Make sure its named right. Should be "zImage".

Just tried it again to make sure and still no go

Redownload it. Maybe your file is corrupted. It works fine for me booting from HaReT.

Redownloaded 6 times lol are there any updates with the new kernel? And if so what are they?

I checked the logs.
The 2/2 kernel isn't any different than the 2/1 kernel (for the vogue).
If it's not working, then don't worry. All he added was 3D support for Kaiser.

I'm currently using the 1/14 kernel

Are you running Android from ext2 partitions? Or just one Fat32?

Just fat32. I'm not sure what the other is

I just downloaded all new basefiles and still doesn't work. I mean if there really is no change to this from the 1/14 kernel then I wont bother

There are some large changes in this version. New GPS support is included, that requires an updated rootfs. Look in the GPS thread.
You can try the attached, it's the same 2/2 compiled by me.

Thank you so much! I used your zimage and the new rootfs and it worked. Besides the Bluetooth what are the changes?

[BUILD][11-22-2010][JDMode 1.0][Hastarin R8.4][PPP]

WELCOME TO JDMode!!
About the build
As you guys know, I have a JDMS 1.5 build which is working pretty stable and working nice for me. So, I decided to stick with the defrost base and not drop it, instead, I decided to release another stable builds with different bases. I was looking around and came by this rom by AdamG named Oxygen. Then I decided to work on this rom by adding some tweaks and apps to make it stable for HTC Leo users. AdamG also did really good job adding features. Keep in mind, the rom still in beta, more features will be added later on. Read more about the rom here
Features
FM Radio
Stable PPP connection, no need for an rmnet build...(Thanks to latema)
Fast speed build without lagg or sod
Pretty cool theme
Automatic brightness works 100%
LedMeKnow app included to control led notifications..
There is a lot more to list...
Working
Everything is working for me...
Installition and tips
Extract the Android folder (with all files in in) to root of your SD Card. THIS IS IMPORTANT.
- You canot keep your data.img from other roms... Do a clean install please..(You can try if you want but don't come here crying )
- If you already have an Android folder on your SD Card DELETE IT OR RENAME IT, because this version MAY BE INCOMPATIBILE with older releases !!!
- After copyng everything to your SD Card ensure you have at least 600 Mb free space for data store
- After you have done all steps go into Android folder and tap CLRCAD (for working sound), and after that just tap HaRET.
- On first run when there is an black htc logo, just give it time to complete, and wait for the data.img to be created.
- If you get some strange errors, or Android does not work, try to reformat SD card and try everything from the start.
If that does not help, I suggest you to change your rom and radio with my personal ones(Check my siggy!!!)

No, description says 'Oxygen' based, not CM6.
By the way, I kinda dig the theme. I's a bit overdone here and there, but it's got some really nice elements! Gonna stick with JDMS for now though, don't wanna give up on the CM features.

I haven't tried either of atoore's builds, but I would assume that if you're trying to upgrade from his 1.5 build (different base, kernel, etc) to THIS 1.0 build, you might have a problem.. Try a clean install and see if that makes any difference. Hope this helps

froyo x red not working

downloaded this android http://www.multiupload.com/KOY1IS2G8L
when i run haret i get these error messages
line 8: Expected <varname>
unknown keyword: 'INITRD_OFFSET'

but then android starts up normally?!
i get the sprint and 4g animations
then its asks me to launch using either launcher which or zeam, i used both and they both are different in layout, i normally use launcher,

Well, use the latest(first in list) htc-msm-linux. After the download completes, copy and rename zImage**** to zImage(replace the old zImage) the modules don't need rename, just delete the old modules. I've already posted that in the gingerbread thread, you can read it, take a look at the video, you will like it, I like it
more than FROYO X (I'm talking about the Gingerbread)

Gingerbread is much better than froyo in general, but as I say there is a lot of work to do (the developers)!

I'll tell you how I'm doing it. I've just downloaded the gingerbread image, I used to boot it
with the pack(haret+startup) of froyo x, and I've updated the kernel, and modules ofcourse, and rootfs optionally! And it works for me.
BTW, try to put the device into 'Airplane Mode' and tell us if it freezes.
I'm really tired now, I'm coming back from work, so bye!

Read that thread and follow the instructions there.
If you cant solve it with those instructions your are much more likely to get an answer from someone with experience with the build or even the creator of the build. Any complaint of a crash or nonstart should come hand in hand with a log.

[AnyKernel][MOD] Tbolt Kernel Updater

Ihtfp69 tip toes in and closes the door
I realized after releasing a ROM that no one was using Koush's AnyKernel method for flashing kernels. This poses a problem for ROMs with custom ramdisks. Someone mentioned the AnyKernel method did not work on this phone. So I did some investigating. With a few changes to the script, I have it working perfectly.
Credits here, of course, go to Koush. I just modified his script. The kernel zip attached here contains the kernel from the latest leak. Because this uses the AnyKernel method, you can flash this on ANY GB Sense ROM and it will work and not break WiFi.
EDIT: I guess Ziggy did a version as well a few months ago. Here is a link to his: Ziggy's AnyKernel MOD

Hmmm ... it shouldn't matter, but I will wake a look and see if I can duplicate it. Make sure the file you downloaded is around 3.4 MB. If not, grab it again.

oh, yeah, forgot to mention that I copied the 2 files (bcm4329* and sequans*) from the target ROM into /system/lib/modules After I had flashed. Should I have copied it to the .zip first and then flashed it? does it sit anywhere other than /system/lib/modules?
The reason i didnt do it is because I assumed the existing files should work.

The bcm spits out at the end of compiling the kernel and it is specific to the kernel. Pull the zimage and the modules from the ROM, put them in the correct folders in the zip ... Wipe Cache and Dalvik for kicks and flash. Should be fine.

Which overclock.ko and symsearch.ko are you using? It could be that you have incompatible ones. The Milestone (A853) has the 2.6.32 froyo kernel, but we're stuck with 2.6.29 eclair kernel. In particular symsearch.ko had to be adapted for 2.6.29. The versions on our github have been modified and recompiled for 2.6.29: https://github.com/CyanogenModXT720...sholest/tree/gingerbread/prebuilt/lib/modules (note that overclock.ko requires a working symsearch.ko is loaded first)
I installed it and it is pretty good at the first look. You can install it using the xt720 bootfix, the only thing missing are gapps and i tried installing them after, but it doesnt work for me. Average RAM is about 50-60 M and it runs pretty smooth, hope to see more from you soon
EDIT: After reboot the gapps appeared

If someone can try with the mod one (i have less than 2Mo free in the system rom...)
And i use the first bootfix for motoroi rom (and i clear all before and after the flash)
I had to reinstall gapps cause it can t sync my contact with out it (it only sync gmail and drive)
I had a little chinese everywhere in the beginning but after 2reboot all were gone. The only thing is that the OK is on the right and the cancel is on the left (not a big deal but it surprise at the beginning...)
App2ext works fine; the playstore too; and youtube too
I can t take pics with the camera (it launch it but don t answer after) edit: i try again and it take a picture but fc just after...
edit2:after a few uninstall (dspmanager; gtalk...) i sucess to take a picture in 8Mo (it was long....) and i film in 720p but i can t open it (and when i take the film it was very slow about 1image/s...)

initrd.gz problems

I am at a loss here. I am running CLK 1.5 PA 1.1a with tytung r3, however, the device gets icon flash similar to icecreamtosti, where the icons do not respond without a reboot.
I wanted to flash Dorimanx v6.9 or v7.2 HWA, and understand I need to place the ROMs initrd.gz file in the initrd-custom folder. I have tried this on Snow Leopard & XP to no avail using a variety of different compression programs including 7-zip. I unzip the kernel and the ROM, put the PA 1.1a initrd.gz in the correct folder and rezip it. Each time though, even after re-downloading the kernel and ROM, I get an error within CWM, which reads that the installation has been aborted. Why is this? Do I need to re-compile the kernel in Android Kitchen? (I do not know how to do this by the way) or what else am I doing incorrectly? I have trawled the XDA HD2 forum, but had no luck. Suggestions?

You don't unzip the contents. By doing so you break the signing. What you wanna do is open your ROM zip using 7 zip then browse to the initrd.gz file copy to your desktop, close everything. Now open the kernel zip file browse to the initrd-custom folder open it. Now double click and drag the initrd.gz file from your desktop to the 7-zip window which has the kernel zip opened to the initrd-custom folder.

Have you tried installing the kernel without adding the initrd.gz? I remember getting that error when the download was inturupted or something. So if you still get that error without editing the zip, then it most likely is the zip file and you need to redownload. Because if you did exactly as i said then it should be working. Im a long time user of his kernel's on almost every ROM out there and never once ran into any troubles. But we will surely figure this out
Can you post a link to the ROM you are using, and i'll download it and edit the kernel then repost it in this thread for you.

Thank you so much, I wanted to experiment whether v6.9 is better than v7.2. Would it be possible to repack that kernel too?

Haha yes I could, I personally preferred 7.2 over 6.9 but my favorite is 6.5D xP
Did you flash the zip yet?

I flashed it with success, but it doesn't feel as snappy as tytung r3, it takes a few seconds to unlock and load programs, even clocked at 1612mhz and experimenting with ZRAM on and off. Thank you though, I will probably stick with tytung's for the moment though, did you use 7-zip to transfer the initrd.gz file?

Hmm i wonder if its cause i took the initrd.gz from an older version of Paranoidandroid. I have version .6 on my computer thats why i used it. I'll redownload the latest and try with that. I might even flash it myself and test it out. Maybe the lib files need to be transfered as well. Dorimanx has by far been the best kernel for myself, but i dont really care for ICS yet but when i was testing the waters i used DM kernel and i loved it. Snappy responsive and pretty awesome. It just lacks a boat load of features i rely on in CM7. CM9 claimed they will re add the features once they iron kinks out so once they release a better build i will most likely convert

Very curious by this statement, and admittedly, my own android experience is limited... I've used ACA SD android for a number of months, and have switched over to ICS. Currently with ICT & DM's 6.9 kernel, but love the UI in hybrid mode of PA... and so, am really curious what you meant when you alluded to 'missing features' that were in CM7, but not CM9. What was lost? What am I missing? (sincere question) Thanks, -Rob

Well, there are two that i pretty much LOVE and cannot live without xD
Those are,
1. Disable full screen (status bar remains visible no matter the app, has a "hide" button if you wish to use full screen in a game or app, then you can unhide by pressing home key(my choice))
2. Really big one, lockscreen gestures. I love being able to draw a 'C' on my lockscreen and open the phone whitout having a custom app slot being taken up. Plus, gestures allow for an app to run while still displaying the lockscreen.
THose are the only two big ones i will miss, there are a few more small ones but i dont remember without flashing CM9 and checking And its been awhile since ive tested the waters, so i might download the latest AOKP and CM9 to see where they are at. But they both are good and pretty cool. CM7 is just perfect for me. No issues what so ever.

It would be brilliant if you could test out the kernel with the initrd.gz from 1.1a PA, that might explain why it felt slow when I tested the original.
