Well, call clarity can really have to do more with the radio version you are running, but generally speaking, call clarity is great. The internal and external speaker work fine, so playing video's and music are great. The only crappy part is the processsor speed is a little on the sluggish side, but there is a program called battery status which lets you overclock which helps out some. Personally, I would love to have the HTC diamond, but I don't have 700 bucks for it! There are a lot of custom roms in this forum that help with the speed and stability. Hope this helps.

I thought the diamond had an micro sd card slot, but I might be wrong. Either way, it's too expensive right now. I love my wing, especially with all the roms we have to pick from, and all the customizations for it. I would def recommend it though!
honestyl bought a HTC Touch ELFin, or HTC Prophet

Unfortunately, it does not have a MicroSD slot...
For most things, 200MHz is fine, although BatteryStatus does make a difference in some things.

Hey guy, just a lil confused on what new phone to go with.I have a wing that i been using for a year . i'm considering the g1 or htc fuze.
i say the fuze because the flexibility of windows mobile.
the G1 is nice but as for functionality i would go with the fuuze i have not like the functionality on the G1 and it will be too long before i can come up to par with win mo

what he said...i miss my wing and winmo so much
the only thing nice about the g1 is the larger screen, but i would go for the higher res over screen size. i guess the track ball is nice, but not really. capacitive screen sucks, can't play any games where speed and accuracy is a factor.

I'm sorry to hear that! Hahaha, ok just kidding. Actually, I think I would have to go with the Vuze as well.
i had the same problem in upgrading phones. really wanted gps more ram and a faster cpu. i bought an att branded kaiser off of eghey for $230. it is great. the only thing that the wing has over the tilt is that the wing ( or at least mine) was way more stable than the kaiser. I am not saying that everyone will have the same experience with it though. If the wing had more ram i would still be using it.
android in my mind is terrible.
i would have went with the fuze except for a few small gripes
. problems with apps because of vga res.
. battery life
. hard ware buttons
. it is backwards from the wing/kaiser
to keep the hd2. i have not had the hd2 for like 2 months, has alot changed? roms? windows mobile?
whats the news on getting windows mo 7 or an android port to the HD2?
also...is there any way to make Sense like my androind sense regarding widgets, twitter etc...
thanks...i have so missed my hd2 screen size....
Whether WP7 or Android will come to HD2 is still unknown. Sure, everyone will say it's only a matter of time, but I'll be straight with you and tell you it's as good as a 50/50 chance.
Having said that, it's a phone. Keep it or sell it. It's your call.
get the hd2. in a review online by a dignified tech website hd2 spanks the nexus one
Shall I pick your clothes out for tomorrow as well?

Did you install cookies home tab and editor? If not, you should try that. makes as many quick links as you want. Very Android/Iphonish. Works awesome... Also the new ROM with the Zim touch sensitivity fix makes it pretty rad.
If you want a real man's phone get the HD2...lolol
All joke's aside, it's really a matter of personal opinion: the HD2 uses WinMo, and with the latest ROM versions out there things run pretty smooth.
But if you want Android, then keep the Nexus. In the end, the basic features are the same, it's all about what feels right for you. (God I sound like a hippie...jk lol.)

yeah, i wiped and installed the elagence rom. i love it..i am just trying to find a way to use my google voice account to get my free texting..wish there was a GV app for this

Very true...i have had lock ups also...
I am going to try the latest energy rom now. any tweaks that you would recommend i must do right after?
also..how can i get the original white flip clock with weather on that rom???
From my Personal Experience, i had a nexus one Which i sold and later bought the HD2, i have applied almost every rom available and text messaging lags a lot, also Stock rom is too slow and other roms are smooth and fast but out of the nowhere freeze and give me major problems.
it has better hardware than the nexus but to tel you the thruth, the nexus one with stock everything is so much faster than the HD2, all i can say is try it for yourself, im however swicthing back to the nexus or mytouch slide, because even my g1 was a lot faster than this phone with much less hardware, and i am not joking neither do i mean to say windows mobile sucks, but it is just for me.
if i get flamed, too bad!

get the Nexus. I traded my HD2 for one and love it.
Android is so much faster and is so much easier to use than WinMo.
That being said, if you need it for business, go with the HD2.
I had a Nexus 1 for 2 months then sold it and bought my HD2, I love them both, the Nexus 1 is more like an iPhone as far as user friendly. Win Mobile is harder to set up and change but much more powerful. I've contemplated getting another Nexus 1 but the HD2 hardware is so damn sweet, I think I'm staying with the HD2 now and waiting for the HD3 or something else.
Here is the link that i use

No, it's capable of taking some great pictures, in the right conditions and use...can you give some more details on what you're trying to take pictures of, etc? And please clarify exactly what you mean by "the picture is garbage"
Some tips:
-make sure the lens cover is clean, every time before you take pics...it doesn't take very much crud or finger grease on there to distort your images
-hold the phone as still as possible when shooting, the HD2 doesn't have a lot of instability tolerance
-lighting is crucial, you may have to make adjustments in the environment when taking indoor shots
-go into the settings on the camera (the little gear icon that appears when you hit the tab below the shutter button), and then choose "advanced". On page one is the resolution setting, and on page two is the quality setting...make sure both of those aren't set too low.
also, learning how to spell really helps...if you cant, people on here are less inclined to answer you. just a heads up

Really man...? We have people here from all different countries. Spelling is probably the least of our worries. Now noobs coming in asking about Android on HD2, probably more of an issue to call someone out on.

I can attest to this one: Couple of finger smudges and all of the sudden your once-sharp pics get blurry. A quick wipe with the inside of a cotton shirt is all I do.

You missed one key word... PEOPLE from different countries. Not the phone lol. He could be from another country of origin; meaning his spelling of words in the English dictionary might not be perfect.
Maybe he just failed English for all I know. Point is, theres far more constructive things to do on this forum than faulting other members for spelling a word wrong

Samsung vibrant is pretty awesome. I played with one yesterday. If you dont like the apps on the hd2 that pretty much limits you to android.
i would love to put android on my phone but i dont think is running all that great yet right ? or m i wrong , i think its to soon for me to do that flsh n i only started flashing not to long ago so far i tryed kumar , cell evo and another i cant rember i stayed with the kumar runs great.

what? it runs perfectly on our US version. im running a desire rom now. data works and everything. here is the link.http://gamesquare.co.uk/desire.html
to instal, extrat files to the ROOT of your sd card, then run the HARET program. i suggest you use 7-zip to extract the files.
Just got a new HD2 for 180$ brand new with just the computer connection and a rubber protector.....everything else including the only other thing I wanted the SD card wasnt included.
Was this a good deal?
I am also looking into straight custom roming this phone....have a TP2 custom romed and with geny with android.
3 questions.
1.I am not use to the snap dragon yet.....I overclocked the tp2 yet the snap dragon makes it seem like molasses...will a custom rom make the HD2 slower or will it actually increase?
2. Which is the most stable ROm out now?
3.Are there any overclockers?
That was a really good price for a HD2.
I am not aure bit I think some of the custom ROMs slightly overclock, but over all the custom ROMs run a lot better and faster on the HD2.
All the custom ROMs are pretty much very stable in my opinion.
I do not knpw of a actual overclock app for Wimdows Mobile maybe someone else can help you out there.
Thanks for the info!
I already HSPL'd and put the dinik rom onto my phone but when all the craze was getting a overclock on the tp2 I heard someone say that the HD2 already had a overclocker..
I'll keep looking around.
Thanks.

I dont need to overclock, most custom roms are already blazing fast
T-mac
Yeah I can understand what you mean but there seems to be a difference between the Leo and the TMo HD2 which never made sense to me.
I'll look through the thread and see if it does work.

Yeah the HD2 is one of the fastest phones I've had due to the snapdragon ...it makes my TP2 even overclocked feel super slow haha.
I just want to check out the overclocker to see how faster it would actually become, faster is usually a good thing. haha.
IF you guys have any other tips for the HD2 please feel free to post....I just custom romed it and thats about it....well and putting slacker on there.

About overclocking...
Taking into account how much a mainboard for HD2 costs and how many of them were destroyed by overheating, I want to warn you, beware of overclocking, Snapdragon is fast enough without any overclocking
pvii-
Yeah I see that some people have been having problems with overheating the more topics I have been reading so I might not even overclock till later down the line.
