Oh yea by the way, is flashing a kernel the same procedure as flashing a rom? Thanks.

No...flashing a kernel only replaces the kernel portion of the ROM. The software and customizations remain intact.
I put Modaco's custom Rom over TTG 0.1.6 and Fresh 1.1 without issues.
I meant is it applied the same way. And I wanted to put Gumbos rom on it as I read thats fastest.

The dev who built that ROM also built a kernel that goes with it. If you want to flash the Gumbo ROM, then look into the Gumbo kernel as well. Theres nothin wrong Modacos though.

Oops...sorry, completely misread that.
Yes...it is applied the same way.
Apply the rom first, then the kernel. Otherwise the rom will overwrite the kernel.

Use titanium to backup all apps. You can get that from the market it's free.I use that myself and it's a great program
You don't need to wipe, just flash it over Gumbo.

That's because the kernel isn't compatible with a 2.x radio.
Why would you want a hero rom on a dream?

2nd that. They all suck. Pretty to look at, but dont expect anything to work fast. Even with all the tweaking and tryin all the sense roms, there is no hope. The dream is under powered hardware wise, so stick with an eclair ROM for the best daily use and prettiness.
on my hd2 when i boot up android and try to call people i get this robotic sound and the music goes to fast how do i fix this problem?
are you using a stock winmo rom? if yes then you need to load a custom rom

a custom rom? where can i get that? sorry am new to the htc thing
Here's the flashing guide.
Just be careful - use the right guide according to your HD2 model (aka. is it a T-mobile model or not?)

wow ok thx !!!
Hi. I am keen to learn how to port a Gingerbread ROM which I like to HD2 and would appreciate if someone could advice or recommend me the place to start. The closest I found was in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898215 but someone mentioned that it is already outdated as the advice would only work with older android version.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

I am not sure if this is call making an android Rom ... what I want to know is if I see a good gingerbread rom from the HTC desire for example, how can I "cook" it for hd2?
Yeah I think u mean making, cooking a rom for HD2,not flashing it to HD2 ,right?
I think u need to put alot of time to make a good stable rom.that's y I prefer to download one and just flash it and see how it runs

Yes. I am not referring to flashing it but cooking it for hd2. I have already tried a couple of the custom Gingerbread Rom for hd2 but am not entirely satisfied so I decide to cook one for myself based on the other HTC handsets.
Aha I see,I'm using BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA GINGER 2.3.3 RAM_V5 and so far it's great.
ppl also recommend this:
TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 RC2 v2.6.2 [2.3.3][A2SD][tytung r7]
but if u wanna make ur own rom ,if I'm not wrong u can find a Chief program easy to cook a rom for ur desires ,but I'm not 100 percent sure it's an entire rom or just the interface ,I never tried that, have a look at that.
Been using TyphooN CyanogenMod 7 rom on my device this rom updates very quickly

Yes you can. My friend flashed Cronos Gingerbread 2.0.1 (without any porting) and Magic kernel (on new radio) and it works. But always make nandroid backup.

The Hero and the Magic, is hardware-wise, pretty similar.. Just don't expect everything to be working out of the box..

On ROM-level they are quite similar. Not sure how Sense ROMs turn out, as they use some kernel-specifics (decoding of certain file-types etc.) but mostly still functional though. Camera might be a a little pain as well

so If i have magic with new radio (6.35), it is possible to flash pure Hero rom (not only Cronos gingerbread)?..
is it need only new radio or need anything else?
Go to recovery, make backup, wipe, flash hero rom, flash magic kernel and reboot
