Gid day All
Just a quick question on the Factory Resset or Hard Reset. If I do this on my HD2 will I have to re-install all of the patches/updates such as the SMS, Video (pink) SIM card etc which are offered on the HTC web sites? The same question for the ROM update (theres a new 1.66 avaialbe), do I have re-install all of the other updates after installing the new ROM?
Thanks
Kym
Firstly yes, a hard reset deletes EVERYTHING. Its back as it was when you bought it.
When you bought it, you then had to install the updates.
Secondly, nope. Unless it says its for that ROM. i.e. an update from rom 1.48 and below is not needed if you load 1.66.
An update for 1.66 and below, then yes.

i am not expertised on this matter but:
- did you unlock your device?
- have you tried other roms?
- did you hard reset manually it?
hey, no i didnt unlock it i realised that now. i want to reflash original rom (where can i get?) then unlock an update. i miss it already
hard reset manually will help, then you try to upgrade.
i done a hard reset many times. the 'press cennter key to reset' comes up, i push it an bak square 1. where can i get orig tmobile rom??
i'm pretty sure that the link to your rom has already been posted here several times, but i can only find the german tmob rom.
check some of the big threads about wm6 and unlocking
I updated to the TMobile update from the TMobile web site. I talked with a TMobile rep who said if I hard reset my device it will remove that update and I will have to install is again. Is this true?
A Hard Reset will not Reset a flashed ROM.
It will return your phone to factory Defaults regarding settings and erase your data, but not impact the firmware.
I would strongly recommend staying away from the new T-Mobile ROM update...

I was apprehensive and finally upgraded because I was tired of my phone locking up and freezing all of the time. 2.13 fixed pretty much everything. You need to run the zim cab for touch response.
Have you ran the new rom on your phone?
hello,
my wife has an open lt15i, not branded and rooted with the latest official firmware. since about 2 weeks she is not able to call 2 numbers. unfortunately these numbers are quite important - they are from our 2 children. when she tries to call these 2 numbers she only hears a short snap or signal noise and that´s it.
as i have no clue where this comes from and ics is still a few weeks ahead i want to go back to the last firmware (.42). unfortunately i didn´t found if i loose everything when i use the flashtool to flash the last firmware.
so is it possible to flash .42 over .62 and keep all settings (contacts, call logs, sms, apps, settings, etc?)?
sorry if this is already asked and answered somewhere here, i read a lot - but didn´t found it.
thank´s a lot for your help!
brgds Deas
Sounds like you git the two numbers blockd on the phone
Try factory-reset, you will loose all data (settings etc. and not contacts)
From my sexy LT15i
Hi,
Yes, you can flash .42 baseband using flashtools
Just remember to make a backup before that.
BTW, as "TheHaso" mentioned, try factory reset first.
she didn´t allowed me to do it this weekend. she uses this phone also for her shop so i really understand her...
what i did so far is to ckeck if there are any numbers blocked on the phone - nothing that i could find. then i installed mybackup because this is the only one i found that does not need a rooted phone and did a complete backup to the local sd. so at least i have a backup of the data now.
i´ll try the factory reset hopefully tomorrow evening if i am allowed. supid question, but if that does not change anything, is the backup with mybackup enough to restore the phone to the exact state as it is now?
and about the downgrade to .42 - i read in the ics thread that you can selectively choose what to flash. if i remove data - will this work? or do i need to restore the mybackup after the downgrade?
sorry for all these questions, but i don´t want to play russian roulette with my wifes phone data...
thank´s a lot for your help!

1. I havent tried mybackup, but I think in trial mode, you might have some problems restoring your data in ICS! but should work on the same firmware.
2. As far as I'm concerned, selective installation was devised in order to make the released ICS work with flashtools and now it can be done with new flashtools v7 just in one step.
I reckon It won't be a good idea not to wipe user data while flashing ICS.
i had now time to play with the phone. and it is still working!
i was short before doing a factory reset, but then i had the idea to put the sim in another phone - surprise - i am still not able to call these 2 numbers! so it must be something provider related. will call them tomorrow...
then i did a downgrade with flashtool to .42 and i unchecked user data. the downgrade worked fine, everything is still there. and now i have a rooted arc!
thank´s a lot for your help!

we decided to change provider - now everything is working again. my wife can call all numbers!
i decided to upgrade the rooted phone again to the latest firmware, but i think i don´t did it right...
actually i wanted to do it on the phone, but the updater just said that there was an error and i should try it again. then i decided to do the upgrade via pc companion. it worked, but now i have a unrooted phone...
first question: what was my failure?
second question: when in a few weeks the official ics will be released - can i root my phone after the upgrade? or is this not possible with ics? basically i want to stay with the original firmware and just remove the bloatware.
thank´s a lot for your help!

Hi, after a relock I decided to reinstall wp7 from the original rom because of KK2 firmware. I arrived at 2424.11.8.2 firmware and use wp cab sender to install tango but the probIem is that I can't send or receive sms. I tried some Diagnosis trick with no success and installed KK2 firmware again with the same result!!! Any suggestion??
I tried a hard reset and it worked. Now I restored to tango with firmware 2424.11.8.9 but I want to avoid hard reset for not reinstall everything. May be someone will help me!!
I did a hard reset, re-unlocked and reinstalled every thing. Now it works!!
Thanks for sharing the solution.
My SM-G395F is taking around 6-7 seconds before showing incoming calls. It's doing that for a couple of year (from day one) and it's like that for every calls. My phone is pure stock, no root, nothing special and using the latest rom I got from OTA (G935FXXS3ERL4).
I search on google and some user were facing the same issue too. For them it was solved after an update (they were using an operator rom). I'm also using a rom from my operator (which was installed when I bought the phone).
Is is the same for you ? Do think that it is normal ? Any idea if it can be solved or where I could find a solution for that ?
PS: sorry for my poor english, I'm not that good to learn it
Did you try doing a full reset? Not just from the settings menu but from recovery..
I did not tried that. If it can solve the problem I will try. In case of it does not solve the issue, do you think I could try to reflash the same rom with Odin?, this rom is a multi CSC, if I flash the same rom with the CSC file (not home CSC) will it change my csc after the next factory reset from recovery? Thank you for your help
If you do the factory reset, your CSC should remain the one that you had last flashed. As flashing replaces the module in the system.
Tried a factory reset and it does not change anything. Do you have the same problem on your s7 edge? I suppose that the problem comes from the csc as the factory reset did not change anything. What do you think? I also reflashed the latest version of my rom and no luck with that too.
