently did not open the way for carriers to send konfiguration data through sms/mms to change settings.
thats way windows phone 7 devices chooses the carrier its "having" in their list ...
hmmm, hope that this "bug" has nothing to do with roaming charges, interconnection payments etc.

It's just the name of the mobile network. There is a tiny database on your phone('s radio ROM, I presume) looking up the correct name for your network based on the network ID(23106). Flashing your phone to (a more) recent version should resolve this (in the future) since it updates this database on your phone.
Check out http://numberportabilitylookup.com/networks to retreive a (complete) list of networks.
I have locale to Czech (on HTC 7 Trophy) and carrier is "Vodafone CZyyyy", where is the problem and why? Fix it an update? In English locale is OK, "Vodafone CZ"...
