thats some bs....after all the requests ive written to flar and that worthless request(ignore) thread in the xda forum
+ 1 for Android sub-forum for Touch
Of course, there's almost no non-Android postings anymore in the Touch CDMA General forum.
This is BS.. Seriously.. Why don't we have a dedicated subforum for android on vogue..
this should become a petion
a dedicated sub forum would really organize the threads
It's a no brainer to add an android forum, it's not even hard to do -.- no excuse why they shouldn't
Was there ever an explanation for why we couldn't have an android sub-forum? I recall the disappointment around the last batch of requests for a subforum but not sure if there was more to the denial.

nope just ignored requests......didnt even get excuses
I'll sign the petition.. you guys more than deserve it!! Although with the development done for Android on the Vogue, you'd have to be nuts to be running anything but Android... so you might as well call this the Vogue Android forum!
It would make sense!!!!!!!!
Why would anyone be against a Vogue Android forum in the first place? To be honest...its 90-95% of my reason for coming to xda on a daily basis.
Come on guys give us Vogue users and Android forum

Make that 100% for me.
Being an onld Wing-->G1-->Vogue user, I agree with the Android the only reason I have visited this site in the past few months. It would keep everything more organized for this forum if we had the subforum

Amen brother. Unless you have an apk of this, and it might help development with android 2(Link to developing Google apps because of sync api commands in maps app? I don't know.) What I'm trying to say is...don't make a new thread if it has NOTHING TO TO WITH DEVELOPMENT. Thanks.
Seriously. DEV or GTFO.
I kind of disagree; I think this is important for the development section:
It could inspire developers to work a way into porting android 2.0 to G1. It may inspire some genius into converting the g1 into a multi OS system that can switch between a GPS NAV and a Phone, in a simple way “switch Rom”. I left it open without a comment because I rather for everyone to use his imagination and transform this into development!!!

We already got a "demo rom" of sorts....it is based off of Android 2,but no Google apps, wifi, or Bluetooth, for obvious reasons.

I’m aware of that and the problems associated with porting 2.0, but I also believe in the XDA development Team. I would like to remind everyone where we have been and where are we now in terms of android, just imagine flashing back to stock RC 28 .
Just a note to OP, any dev that would even conjure doing this would more than likely look @ android.com or other android related sites with news and other articles just like you linked for us, granted you were trying to share what you have learned, it is completely irrelevant to this forum. Gladly take this thread to a "general"disscussion. Besides its still early look @ 2.0 and will be a bit before we see progress, and was hoping this thread meant somone was porting already, yet, to my dismay another off topic discussion that let my hopes fall to the bottomless pit of irony.

As shown in this forum, majority discussion and thread is about htc product.
I'm hoping new thread for another android phone like.......motorola milestone development.

The administrators have already said they will not. If you need to have these sections then might I suggest...
absolutelyandroid.com
alldroid.org
androidoverdrive.com
and many others, these are just off the top of my head
droidforums.net is what I use

Nice try.... but if you research you'll find out that the Xperia X1 and X10 were made by HTC
Sent from my *HTC* Dream or T-Mobile G1 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I think X1 made by HTC , not X10
Umh, I can't say surely if the X10 is made by HTC or not.
In any way, a Motorola Milestone/Droid section on xda-developers would bring some other users here, and it would be of much use even for me: I'm waiting for my Milestone to arrive!
And let's say this clearly. There's a lot of extremely experienced people that can help us to crack the RSA verification in our BootLoader... it's a shame... opensource phone without opensource philosophy.. lol!
So, I'm adding my +1 to the Milestone section... but it's a decision of Administrators whether to include it or not. Maybe if 200+ users will show their interest on a Milestone the admins will change their vision on this and bring an unique place here to discuss about Milestone development & hacking!

If you check the menu "Device by OS or Manufacturer" (in the right top of the screen) you'll see there are a lot more devices at XDA developers than only HTC (Samsung, LG, Acer, Toshiba) so a section for Motorola would be very much appreciated.
+ 1 for milestone...just got one love it
I'll say +1 for milestone 2, it is no longer my primary device (i got a desire) however the phone has potential, that is currently locked down to to signed kernal, and no forum big enough for it...
I Xda-Developer forum was meant for only HTC-made devices (including Xperia models) then how come Samsung Galaxy deserved its own forum?
Was Samsung Galaxy S created by HTC?
Please correct me if I'm wrong as I have not found any info on this.
I know I am soo gonna get boo'ed outta here, but i soo wish we had some of these devs at XDA working on some Cliq stuff. Theres already a 2.1 dump for it,but only a couple of people working on it so far. Yeah Yeah I know, the Cliq is the Moto Bastard step-child,but still, would be nice,i got the Cliq after my G1 finally died. Wishing i had just got a mytouch now but i wanted a Keyboard, and i thought with better hardware specs maybe there would be more Devs on it,sadly,i was wrong.
please add.
+1 for Motorola Milestone. I own both Milestone and HTC Hero and can play around with HTC Hero ROMs (thanks to developers here) but do not want to brick my Motorola Milestone (don't really rely on instructions from other website)
Would it maybe make sense to have a WM7 Upgrading forum under the HD2 forum?
That way all these WM7 threads could go in there, leaving this place alot less cluttered!
great idea, then a moderator can just "delete all" once per day and we can forget all about the wingeing whiners.

Dude it's due to be released in about 8 months Good idea though, since quite a few posts have been popping up, all discussing the WMP7S...Most probably it will be done when the time is right. For now, enjoy WinMo 6.5.X since that's what we're running at the moment
Ps. Don't expect any WMP7S roms just yet!

I just did a quick count of the WM7 threads, and there are a total of 5 (including this one) in the first 5 pages of discussions. That is 5 out of a hundred discussions. I think that to call it "cluttered" is a overstatement.
Community based forums will alway have a wide range of topics discussed. Having 5 in 100 devoted to a current and hot topic is not so bad. I think we should be celebrate that there is a forum where HD2 owners can discuss a range of topics.

Hello Everyone,
Why not use the correct place that xda so wonderfully set up for us.
xda-developers--->Windows Mobile Development and Hacking--->Windows Phone 7 Series
Thank you,
Monnie
It doesn't justify its own section and five out of ten thousand would be too many threads given the hysterical and ill informed drivel that forms the bulk of those threads.
So little is known about WPS7 at present yet already we appear to have 'experts' on the subject passing off wild speculation as fact:
It's great
It's rubbish
We will get an upgrade
We won't get an upgrade
It's toxic to fish and other small aquatic creatures
It's a portal to the underworld and at midnight on December 4th 2011 Kraal the Redeemer of Souls will appear and devour our livers with a nice chianti and some farva beans...
The interest is understandable but perhaps waiting until we get some hard data might be better because as of right now, what we actually know categorically and for sure is pretty close to nothing...
Did anyone even try to install HTC Touch Pro 2 Android on a HTC Mega? since they almost the same and alot of developers are developing android on TP2,
you can find the android development on the search button after u type in htc touch pro 2 and then under the android development section.
ps; it's just a question.

For the Touch Pro 2, I don't know...

hi all friend,
It's my first time on HTC HD T-Mobile.
I'm not able to find the right topic about installing the 3 OS in HTC HD2
I would like to install 3 OS together in my phone by backup the existing win 6.5 OS
OS are :
The Stable android 2.2
Window Mobile 7
Customized Window 6.5.x
Would you please guide me the right topic ?
Thanks

Firstly, you cant run all 3 OS's, You can run combinations of 2 like WP7 on NAND and Android on SD or Android on both NAND and SD or WM6.5 on NAND and Android on SD.
Second, how on earth does this look like a questions forum?? In future post your questions in the Q&A forum.
Third, you obviously havent even spent 2 minutes looking at forum titles or reading the guides so before you start asking loads of questions everywhere do yourself a favor and do some reading, lazyness is not tolerated here and frowned upon.
So, how do we get the OP banned for life? Clearly posts like this will continue if we don't cure (ban) the OP asap.
Thanks

Relax... its not a big deal. He asked a question. No need to ban... that's ridiculous.
To op... we can't triboot all 3 os's yet, but hopefully soon cotulla will release a sd bootable version of winmo6.5, at which point we can have wp7 on nand, and android and wm65 on sd card. So it'll probably just be a matter of time.

It's good to see that not all the friendly, helpful people have left XDA just yet. I was starting to despair, this used to be a place where newbies could come to ask questions without fear of ridicule no matter how naive the request. Thanx zarathustrax for restoring my faith in XDA.
We at XDA ARE still friendly to n00bs with actual, legitimate questions. People like this OP that don't take the time to read ANYTHING are the people that we don't like. It's all about the reading folks. There really aren't that many things left about the HD2 that we don't know about, and a simple search will almost always result with the information that you need.

All this info can be confusing to someone new to this... someone seeing the hd2 forum showing that the hd2 can run all these OS's, and seeing all this stuff about dualbooting and tri-booting when you include ubuntu... a search would probably bring back a variety of threads about dualbooting and tribooting. Even posts out there talking about the possibility of running all 3 OS's once the sd version of wm65 is released. All this information can be quite overwhelming to someone new and can be difficult to sort through and figure out. There is no need to talk about banning the poster or saying you don't like the poster because he didn't know what was possible and he asked a question in the wrong section.
Considering we may be able to run all 3 OS's on our HD2s possibly very soon, I don't think the question is that out of line... it probably should be in a Q&A section, but all the Q&A sections are for specific OS's, so that makes it hard to figure out what section this question should have been posted in, especially for a noobie. All that needed to be said was that it's not possible yet, but that it will probably be possible soon. Then the thread would have died and would have been out of your site.

I first came here after a google search looking for an app for a T-Mobile MDA Comapct III (HTC P3300). I had no idea about flashing ROMs or anything. I found the app and also noticed other apps that were useful.
After a good read on the ROM flashing, I decided to flash a ROM. It worked fine, but some of the aspects of the ROM I didn't like. So I tried another and another until I was happy. Then I did more reading and did some very basic tweaks.
This phone has been not used for a couple of years, until about a month ago. I again had a read about the latest ROMs and flashed one, didn't like it so I flashed another - which I quite like the look of. I added TomTom and downloaded the free city map. Now this phone is used as a backup in my car and also as a tracker if my car was to be stolen.
