hes got it up to 1.1GHz so far
alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=312&t=1622
Saw this thread over there. Pretty ridiculous.
looks like it didnt boot at 1.4 GHZ so 1.3 will probably be the highest with most of the users running 800 to 1GHz when this kernel is released!
nice
Here's the new thread: http://alldroid.org/viewtopic.php?f=312&t=1637. The old one was taken down, but this one includes ROM builds for 800Mhz, 900MHz, and 1GHz. 1.1GHz is not included just yet, since it becomes a little unstable.

As we all know, our Heros can be overclocked to different maximum frequencies depending on how lucky we are. So, I'm starting this thread because I'm curious as to how various Heros overclock.
To start off, my Hero is stable at 730MHz. It's the North American 3G version issued by Telus in Canada.
I was running at 710MHz but that was the limit of the kernel.
749 MHz, the limit of the kernel. But the phone runs faster on flykernel at 749 than another one I had at 800
GIYF 10 char
Well,I am a lucky guy obviously! My Hero can overclock @768 and be stable enough, but as the Gallery app crashes at this frequency(dunno why) I use it @749.But maximum overclock?800 MHz for a little less than a minute!
768 max, 19 min
Iirc
I have overclocked etc phones before but I am reluctant to do so on my hero (original ROM 2.1 intact). If I may ask, is it setCPU being used to overclock? Does the phone need to be rooted?
My Hero, and the XDA app, made this post possible.

Yes, the phone needs to be rooted in order to overclock.
I personally use Overclock Widget but I think SetCPU works as well.
710mhz works fine for me. 748 is very unstable and keeps rebooting
Running @ 748 on 3uk bought about 5 months ago.

Just got 768MHz running. Not sure how stable yet, time will tell. XD
Well I can only manage 698 I can push it to 710MHz but it locks up if I put any strain on the CPU (forcing SetCPU to actually ramp up the clocks past 698).
It sux to be me I suppose
My kernel only lets me overlock to 691 Mhz (EzHero default kernel). Where can i get a kernel wich allows higher values?

Dev needs to create or edit the kernel to allow higher values. Kernels are rom specific.
Running stable at 710mhz on a 5month old Hero.
Seems that anything higher than that, and it would just freeze or become incredible unstable!

ditto that
691 is max stable. 3 months old European Hero.
710 starts eventually loop boot animation.
I found that there is little to no difference between 691 and any above.
So I keep mine at 691.
currantly 156>710 i can push it up to 756 but a tad unstable. but been running at that for over a week now..
vallain 12 1 year old hero gsm
Mine is stable at 653 mHz... However it's almost a year old (it's birthday is 7. of august)
any suggestions...... ive been seeing people get 1.5 GHZ sooo i kinda feel bad lol. And b4 anyone says anything i know 1.3 GHZ isnt bad lol
Not every phone can overclock the same. I personally wouldn't keep the phone over 1.2 ghz. Other than fooling around there isn't much reason to clock it higher.

Check out the android development section. There is a VERY lengthy thread about this stuff.
Every phone is diff I can't overclock more than 1.3 also

Yep just like everyone says.....it's all built differently. I personally would keep mines at 1Ghz or 1.1Ghz. It's fast enough at 800MHz. Maybe occasionally just to make myself feel good, I'd run 1.2Ghz. Just imagine what 800MHz or 1GHz will be like when a optimized custom ROM can be installed....Stupid FAST!!
1.46 Ghz here since the OC was discovered..
No problem yet, battery life almost never changed, and I'm loving it.
As others have said, it varies. Not every processor will overclock the same, which is why these are sold at a slower speed than possible.
My friend and I bought the same PC processors at the same time. Mine overclocks to 3.6ghz, and I could only get 3.2ghz with his. Nothing is perfectly identical
Just wanted to let everyone know about development. I personally wasnt expecting this so soon but the devs are working hard. Just wanted to shed some light on the development section.

Really interesting. Thanks!
it was made by Mr SetCPU himself
guyz one my frnd bought sgs2 recently and today he came to me for overclocking and to root his fone as i hve sgs2 for almost 2 months so after rooting i installed tegrak overclock ultimate and after overclocking that thing i get a feeling of commiting suicide as d results were
max overclock 2.0 f*cking ghz @ 1500mv core and 1200 mv internal voltages
where mine can even think of 1.6 ghz which is unstable mine overclock is
1.5 ghz @ 1275mv core and 1050 internals which is perfectly stable till
so why dis **** is happening and please dont say no 2 cpu's are same one can go while other cant even think of.....
please guyz tell me something
Thanks for creating a new thread that links us to an existing thread. That's exactly how you're supposed to use the forums.

1.6ghz stable
hey I just installed ninphetamine kernel on stock rom, used voltage control to OC to 1.6ghz and UV some frequencies. I am getting 4400+ scores now and 8000+ scores on CF benchmark. not bad?
so guys i am new to the evo and i have a asus transformer overclock to 1.7 ghz however i was wondering is there something we have over clocking to 1.6 or similar to that what kernal are you guys using and what feature do you have i am interesting in a nice ui with a over clocked kernal however this place is so big i can't find anyting do they even have a o.c. kernal??

Most Evo's cannot overclock beyond 1190 MHz.
Overclocking is only so effective.
Just because something is overclocked to 2500 mhz it doesn't mean that it performs better than overclocked to 1900 mhz.
It's been about a year since any benchmarking threads have been created for the A500, and I'm interested to see how people are getting better performance.
I'm running Flexreaper v5 and I score around 6200 in AnTuTu. One other ROMs and other kernels I'm getting around 4300. However, the AnTuTu comparison charts show quite a few people scoring 7500+ with the A500.
How are people getting such high results?
Overclocking maybe?

Hoping for something a bit more specific. Kernel, ROM, CPU Frequency...
BTW - Mine is OCed to 1.5 GHz
Think I found one of the ROMs that's getting such high performance. I got the JB ROM from he would cannot be named, and this thing flies! 5600 in AnTuTu with no OC. Set GPU to 400 MHz and OC'ed CPU to 1.6 GHz, and that clocked in at 7225.

I'd be a little careful at 1.6. Runs a little unstable, and is only for benchmarks.

It looks like the new kernel allows clocking up to 1.68, so I have just left it at an even 1.6. I haven't run into any major instability so far (knock on wood), and I really like how smooth it is. I've finally been able to play Asphalt 7 smoothly (good way to blow off steam at work). Thanks, though.
