ActivSync - Flashing problem

Hi guys! It's again me
I have problem with flashing my X1.
Downloaded R2AA Generic English ROM. Installed 3.5 .NET framework on my Vista 64bit(all updates, including .NET 3.5 SP1), everythings suppa - when phone is ON - active sync detects, sync works.
Problem appears in that 4 color mode, where I want to upgrade ROM.
4 colored stripes and text appears, but when i plug the USB cable in.... on X1 it shows "USB" text but active sync doesnt detect the device. I just can't sync my X1 with PC while in that "ROM 4-colored mode" - and in progression - cant update my ROM.
Pls help
I want to install R2AA original, generic UK ROM by that method:
1:enter boot mode on X1
2:connect cable to PC and activesync the device (WinMobDevCentre)
3:run RUU and instal ROM's .image file
Because of temporary leak of mem.card

Have you tried running the program when connected with USB in boot mode?
Program should detect your phone

Active Sync is passive process.
How can I manually sync it?
Im in boot mode - entering USB and - no sync - so no ROM update

1. Enter boot mode
2. Connect with USB (when first time windows has to install drivers, wait for completion)
3. Run RUU (the program should recognize your phone)

1:entered boot mode
2:connected USB - windows installed device named "Microsoft USB Sync"
3:RUU doesnt recongnize connected device (no activesync connection)- cannot be continued

Hmm, let's try something else
1. Leave phone on
2. Connect to pc and WinMobDevCen
3. Run RUU

RUU gives me message: The update ultility could not open requested file.

Rename the image file to ruu_signed.nbh and place it in the same folder as the RUU utility

It crashed damn!
stopped at 10%.... i haven't HARD-SPL, thought generic ROMS don't require it...
What now ?

If you wait for the RUU utility to say the flash has been succesfull it won't be damaged....
Just don't do anything with your phone/pc during flash

You're correct, generic roms have radio and spl included.
Did ruu gave an error code?
ps you do need hard-spl if you're phone was originally in another language!

It had error. But I don't remember number.
On phone it writes: upgrade ROM code error
I had Vodafone R1AA UK ROM
Just want Generic R2AA UK.
Trying to fix...
using x1 Hard SPL to install R2AA UK generic.... will post result

tried to run Hard SPL RUU - no effect - error 262
then runned normal, Kovsky RUU with same ROM - it worked!

Probably hard-spl is installed even after the error, so you're abl to flash other rom than vodafone UK.
You can check this by going into boot mode and check what it says in the upper color bar.

so what SPL is it? hard or soft?

ERROR 260: update file corrupt...

I ALWAYS have ERROR 260...
I installed the original rom --> succesfull
trying USPL ---> fails
trying shady's ROM ---> fails
trying own cooked ROM ---> fails
AAAALWAYS error 260, phone is fine connected to usb, bootloader starts also when i run uspl, but aaaalways error in bootloader (phone reboots and ofcourse connection is lost then)

please help!!!

I have reinstalled the drivers for Vista to XP, like asked and said in a lot of topics, but this doesn't help, my device is recognized in bootmode but fails to update ...

easy solution
Simple way : take out microSD card and Simcard

1. Have u unlocked your SPL??? try using uspl
2. Remove SIM card and Storage Card
3. When you're booting your phone, go to Bootloader by pressing the "Record key" (left key) and Power key together! Press left ley first and by holding it, press power key!
* Shady's Rom (especially the lite need USPL unlocked by cmon! The link is in Shady's ROM page)

Many thanks. I keep forgetting to remove the SDHC card when I try to update. This thread helped me out again.....

i´ve got an trinity and flashed it with a new rom.
It worked great and the rom was fine but than i found a better one.
When i tried to flash the rom, the update progress stoped at 8pc and mobile phone only has a black screen. I searched forums for long time and than i found
the way to enter bootloader.
If i connect in bootloader mode to pc USB connection is activated.
But every rom version i try to flash i got the Message
Error[270] Update Error
Ur Image file is corrupted, Pleas Chack Update utility.
I also tried the method unbrik and hardspl
but i cant flash to any rom.

i think you have to download SSPL Then copy it to your ppc extract nbh file from the rom you want to flash rename it TRINIMG.nbh and copy both this file & SSPL to you the root of SD Card click on SSPL to enter bootloader tnen click on power to confirm installation from SD Card wait untill to see update completed take off sd from the phone & power it on hope this help you

impossible to flash any rom

hello guys, I have this problem: I'm using ROM manilla 2D from Josh, but it's very slow, it takes about 5min to boot and start. Second problem is the anouncement in start screen: No GSM. I know, radio rom is missing. But when I tried to upgrade radio or other ROM via pc, it's saing: error 262 or 260. I tried it with windows installers, with RUU, with device in bootloader mode, but no efect. When I'm flashing via SD card, it says numerical error (few numbers in red) can somebody help me to fix it? Thx

and when I'm trying to update it via USB in bootloader mode, it begins good, but about 2% it says: Error 270 - Image file is corrupted. Help pls

Soft reset=hard reset=blmode help :(

When i made soft reset (after install any program). mda made hard reset and start bootloader mode. I can't write new rom. What can i do? If i start installing flash rom .exe after few whiles:error 201: get device data error. CAN NOT GET DEVICE DATA

I had same problem. I just remove battery and wait sometime. It should fix that. Well.. for me it fixed

Yes it's works, but is any chance to fixed it, upgrade new rom or something.

Prapably someone tryied upgrade bigstoragerom. If i could have backup rom, that's no problem, but i don't have. Other rom not start from sd card

I installed WWE 03, because it don't change radio. There was my problem. When I tryed to install roms before i change radio to 1.12 and wwe 03 work fine. So try like I do But you need install via usb cable and windows xp like i do (I don't have windows xp in my pc so I used Vmware workstation)

What's that rom WWE 03? I have 1.00.10 radio, rom 1.13.00 WWE, so? Could you send me working rom, who can flash my pda?

WWE 03 is cotulla rom. It had windows mobile 6.1. And I tryed to install this one, but lot time had errors. Firstly, I try to install this rom and I finaly upgraded radio with this rom 1.12, but OS installation stuck on 0%, so I cancel it. Noww I tried install this rom and everything working. No bootloader after soft reset, working good

First link should work. It work for me. To succesfuly check your devise you should connect pc and PDA via active syns with windows XP. Then it will check your device and upgrade should work for me it worked

I have connected pda (windows xp) activesyns. Always, every rom, whitch i want to upgrade: update from: (empty) to: (empty). Only if i turn ON pda, then upgrade from: 1.0.10 to 1.12, click NEXT and pda goes to bootloader. "checking devace data" and nothing happened. I thing the last chance is upgrade rom from sd card in bootloader mode, but it must be backup rom from own pda This is the end :/ i may throw my megican to trash. Thanks for answers.

You should turn on PDA then connect to pc after that will be upgrade from to filled. When you click next automaticly go to bootloader and install new rom

Yes, i try that. Turn on, connect, upgrade, then pda goes to bootloader mode and nothing happened - "checking device infromation ...... " all the time. Do you know any way to upgrade from the sd card. I can't do a backup and change 416 bytes in new roms, like a say xda-developers tutorial. Without that pda not flash new rom from sd.

If you know anyone from your friends that have magician try get backup from him. If you don't have, last thing that I can advise, try other roms. You can find it there
