Look for a webite called olivetree and look for a program called Biblereader for Windows Mobile. Some of the stuff on the website is free and some isn't. Look for a section called free items along the top of the page. There are around 150+ programs free to download.
I've been using this software since I had a nokia N95 several years ago. Highly recommend it.

BibleReader from Olivetree works on the Rhodium, this is what I use with AT&T Tilt 2.

Hey, better late than never, right?
I was roaming the internet, came across this and remembered your post. Hope you find something close to what you're looking for here.
Remember that if Google doesn't give you what you're looking for, there are other search engines, like Metacrawler.
Anyway, here's the link:
MOD EDIT: links to warez or sites posting warez are not allowed.

Try mobile.biblegateway.com. It isn't exactly an app, but when I have a data signal or wifi, it's my first choice. You can do quick searches, its finger and keyboard friendly, and you read in any translation for free. Check it out.

using olivetree with the free darby translation

re: bible app
I found Pocket esword bibile application to be the best free one so far. It works on all wm roms. If you want, just do a search and it should take you to the site.
Many free bibles, bible dictionaries, commentaries and others are free. Some newer versions of bibles are for a price

Pocket e-Sword has some interesting issues with WM 6.5 & WVGA. It takes some playing, but you can get it working pretty nicely. Olivetree is good & has lots of free resources (along with some excellent paid tools). I've also heard Laridian's Bible app works well -- although, from what I've seen, none of it is free. There's also a free "finger friendly" Bible app being developed in the WM Apps & Games forum, here, that works pretty well for reading & following sermon passages -- not enough there, yet to use it as a study tool.

Looks useful. Very quick to load and easy to use. Though I love PocketCM, it sometimes gets frustrating trying to select a contact.
Is the attached cab file a demo?

The cab on - is fully functional, but time-limited.
The cab I posted is straight from the above website.
I really like this software, but I cannot find anywhere on your site to buy a license.

Though I was expecting it to be about $10 when released, if you actually use it, and compare it to what's around, you'll find it's worth every penny/pence/shilling/etc of the amount now being charged.
And I don't even use the GPS function. The "contact search and use" function kicks all others out there arses IMO. And then factor in its speed and very small memory footprint, and you have what some consider the best custom WM app of the year.
Is the cab a trial so we can test it 1st and for how many days? Thanks.

Because the author has turned greedy and is using this post as free advertising instead of paying for a spot on xda-developers like all the other ADVERTISERS of commercial software do.
Your website does not display option 5 (Purchase) in FireFox which is why I couldn't find it.
$14.99 for this app? ahahaahaa
VGA ??
Quite expensive for an app without VGA-Support
Compare it e.g. with the VITO-App (link below, $9.95) or PocketCM (free)

For Jahnotto - it is all about making profit !!
Well, her is the cab file for version 1.00 beta 2 - from the time when it was a non-profit projekt, and it deserved its place on "Development and Hacking".
After beta 2, came the beta 3 - that supposedly also was just an improvement in the GPS area. But after installing it, a new change have been added - because suddenly a new menu appears with "Manage license".
So one take advantage of all the alpha, and beta testers - for the sole purpose of profit.
My comment:
At first, this started out as a hobby project. I intended to make a better contact app for myself and posted about it here on xda-developers. It turned out that lots of people loved it, and thus I spent far more time than expected on doing development.
As I spent more and more time, I decided to charge a modest sum for it. You can hardly get a meal for $14.99. That way, I can defend spending even more time on making it even better.
If you don't like it, don't use it. If it's too expensive for you, don't buy it. But please respect my time, my efforts and don't spread beta versions with bugs in it. You're just making problems for those who are using it. It's a reason why there were two more betas after beta 2.
Beta 2 works great.

Freeware? Apps, games?

I was trying to find the best games or apps for wm5 or 6 that are freeware.
Any suggestions? And the most helpful would be a free p2p program. I found winmobile but it costs 20 dollars and I would rather use a freeware alternative if possible. Thanks

um, for freeware programs use http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ it has some really good stuff. check it out
http://www.freecabs.de/ is formatted to browse from your phone. German-hosted site in English. Good mix of free for life and trial-ware.
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ sikol121 already mentioned it, though...but it bears repeating.
http://www.freewareppc.com/ Very current.
http://www.modaco.com/ make sure what you download is made for your PPC.
http://www.pdagold.com/ Czech site, very current.
http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/ I like this site a lot for its ratings by the author. Site can be sorted by rating, allowing you to ignore a lot of drek software.
http://www.ppcsg.com/index.php?showtopic=58687 This is just one amazing (although somewhat dated) list of software for phones. Not all freeware, mind you.
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/_top/bestsites.asp A somewhat dated list of websites catering to PPCs.
As to the question of what's best, that isn't a question people like to tackle. What I like best are things that pack a lot of function, and freeware is usually the world of the one-trick pony. I have selectively used a great deal of freeware, but if it's a unitasker, I usually look for something else that does the job along with a few other jobs I need done. That may not be how you define best, so my advice is try stuff, and if you don't like it, delete it.
P2P
http://www3.informatik.uni-wuerzburg.de/research/projects/siemens-mopi/
This site is a research portal for a project that's attempting to port eMule over to ppc protocols. It's interesting, but they don't have any downloads from the front page, so I doubt that anything happened.
P2P isn't really friendly to PPCs. All that data xfer would really wear out the battery fast. Easily as fast or faster than calling people. Also, even with an SD chip, you're limited to 2GB of storage, so it's not like you're downloading movies, or more than a dozen albums. Not sure why you'd want this functionality in a PPC.
**************** for good gaming and application. i got lot of stuff up to now. just try u need to register
MOD EDIT: The site you posted is a WAREZ site. This is a breach of forum rules.
I have also removed the link to "Cracked" software in your signature. WAREZ is the enemy of the developer and we are a site that promotes development.

Barcorama - barcode reader software

Hello xda-developers
I am developing an application that utilizes the phone's camera to shoot and recognize 1D (and 2D) barcodes, like the ones found on virtually every consumer's product. The app is basically developed on my kaiser, that's why the main discussion thread is on the kaiser's forum, here (to moderators: please let me know if this cross-threading is inappropriate... or maybe close one of two so the discussion won't fork).
No kaiser specific API's are used, so the app should run on any device with .NET v2.0. Keep in mind though that, without a focus-capable phone, most barcodes will probably fail to be recognized!
have fun,

Is it possible to make it look up the barcode on Amazon to find the best price etc? That would be well handy when shopping!
Something like Delicious Library for Macs would be perfect on Windows Mobile

Doesn't BarcodeZilla already do that?
Hmm, nice. I want the barcode reader code for another project I'm working on and was only willing to do the Amazon thing if someone gave me the code and asked for it
I found some code for .NET that can read barcodes but so far haven't got it to work on .NET CF

The Top Free Android Apps

Hi folks,
I've posted about this in the Hero forum some time back, but I'm rocking the Desire now and I hope that you might have use for it as well. I've tried to gather the top free apps Android has to offer, with descriptions, links back to the developers' websites, QR codes and hands-on videos. It's currently more than a 100 apps divided in 11 categories, and I always try to keep the list up-to-date.
What do you guys think of it? Any ideas on how I can improve the guide? Did I miss to include any great apps?
Here's the URL if you want to check it out:

nice
Nice list, i really liked Buzz Deck and issuu
Have made some major updates to the top free Android apps guide, and it now includes the best widgets and live wallpapers as well. There are of course some good apps missing, but it should be pretty complete and up-to-date.
Running isn't the only form of working out.
JEFit is a fantastic weight lifting application.
VPlayer is a great video player for playing non-native video formats and is vastly superior to rockplayer.
Colornote is a good notes application.
Movies is fantastic if you're into cinema.
thnx 4 ur effort=)
found a few nice apps, also saw some I already had.
thanks
Great idea, thanks. I honestly read these and find them helpful from time to time, which says a lot since I ignore the vast majority of typical low quality internet publications in general.
Nru is another AR app similar to Layar.

Android App Judge

I started a new blog, androidappjudge.com! Check it out. PM me if you want an app reviewed or want to review an app. I'm not a professional by any means, just having fun.
I always enjoy sites like these, but I usually rely on Twitter for updates
I saw in your about section that it's coming soon so whenever it does I'm on it
Ironically enough, it's not optimized for mobile browsing. You should consider having a mobile version of the website. Possibly m.androidappjudget.com? What are you using for web development?
Great idea, I'll check back with it once in a while and watch the progression.
Thanks for the input! This is my first blog/website, I'm learning as I go. It's been fun so far! I'm going to get on that mobile site now.

I'm very interested in this, let me know what you need from me to do.
I just created a mobile site for it with mobify.me. Dosen't look too hot, but I'll be working on it.

As much as I hate going against Google in any way possible, Wordpress is better for blogging if you're going the mobile route =/
Wordpress has an automatic mobile feature actually. My friend has a blog site on Wordpress that he didn't do anything with other than post and it formats for mobile on my phone.
Try and see if you can get the mobile to look like Wordpress does in blogger first though since you're already working on it. I'll keep checking on it though. Thanks!
I used mobify.me and I'm still trying to figure out all the ins and outs. I downloaded gimp and put together a quick little banner. A graphic designer friend is putting together something better.
Thanks for all the good advice!
Anymore feedback, I've been working on it more. I really hope people are enjoying it.
