How can i BCC MMS? - HD2 General

My Kaiser's MMS app had the ability to CC and BCC people but there seems to be NO mention of that feature anywhere for HTC messaging.
Is there any kinda hack/tweak or setting that i'm missing?
Thanks

you should probably mention that the last time you asked this people said mms doesn't show the recipients who all you sent it to...
however it looks like from http://www.nowsms.com/MMS%20Messages.htm that the mms header may contain to, cc and bcc so if someone has the ability to view the mms header they'll be able to view all the people you sent it to.
i think if thats the case then it should be bcc by default

It definitely 'does' include that info, because i've seen it first hand. There's no option or mention of BCC in any of the option screens or messaging screens, nor in any manual and it most definitely doesn't BCC by default either :/

I'm interested in this as well...

Are there any other mms hacks than the one over at ppcgeeks?

I was wondering if there were any other mms hacks that work on the mogul other than the widely known one at ppcgeeks, cause it only works when it wants to and I would like to try a different one.
Lately there have been server issues where it just doesn't want to send any picturemails... heh, seems like Sprint is try to crack down on it
yea, and that sucks cause I tend to send alot of pics to other peoples cell phones that dont have email on their phones, or dont know how to use it.
well I figured something out!, I turned off my data conection and turned on my wifi(thanks to my wireless antenna) and triend sending again and it went off without a hitch! Damn Sprint!
Hmm, I don't even have MMS in my Mogul Inbox apps, only Text Message, Outlook, and my email account. How do you guys send MMS then?
IN my Cingular 8525, I have MMS in the Inbox apps.

I found a workaround/fix that has it working.
Change you DNS from Sprint's to Open DNS.
see : http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6...et-access.html
Then it should work every time.
here use this thread, it works.

mms works fine for me, had to softboot twice but always had to softboot twice with wisebar on my 6700, out of curiosity why would sprint want to prevent you from sending picmail when you are paying for power vision? "seems like Sprint is try to crack down on it"

Not sure if it's just me, but with that program you have to already know the person's number to enter it in? Is there a way to pull up the address book and select a number?

Wow...can't believe that I missed that!!! Thanks a bunch!
What about Alltel's ROM... they offer picture/video mail on their 6800s... can anyone extract the cabs out of it??
I don't know about anyone else, but the MMS app seemed to really slow down my phone... sometimes the messaging application would freeze up entirely when it was installed!
So, I found that at least for Sprint users, you can send an email to <phone number>@pm.sprint.com, and it will show up as an MMS message on that user's phone!
This is a much more robust way to send pic mms, and my phone is much happier now without the MMS app.

they are not cabs to extract, it is not installed from the extended_rom but instead part of the ROM.
if someone else knows what files and regs are needed i could extract them and build a cab. i had considered trying to track them down and/or pulling out files/regs used in the mms cab from ppcgeeks. i could try this but i have a feeling the mms builtin to alltels has stuff all over that would be hard to track down.
it is arcsoft mms though just looks like a diff version. installing the ppcgeeks arcsoft mms cab on alltel does not produce working mms and this is part of my feeling that this version is layed out quite differently.

This is the exact same thing I experienced with the mms cab from arcsoft. My phone was sluggish and whenever I tried to go into my text message shortcut it would take up to a minute to load up.
I'll go without for now too, until we can find a way around this.
This is the OLD WAY
I use the old MMS Cab file from Verizon 6700. It's very simple to make it work. First install the Cab , then the cab text menu. after the soft reset, just go into the Arcsoft files registry and change the Enableserveredit ot 1 , default is 0. Once that is done, go to the MMS config and change to sprintpcs and the address also to sprintpcs. then thats it. This is just a brieft description if anyone wants to try it.
If anyone want me to attached the file and go step by step, just post the reply here and i'll get to it. Reason is because i don't know if everyone knows about it or not, so i won't waste time posting the files.
You will have an MMS in Messaging, YOU can send it from there, but when you received MMS pix/video it is received in the Text Message account. Basically this MMS account enable you to send MMS pix/video and receiveds then in your Text Messaging account. When receiving MMS, it will send you a link to the pix/video directly. I know on the Alltel, it takes you to the sprint messaging website and you have to log in to see pix/video. The setup above as i described, takes you directly to the pix/video and do not need to log in.
FYI:....send MMS using phone numbers not e-mail addy
Right now after doing the resolution hack, my MMS won't send out, giving me an error that says my image size of 16k or whatever is over the 0k limit? I can change my resolution to the lowest setting and it's still giving me the same error.

CC and BCC in HTC messaging

I'm probably missing something stupid/obvious - but i can't seem to find the option to BCC/CC when i'm sending an MMS?
I take it the option is there.......... somewhere?

When you send an mms, the recipients don't get a list of who you sent it to, so BCC is redundant. Simply add as many people as you like to the recipient list - you don't need a CC field.
Oh right... I could have sworn that a friend told me that he could see other ppl i'd sent the MMS to.... maybe he was just having me on then

I'm 99.9999999999999999% sure that you don't get the full list of recipients. Just try it and see - send one to your mate, and to yourself, and ask him who else you sent it to. I bet he can't tell you
okay well i sent an MMS to various work colleagues PLUS some personal contacts...... and one of my work colleagues (who has a habit of doing lame spoofed-SMS 'pranks') asked me "who is xxxxxxxxxx?" (where xxxxxxxx = one of my personal contacts)
!!!!!!!

Help me out, strange registry entry..

Help me out please, I don't know much about windows mobile or windows in general so maybe this is a stupid question.. if so I'm sorry for posting
While I was searching the registry for a value I could maybe change to confirm the sending of an sms or email message, as I often hit "send" in the bottom of the screen by accident while still typing the message, I stumbled on this strange value.
in HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCMsgEnhance\IPC\ are four keys/folders: Calendar, Email, MMS and SMS
All are empty except for "Email" that has 5 values whereunder the value named "Email", and it's value is "[email protected]"
Now I know I never visited this forum from my phone, nor have I received email from this forum on my phone..
I run a WWE 1.48.405.2 original ROM but I did download it from the original ROM section on this site.. now I have a feeling it was cooked. but then why put the webmasters email in there. so probably not..
Can someone maybe help me explain what this means? or if you have the same ROM, maybe look in your phones what the value of that key is?
Or maybe has a solution for the send message confirmation but I guess I should make a seperate topic for that..
Any help is much appreciated!
On mine (also 1.48 ROM, downloaded from HTC support), it's my hotmail account, which is the main email address on my phone.
Curious to see what others have in theirs, or what it says directly after a hard reset.
Are you sure you've not been messing and simply typed this in somewhere?
In my standard stock ROM are all entries empty
Thanks for checkin!
I'm thinking and thinking but I can't remember typing anything like that in my phone and I only have for two weeks.. the only thing that had to do with this site was the subscription mail that is listed in my IMAP mailbox on the phone, but I'm sure I never opened it or replied to it or anything..
I guess that means you're the webmaster at xda-developers then. Shall we forward all our queries to you in future

lol! Sorry if I don't reply.. I can't get into the account..!
I did a hard reset and now it's clear.. I decided not to worry about it anymore..
I'm connected to my jobs Exchange server and on mine this registry key contains the e-mail to my employers HelpDesk. Don't know if that helps clarifying anything ...

On mine, the value is an address I really have sent to.
Thanks that confirms my thoughts.. I figured it's the last address used in the email app.. so probably I have opened the confirmation mail in the list mail and tapped reply all by accident or something..
anyone maybe has a solution for a confirmation before sending an sms or email? I sometimes tap send by accident while still typing the message.. I'd rather have it ask me if I want to send the message with a popup like it does so often with other things that don't need it.. is there a tweak for it?
I know there's a tweak for the "message sent" alert.. but that's like rubbing it in after I've sent it by accident..

Yeap it is dangerous. I just mis-sent a mail. Because the send key is the left soft key. I tap the left to go to "Inbox", and two accidental taps led to "Reply All" and "Send" done before I know what is happening.
For POP3 accounts, you can turn off "send immediately" in options advanced settings. For Exchange, seems there is nothing you can do.

Annoying "fluff" when doing SMS-->email

I don't think this is G1-specific or even Android-specific, but I didn't know where else to post it. I think it is T-Mobile-specific.
Whenever I compose an SMS to an email address, T-Mobile wraps it in a bunch of "junk," so the email message ends up looking like this (attachment shows it as seen in Outlook).
Is there any way to disable this (via some setting at T-Mobile)?
I am trying to use a mobile interface to a site (in this case, BillMonk) and they don't have a shortcode -- they just say to text certain string to an email address. But I think their service is choking on the T-Mobile wrapper because it is expecting just a simple text string.
Can anyone help? This is really annoying.
Thanks!

i very much doubt you can change this.
Grr. Annoying.
Can other T-Mobile USA users confirm that when they send an SMS to an email address, they always get this behavior? If we can find some people that don't suffer from this, we can perhaps find out what account settings are different.

Yep happens with me.

SMS subject field

Maybe I'm just missing something, but this is something that's always drove me nuts with this phone. Is there anyway to add a subject to a SMS or MMS?
if i am not mistaken sms never had a subject line. Mms does. However, htc is very odd. If you send a picture you can add text to it and I believe that when it is delivered that message becomes the subject. Htc does not include bcc or cc recipients either. The only official way I have seen a heading for htc is to either flash to a custom ROM that takes out the htc messaging system or switch to the threadded option on the stock ROM. that "should" allow you to see the subject line in your mms.
I can see subject lines on received MMS, I just can't find a way to add a subject to one I'm sending.
HTC must somewhat support that field as it does show me a subject line when received, just didn't think to let me add it to the ones I send.
I tested just adding text with a pic and it doesn't show the text as a subject when received by others.
I really miss the messaging from my dead OmniaII.
