In cause of the fact, that my most favorite ROM cooker dutty has stopped the 576 RAM tweak for further german/non WWE ROM versions, I will have to look for an alternative.
Please post the name of the ROM with the 576 MB RAM tweak and german OS language, thread link and ROM version for an short overview for other german user; I'll start:
duttythroy: Duttys Leo V1.4 (higher german versions are only offering 448MB again! Only version >1.4 in WWE will support 576 MB RAM.)
anja31: |ROM|TEST|GERMAN only|21889 based on 2.02 xip
pkober: [rom][ger][01/02/10]EPS HD2 21890 576MB enabled [online]
RideTheTube: [ROM][29.01.10][HD2] RTT Shock ROM [XDA_UC][576MB/23518]RC3
For a 21xxx ROM with 576 MB enabled, check Anja´s Next Generation ROM
In her thread, she says "test ROM", but to be clear, that ROM is crazy fast and really stable. Worth giving it a try.
For a 24xxx ROM with 576 MB enabled, check RTT´s Shock ROM
For those who prefer the newer WinMo builds, this is a good choice.
Another 21xxx based ROM with 576 MB enabled is this one from pkoper.
Haven´t tried it yet, but sounds nice in the relevant thread, too.
I've added their ROMs in the first post. Its quite hard to make a decision which ROM will make the run, when you've just used the ROMs from the "big-five" here. You are satisfied with anja31?
My Lost in Asia 24001 has it.
Hi, Anja´s is really good, i use it already.
An here is another one:

I am using Anja´s ROMs for HD2 since she started making them.
So far, no disappointment at all. Perfect choice.
From time to time, as a flashaholic, I try other ROMs, but I keep coming back to Anja´s ROMs.
What's the point in having 576MB RAM when you can't even fill 448MB?
576 MB are there, so I want to have them, too!

Don't you think Dutty had a reason to remove the hack? Maybe he discovered stability issues because of it. Do you really think a bit more RAM that you will never use anyway is worth potential stability problems?
I really don't get why everyone jumps on that hack, without thinking about consequences.
As I read he wants to continue the development with the hack in the WWE versions. And I think thats the most downloaded version.
I don't know his reasons for that step, but maybe he was stopping it for other languages just for too much work?! He was and still keeps always my most favorite ROM cooker. His v1.4 GER with the hack is running very well on my HD2.

What does this have to do with free data memory? Sorry if I'm missing something...
I tried the hack and while it did work, it was definitely the reason why I could not restore my SPB backups anymore. Now you can say, it's a new ROM, so it may happen that you can't restore a backup. But the reason definitely was that I enabled the RAM and who knows what other problems it causes?
If you could actually use the additional RAM, I'd agree to enable it. But with normal use (even when running three navigation programs and other stuff at the same time), it's impossible to fill the 448MB RAM, so I really don't see a point in enabling 576MB.

free data memory = Programmspeicher aka Program in WWE?
Total: 457.15
In use: 150.55
Free: 306.60
But that can't be the RAM, because the hardware informations are showing 576MB. How do you check the free RAM?

That is the RAM. Some of it is taken by the system and not shown.
but data memory = Datenspeicher = ROM

sorry - maybe my fault - i mean "Datenspeicher" not "Programmspeicher"
he lost to much of the Datenpeicher, but anyway Duttys rom is fantastic.
That's because of the HTC debug tools in the 2.02 OEMDrivers. I deleted them and only lost about 2MB of storage, which is not a big deal.
But I'm still not convinced why I should enable the RAM when it's pretty much impossible to use it.
Well its all good as long as HTC are convinced.
The wording "RAM hack" may be a bit misleading. The 2.02 test rom from htc has this "feature" included. So its not really a hack.

Ram and rom are on one chip. Kind of like back in WM 2003 times where you could allocate on the fly.
So making one larger will reduce the other.
Meaning that if you have a "large" rom you will not be left with much "Datenspeicher".

Hi Guys,
Looking to buy a new HD2, just wondering that whether they still carry the hidden RAM? Has anyone brought one recently?
Yes, all HD2s have 576MB of RAM as long as you have the right ROM and radio.

That's not correct.
The PRO THREE's (Prototype HD2's) have 320/340mb RAM.
LEO 1.5 (TMOUS) have 1024MB RAM.

Yep, just not out of the box. You need the right combination of rom and radio to unlock the extra ram and bring it to 576mb from the default of 448mb if I'm not mistaken..

But it's absolutely correct because it's an answer to the OP, which clearly relates only to new HD2s. Maybe you missed that.
But only new US HD2 have 576MB RAM out the box, all other retail HD2s (not the pre-release) need to the right radio/ROM
So in a nutshell, all new retail HD2s have the RAM but only the US one is activated out the box
please help... on my phone it says total storage capacity 181.47... and total program memory 336.93... how's that... i bought the phone from orange romania... and this is after a hard reset... although in the about page it says... 448 RAM and 512 ROM...
anyone?

512 rom - minus the space the rom and the radio take up, also minus thee space the rom uses when it installs after a flash.takes about 250-350 meg which leaves you around 200 meg storage space.
448 ram - minus 128 meg for graphics =320 meg program memory.
your figures are exactly what a stock hd2 should show.

These screenshots say 512MB ROM, 1GB RAM... but from what we know it's the opposite (1GB ROM and 512MB RAM), the guy who made the website description most likely screwed up. Not to mention 1GB RAM would be absolutely useless.

Yea, that's definately true!
But people always say bigger is better
Big phone
Big delay
Big bug
Big error
Is it better? No it isn't!!
yeah even on the htc website it says it will have 1gb of ROM and 5_ _ mb of RAM.... hey I know you say 1gb of ram would be useless, but for the same price -why would you argue with that ? haha....but yeah can we say 'false advertisement' here?.... I am sure there is a complaint to be made, for those of us who already knew it was fake from the beginning it would not be a surprise when we get our hd2 and do not see 1gb of ram...but for the others, they may be like 'wth??!' ....

Current ( European ) HD2 :
-512 RAM
-512 ROM
T-mobile ( USA ) HD2 :
-512 RAM
-1024 ROM
Isn't it 574 ram on both versions?
yeah they do but most shipped roms disable the last few sectors of ram for stability reasons i believe, you need a cooked rom to enable the full amount
Yep, but why do they loose stability with more ram?
Loose stability??? I see no difference between cooked rom (576MB RAM) and official 1.66 WWE (448MB RAM).
it probably looses stability in a case of when an application over ranges ram so if there is a block of ram reserved then it may be used for those instances ? I am not sure just trying to think why it would be that way....
Just open lots of apps to fill RAM and again ad again. Nothing happends. Where did U read about instability with 576MB unlocked?
that is not what I was talking about, (opening a bunch of apps)... that does not mean it will over range the ram...
you may be familiar with programming and in such if you say go out of bounds on an array -it will cause some sorts of errors.... This is the type of situation I mean when I said over ranging ram, except it may come in a different form, but when a program basically tries to access more ram than it is allowed or tries to access ram which is non existent then it would normally cause an error....
all in all it is just an example, and I was just trying to think logically of why they would not allow all of the RAM to be unlocked in stock ROMS ...

I concur, I am actually using one right now and in hardware specs it shows the 576mb RAM, 1024mb ROM, and of course the sick 1024mhz processor
as a result of the U.S. version having more ram and rom, its a little bigger..
I got an HTC PRO THREE, the Pre Release version of HTC HD2.
It only has 320MB of RAM, and that's the only difference with the official HD2. I wonder if anyone there who also happens to have this device and unlocked the RAM to 576MB... i have tried the various/required Radios and various cooked and official ROMS and still has 320MB.
Does that mean hardware-wise, the only RAM i got is 320MB?
But i have read somewhere here, that on a certain rom, the HTC PRO THREE displays 340MB which makes a 20MB difference with the pre-released ROM, which seems to me that this HTC PRO THREE, has more than 320MB, since it displays 340MB on a non- pre release ROM.
Thanks in advance for the help.

So there is no chance hacking or unlocking the hidden ram if there's any?
The thing is, someone said that the pre release device was flashed by a certain rom, and was able to display 340mb ram on it, so meaning, if its true, there is more than 320mb of rams on this pre release version of HD2.
I just hope someone will clear this all to me. Thanks for the participation guys!

It might be what you said. The T8585 has just one hardware version providing a 576 Mb memory at all. So this fact sounds weird as well as the ROM should have less memory allocation, make sure either you didn't get a damaged device or somebody badly flashed ROM on it or the flash spoiled some hardware parts........
Anyway, try flashing a HSPL (the most updated) on it, get the ROM you like the most from the Web and see how it goes......... Bless you

you already have it. the hardware takes 128 for graphics.
look on a stock rom and it would say 448 in hardware and 320 in storage info

mhh not sure about that, because hardware info would say 576mb ram then, like on every other android phone. you will see there full ram also, and not only the space which is reserved for programs
edit:
you dont have access to full ram in winmo also, you see only the space which is accessible for your apps and stuff. but when you look at hardware info it will show you, that your phone has 576mb ram. thats what i mean.
I think there was a thread explaining it somewhere, but I'm pretty sure that we're not getting anymore RAM than we already have.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I thought some later winmo ROMS unlocked some missing RAM on Euro models, if so this could be done in Android to? - damn our inferior Euro models !!!
hope some brother can hack full ram on HTC eur, my phone show the total of Ram is 412 MB not 576 mb>> sad... if it possible that wonderful!!!
