Data Synchronization (email) Issues - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Ive been running into a bunch of issues with data sync. It would be hours before I receive any notification of emails or I would have to manually refresh my email. I check data sync and see it would be 2-3 hours since it last synced despite being in an area where I have perfect service.
I am using Advanced Task manager and have excluded my gmail app.
Really cant figure out what is causing this and any help would be appreciated.
Im currently running Cyanogen 4.2.13. This has been an issues for quite some time (4.2.9)

Was hoping to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue or has a solution.

Nexus One email issue

Hello, Ive had this problem with my nexus one on every version of the ROM i have tried (CM and stock).
When I set up my hotmail account using the Email client, it loads 25 messages but then just keeps trying to load more messages endlessly and the network usage is constantly on, which means my battery drains very fast! Is there any fix for this issue?
Its worth mentioning that even after removing the account the phone still keeps communicating with the network (both arrows are lit) until I restart the phone.
I don't have an answer, but I've had issues with the mail app playing nice with my anti-spam mail proxy, so I switched to k9 mail, and Its very nice. I found a bug in K9 and reported it to the devs, in 6 hours it was fixed.

I'm running version 2510.

[SOLVED] Gmail not syncing anymore

I just noticed a few days ago that GMail isn't syncing with my phone anymore. I send myself an email just to check and it never showed any notification untill I manually entered the application and updated. Of course, I'd ran this test before and it worked flawlessly. I really need this to work because I use my email a lot for work purposes.
I'm currently on CM-5.0.3.1, ERE36B. I don't really know what may have happened. Configuration to receive notifications apparently is ok. As far as I know the only thing that may have changed is the number of apps. Can there be some kind of interference between some app and GMail sync? Come on it's the Google Phone, if GMail can't work we've got a problem...
Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.
Go into: Settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Filter - ALL, find GMAIL and GMAIL Storage, clear data for both.
Solved! Thanks!
Hi !
Used to get these issues too on my HTC Magic (G2). Nothing wrong with my N1, but this morning, no sync (last sync seven hours ago...).
Turned everything down then restarted and it worked again.
Do you often get that? Is it a google-related issue ?

Delay in push of GMail?

Ive noticed in the past few days my GMail has been delayed for about 3-4 hours from the time it way received, till it is pushed over to my device, anyone else experiencing this?
Check your sync settings.
also check settings>wireless & networks>mobile networks>enable always-on mobile data.
if it's off push gmail can be substantially delayed.

I've noticed this as well. I've double checked all my settings and mine are correct. I'm guessing maybe it could be something on gmail's side of things and hopefully they will get it worked out.
Also make sure you're not using an auto task killer and killing the google talk app. You don't need to be signed into it, but killing it does delay google voice and gmail. BTW I'm not having any issue with my gmail, or google apps account. All coming through just as fast or faster than the websites.

[Q] Anyone having trouble with getting emails?

The past 2 days or so I haven't been getting emails through my phone. I'm not really sure what's going on. I haven't changed any settings (I think). I think the gmail app updated recently though.. I have background info on (of course) so ... not sure. Anyone else?
My wife had similar issues where the email wouldn't sync. She'd either never receive notification on her phone, or she would delete mail on the phone and it would still appear on the PC.
Try going to Settings->Applications->All Applications and clear your Gmail data entirely. You will have to re-login to it, but that fixed her problem quickly.

Problem with Google Sync

Hey guys, I have been having a problem with Google Sync for some time now and wondered if anyone else
has the same problem. For me the auto-sync no longer works for any of the Google services, most noticeably gmail. On my old DHD and the N4 when I just got it, emails would appear on my device almost instantaneously after being sent no matter if I was on 3G or Wi-Fi or if phone was asleep. For last couple months the phone would sync emails about 1nce a day and since I need to know when new emails arrive, I'm forced to force sync from either Google sync in settings, or by clicking refresh from GMail itself.
I googled this issue many times and there seems to be a lot of people with the same problems and many different suggestions, I tried the ones listed below, but nothing works and if anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know!
I have 3 Gmail accounts and my auto sync is turned on from both the quick toggles in notification bar, the power widget (don't use it just wanted to see if it would help) and from data usage settings. I'm running AOKP ROM milestone 1 but this problem as far as I remember happened on other ROMs too. I also do not have any power saving apps installed. I also have about 1GB of free memory. I also disabled browser sync under someone's advice.
Doing a clean flash of a ROM does help for couple of days, maybe a week, but then always the same thing happens. Clearing app data for Google apps might work, but I'm not sure if it will last and prefer a more permanent solution.
So does anyone have similar problem and/or knows a fix?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
