Android on Snap? - Dash 3G, Snap General

Having Diamond and Touch Pro loading Android via Haret, would it be possible to do the same over here?
I Tried and wasn't able to get it loading.

maybe is it because the Snap is a non-touch smartphone. anyways, if you get android to run on it, i'd be interested.

Android?

Well, I love my prophet. I know that's it's comparatively open (we can install WM6!)
So, any chance anyone can get Android working on our phone? (It'll be awesome if it's working before G1 comes out!)

Well the linux operating system works on it so am guessing that maybe andriod can support it some how any sites that's working on it?

Android on HTC Wizard ?

I sow here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=382265 that the user DZO ported Android as an image on a virtual machine for HTC Touch.
They have a site here http://www.myhtcphone.com/ and I downloaded the needed files to try to see if it is working on my old Wizard. It is very simple to install it (they created even a .cab file)
But is seems that is not working. It is saying booting linux, it is displaying the console with 4 or 5 lines and after that it remains with a white screen.
Doses any one tried also to run this Android image on an HTC Wizard ?
Yes, currently there is no working version of Android on the Wizard, simply because we are missing some propriatery JAVA drivers and framework, that at least I have not been able to secure for our use. Perhaps in time a version will become available. I am still working on a version, but I dont have much hope for it.
No big deal, however I do not like Android... For now, Android is out of WM league, i know it's based on linux, but just a few apps are availible and so... A two years ago I instaled linux on my SX1 - what a wasting of time - Qtopia sucks also...
in open-nandra com sound driver for linux HTC Wizard - how this add to android?
It is something new, I have an old MDA Vario, and I want him working for Android
If you want the best system for your MDA Vario, use Windows Mobile. I suggest Ham3r's H3r5, but CRACING's CR96 is good for WM6.5, and many ROMs to choose from, even though very few are recent.
If, instead, you want Android, I suggest a different phone. I got an old AT&T Tilt, which is HTC Kaiser, and it runs Android well. In my opinion Wizard was a better phone for its time, but Android on Wizard is very immature, and advancing very slowly.
How about Windows Phone 7? See: http://www.xda-developers.com/featu...gn=Feed:+xda-developers/ShsH+(xda-developers)

demo software?

Hey guys,
My boss just got a DroidX, and it is slightly different than my SGS. I want to know if there is a software version of the phone, similar to how the windows mobile SDK allowed you to run an instance of the OS on your computer screen.
I want to be able to control my own version of the phone, or see each screen at least, so i can tell him what to do and he doesn't go back to the idiotPhone.
can i do this with a file from the android sdk?

(Multitouch in Android builds) - (WinMo emulator in Android)

I'm asking this here since we are those lucky guys who probably tried all kind of builds/bases on Android (evo, desire, nexus1,desire HD,....) and Winmo builds! So logically we know the most about these 2 topics:
1- Does the multitouch experience change from base to base in android!?
What i mean is, have you ever tried to play a multitouch game on Evo base, Nexus1 base, desire base...??? Is it the same experience?! Are multitouch drivers the same in those android HTC devices?!? If not, which in your opinion has the best multitouch drivers?!?
2- Is there is some kind of emulator of Winmo in Android?!?
I mean there is some apps/games that are only available @ Winmo, is there is a special way (emulator or other if possible) to run those on an android device?!? If not, To devs and advanced users, do you think this can be done?!? What does it take to do it?!
Thanks guys!
1) I've tried Nexus, Evo & Desire and there wasn't any differences. There is a calibration tools in some builds with Sense but sensitivity was equal.
2) There is no emulator. In Linux world we have Wine witch can run Windows apps but there is nothing with Windows Mobile support.

Thanks 4 ur reply!
However i have read somewhere that Nexus 1 multitouch driver is a bit "faulty", if it's the right word!
IMO all these HTC devices have bad multitouch drivers! I sometimes have some struggling to play let's say Fifa2010 because i take off my left arm from "move pad" but the dot still at its place until i take off my right arm from the "A & B" buttons! So i realize that it's interfering one touch at 1 place with another touch on another place! Of course that doesn't happen all the time but it happens!
About 2), excuse my ignorance bcz i know nothing about Linux, but is it so difficult to make this "Wine witch" work on android devices to be compatible with Winmo?!?
1) I thing we have us own MT driver. Every screen & digitizer (or however its called) should have diff driver to work. But not 100% sure - it's possible we have screen & digitizer same as some other phone...
Multitouch in hd2 is locking when You have two finger in these same line (vert or horiz). To work You should move one of Your finger to leave common line (that "line" is quite fat!). I suggest try some MultiTouch Demo App from store - it's free and shows how its working in our devices.
2) Windows on PC and PPC are quite diffirent. I think its possible to make "Mobile" Wine but it's a _lot_ of work. And it's not 100% legal (Windows source isn't open). Moreover emulator will be a bit slow and laggy. And of course some apps will work, some not and some will hang Your phone
Hopefully cotulla will finish the sd bootable version of winmo soon... I know he's working on one that we can use with magldr to boot from sd. So with that we can have wp7 or android on nand and still be able to boot winmo when we want. Soon we will have quad-booting devices... WP7 on nand, and WinMo6.5, Android, and Ubuntu on SD... and maybe one day have a meego port that works well!

[Q] Android on my W.M. Device

Hi everybody!
I have a Windows Mobile 6 device and I want to install Android on it. (Possibly the 2.3 version)
I have read some threads on XDA and I have learned that there are a lot of softwares to boot Android on W.M. devices. (not using nand-roms and deleting W.M.)
1---Can you explain me about:
--XDAndroid
--Gen.Y DualBOOT http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623792
--OS Loader (I tryed it and it doesn't work) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2057216
--HARET...
--Others... ?
I ask you because now a lot of people use Android with their HTC devices but No one have tryed to put it on my device.
I have a Toshiba G910 with a Qualcomm CPU and an High Resolution Screen (WVGA).
For me it's really possible to put Android on it because the Toshiba G900 is almost identical to my G910
and on Youtube I see a lot of G900 owners boot Android through some apps.

2---My device is landscape (800x480)...Somewhere I have read that Gen.Y runs Android only in Portrait mode...
On youtube there are some HTC TouchPro2 owner that use Android also in Landscape...
Let's See the image of the second video... https://www.youtube.com/results?sea...-1j1.2.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.CB-2CkQMF7Q (Android is Landscape)
3---Also the HTC Tytn II and the Sony Ericcson X1 are similar to my device. I found Android for them and I will probably try these version on my device...It will work for you?
(My thread about X1=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406795)
4---Now I want to make a proper Android Rom for my device but I don't know well how to do it
(My question=http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448205)
