I mean i guess its a good thing, but I had no clue a ROM flash could do that?? I downloaded the MLIGN-HeroV3.3 ROM (got download link from his Twitter page) and just flashed it bout 20 miniutes ago. Of course I had the Blurry issue so i went into RECOV MODE and was gonna flash the Blurries Fix, when i noticed my Recovery image was different. It is updated to RA-1.5.2!! I see he hasnt updated the 3.3 links or changelog here, I dont really see anything on this. I had just updated Cyanogen's last nite via CM Updater, the my original RECOV image was still the same. I had been using RA-dream-v1.2.3.img from the Unlockr 1-Click ROOT process, which worked fine. I did notice it was the Dream branded image and the new image is also Dream branded. Everything is working, but still i guess its a heads up for anyone whois gonna try out the 3.3 ROM
mglin said on the changelog that that particular rom, changes the recovery menu. You should pay more attention to what rom developers say
there is nothing on 3.3 here
but you basically answered it, i just wanted to make sure its not just me, I do read changelogs, actually since i got my Android phone 3 weeks ago, I have not visited anything but ANDROID devoted sites, a few tech news blogs, but u should see my Google Web history nothing for weeks but XDA and AndroidSPIN, i like reading up, I shoulda phrased my thread different, more as a heads up for anyone whois gonna venture to the v3.3 update
Thread moved.

So I'm currently running one of JesusFreke's Cupcake builds on a rooted G1, but my Maps and Market apps recently stopped working after installing the paid version of Power Manager. Wanting to rectify the problem (and eager to try out a Donut build anyway), I decided to download the latest CyanogenMod. Noticing that his download links didn't work, I looked through the forums and realized that he had pulled everything THE NIGHT BEFORE due to the C&D from Google. Great timing, right?
I'm excited to see that Cyanogen has continued his work with the release of CyanogenMod 4.1.999, but realize that he can no longer release any of the Google apps. His new installation instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=567610) require having working versions of all those Google Apps in the first place to back up. The process seems straight-forward for those lucky enough to have already had CyanogenMod 4.1.11.1 before it was pulled, but I am unfortunately in an entirely different boat.
Any suggestions on how to transition from a JF 1.5 build with broken Google apps to the latest CyanogenMod 1.6 build with working Google apps? If nothing else, any saints out there that happen to have CyanogenMod 4.1.11.1? Thanks for any advice any of you can give me to restore full functionality to my beloved G1.

Did you actually read all of the instructions? You need to flash an HTC ROM and then 4.1.999. There is no requirement for 4.1.11.1.
Or get the all-in-one:

well i assume you know how to flash...
wipe ext
repair ext
facotry wipe
flash
and btw flash this instead
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569825
its cyanogen 4.1.999 but someone made it easy and complied everything in just one flash.(including google apps)
cyanogen himself cannot do this due to the C&D from google, but someone else can.. techniically still illegal, but no legal action has been taken.
Many thanks for the helpful replies! When I read Cyanogen's instructions and he mentioned the Android 1.6 Recovery Image, I didn't realize that it actually included the Google apps. Like I said, I'm a noob... I was able to follow the instructions to a T and am now running CM 4.1.999. Thanks again for the help!
I don't know how much truth there is to this, (found it posted in GB thread on Moto forums), and I will try to dig a wee bit deeper, but apparently after GB is released on the Atrix, if you perform a Master Reset, the phone will automatically install the latest firmware release when it boots back up.
"once GB whatever becomes official, by doing a Master Reset, you wipe everything, and then the Moto Server installs the most current version of OS."
I am trying to find the post relating to this by Mark, the forum manager.
Weird/
that would be the first device i have heard of to do that.
Also read there that Motorola is leaning on AT&T quite heavily to have the ul/dl speeds increased for the Atrix.
There is a lot of good info on the Moto forums, but unfortunitely threads that are over a hundred pages long to read through.

Here is Mark's Original Quote:

When is the next firmware update to gingerbread 2.3. Let's try to stay on topic, and have fun.
Larry-
No we always attempt to preserve your information. If you elect to, after the upgrade you can do a factory data reset and start fresh with a new account or your same MOTOBLUR account. "
I think Mark was referring to how to start a NEW motoblur account on your device..."???
One more.....Mark was answering this person's question:
"

Mark,
Once GB is released, whether as a tester or to the General Public, is it going to offer the user the opportunity to do a Completly Clean Install? Is it possible to offer that? with the updates and all the app installs and removals, this would eliminate any "Glitch" due to problems in past.
Thank You
Larry"
I don't know. There are a number of posts from Mark relative to MotoBlur accounts. This one response to a post of his seems to directly address a comment about future update procedures.
The Moto forums are not very well set up in that it can be very hard to trace back to an original post by someone if it is not directly quoted. I gave up after reading back through 20 pages or so.
<edit> It does appear to link back to that first post of yours, but assuming (I know, never assume) that the poster is half way intelligent, Marks' post in no way says anything about master resets then prompting an update to the latest revision. I have now confused myself, so I think I will let it be! LOL
I think it was a follow up to Mark's post, by someone who was misinterperating what Mark had said in his post.

Seems that way!
Hello there guys nice to meet you :silly: , i ve neen with you for a while , reading some of your threads , but today i got my note 10.1 .
i have some questions though(i did some reasearch first )
1) how long for initial charge ? there is no indicator ,is it?
2) should i update jelly bean imediatly (through kies) i guess i will get a longer battery life , correct?
3)regarding rooting , i guess all guides are updated for rooting jellybean, right? or should i root on 4.0 and then update ?
i ve read that some methods increase binary number count wich will void my warranty ,
and some others won't.
So i would like to point me out some directions if possible . cheers !
So Mr. Trademarked Naturegod.
I don't think anyone will make that kind of decisions for you.
1. Charge it and you will see.
2. Some say so, others don't. Maybe a new ROM can max the battery life as well.
3. There is somewhere an app to decrease that back to zero.
4. You should read some more threads, write down your questions on paper and then search the forum first to find an answer.
5. Watch the registration video. I liked it.
edit: Oh, instead of writing down your questions on paper, use ure new note 10.1.
haha thank you very much , kind sir
btw i dont see any back up option on kies , correct?
any guide i follow here . on how to back up , will be updated ? or i should pay attention to some details?
I really do not know.
The first thing I have made was to install cwm via odin. Maybe an older one because the newest clockwork mod (touch) have some errors in graphic installations of some roms. So I installed a cwm that seemed to work on other notes too.
After that I installed via cwm (pay attention to bootmode) the root-zip and then a good ROM (or vice versa).
Now I can install anything I want. If I install that app to set the modification counter to zero, I can flash the original stock image back to the device and nothing ever happens. (Maybe other people tried and I forgot something.)
Via cwm you can backup. Otherwise you have to use an App like titanium backup.
Before you install any ROM or flash your device... you should install any app you want and you want to test. Play around and the best apps and things you install after a fresh rom flashing.
If you do it step by step, there isn't much you can do wrong. But still pay attention and read everything in those interesting threads. Sometimes the newest information isn't on first site.
Update to newest version, watch out for the exynos exploit (use search, but should be patched with newest samsung update) and maybe - eh, whatever. Use it like other noobs use a new tablet.
If you don't need the pen, maybe you should change to nexus 10 (?)
Normally, most member in here don't write that much. I do because I am new too. Read the Stickies in each thread. Should answer most questions.

could you please put the link for the official ROM, because I have the same problem also
I had the same problem with a shoprom (8.0.4.0 fake global stable).
It turned out to be infected with two different virus (Ewind.fr in calculator and Boogr.gsh in label app, found by kaspersky)
Take a look at the rights given to these apps and try to change them.
It took me nearly two days now to succesfully flash a clean stock rom (latest china dev).
Here are some info on how I did it:

Download the stable ROM. Follow the instructions in the flash guide & see if that works. It didnt work for me (kept saying that it couldnt verify the update package), so i had to download SP FLASH Tool and flash via that method. There are guides on the MIUI website, here is a good one http://en.miui.com/thread-326882-1-1.html
Evening all, finally got my hands on this device this evening and I am very impressed so far. The only real issue I have come across is video playback in YouTube and Instagram (the only two options I have so far been able to view videos on) is playing speed up?? Has anyone experienced this and know how to get the videos to play back at normal speed?
I have done a little search and came up with no answers so far.
Anyways thanks in advance and look forward to tinkering with this phone in the near future.
One of the 1st things I will checkout is if it is worth doing any ota updates if there are any? Or stay on this version of 6.0.1 for ease of rooting if that is the case like some other phones I have had in the past.
Again any help appreciated
Cheers Hoppi
Never experienced that issue. Could be a problem with your WiFi, or maybe the ROM. Try clearing the app cache and data for both apps.
There are no OTA updates for this device, and you're likely on an unofficial 20s multi-language shop ROM. If you want to use custom ROMs in the future, you should not switch to a stock firmware anyway, since your device will get permabricked if you flash any official stock ROM like 26s through TWRP. Read the sticky in this forum and read the bootloader unlock guide in the x722 development section here.
