Camera flash - HD2 General

Is there a power thrashhold of the battery beneath the camera flash doesn't work anymore? I'm saying that because it worked just fine until now at 14% power. Actually I'm not so sure if it worked even after the camera hotfix.
Please advise.

if you're down to something like 20% power it stops working to save battery.

How do you know that? I've searched the user manual and it doesn't say that.

This is a massive forum. You need to search with different types of search criteria and actually look through the search results, not just type "camera flash" and give up when it's not in the first 5 results!
Learn to use google search better - that's what the search engine is powered with, so things like + - * all mean something, as well as the important ".

Good idea for searching is using google .. just add XDA to search terms, or use site:xda-develelopers.com term. Usually it works much better then search here.

Ok. Thank you for your replys and advices.

Taking Apart My Universal

Some splash of salty water have gone through my universal and it is now dead, well almost, the red light comes on when I try to charge it, but that´s it. No way to get it into bootloader mode, etc, just a blank dead screen.
I just hope I can clean it inside by taking it apart but can´t get passed the four screws from the battery compartment.
Anyone could point me out to a guide of how to take it apart please??
U can find uni service manual on ftp: ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Universal/UNniversalL_Service_Manual_CONFIDENTIAL.pdf
its there with pictures as well
next time try search first
Thanks
I do try the search engine every time but, like many others users, find it not very useful to hit the right answer.

No problem
As you can see from the message from SpiriTwin, some ftp links work without any fuss and so I got the manual using his link.
Thanks to everyone.

Now I found these all on the very first page of the forum.
So I'm going to use a quote that is been used many times on the forum.
USE THE ****ING SEARCH TOOL.
it's there for your pleasure.
also, just browse around and who knows what nice things you may find.

Well, there is this thing about this forum.
You see, lots of people are building nice little programs for windows based phones, and there are many things that they didn't think of, because they didn't think that their keyboard was a really big problem.
They did find it a problem to have a keyboard to use with their fingers, because ot wouldn't leave enough space for their text mesaging.
battery life, it's seeded on the forum about that object.
and I did see a program that helped closing programs for you, but you might just wanna try start -> settings -> taskmanager -> buttons, maybe this already helps you
Everything on this forum is free and everyone is very willing to help you, but not if we see a question for the so maniest time.
What I propose to you, is if you are looking for something, but can't find it, make a request.
make perfectly clear what you are looking for and how this could benefit you.
maybe one of the programmers might see the benefit as well and wants to write someting for you.

Well the answers you have got show just what an unwelcoming and unfriendly place this is - certainly one of the worst forums for that I know. But then lots of useful info too, and that is the problem. Despite the "in crowd" people's suggestion the search tool is marginally more useful than wetting your finger and sticking it in the air, unless you are used to it!
Just a shame nobody has any Christmas spirit for newcomers aint it!
Hmm, I see what you mean.
Funny thing is, I didn't mean it to be this harsh, but as I read it back, I see how easily it is to provoke people.
So hereby I apologize to Hawk-Kthulu
I'll also will use the f word some less in the future.

huh? did you answer my question? so i guess there IS a thread on this somewhere? and what rule did i break?
Hi Andross77
I too find it hard to get the search results i need sometimes, try using google and putting xda developers on the end of the search string.
After searching on your query i only found a couple of threads and they dont seem to go anywhere i'm afraid.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285400 is just one.
I'm sorry that your first response was like that but a lot of people dont use the search function and it becomes very frustrating for the senior members having to answer the same questions over and over.
Anyway, welcome to the community. You will find many things here that will allow you to turn your mundane Xperia into the phone you always wanted
Kind Regards,
Creamy-Goodness
that google search using xda-d is don automaticly if one clikc search
it's only if one choose use the build in forum search it use the forum search
well also if you right click on search and say open in new tab

what is 3.2 OTA filename/where stored?

I downloaded the 3.2 update with the intention of saving to PC and installing it later. But where the heck is it???
Also, will deleting the file from the tab get rid of the install nag dialog?
Thanks

It doesn't store, and you can't save it. Look at your log file for the URL and you can d/l it that way. A simple search on this forum will give you details.
wow. If i knew enough about Android to actually understand your reply, I wouldn't have had to ask the original question.
I don't know where this log is any more than I knew where the OTA file is.

Such a helpful guy...
Actually, I do know how to use search functions, but with every browser I've tried on thee Acer, the search dialog doesn't function. Since I'm not near my PC searching isn't an option.
But, never mind. Someone asked the same question on another forum and got a real answer, not a half-baked one.

Search function works fine on tabs here. All you have to do is click "advanced". This pretty much confirms the link I sent for you

[Q] Flightmode without Prompt

Hi,
is there a possibility to avoud the popup/prompt when turning on and off the Flightmode? That's a bit annoying. Same when setting a standard app.
Thanks for every Tip
Cheers
Basler
You need to make a smali edit in system.ui to remove this nag.
Did you do a forum search? There are threads explaining exactly how to do this.
.
Sorry, i don't find guides. Searching for prompt or flightmode don't give me topics that explain what to do.
Would be thankful for a little hint.
Cheers

Only trying one or two keywords is a poor search technique. It would only take 20 seconds to try three or four different keywords. Try to use standard terminology too, not slang or idiosyncratic constructions. Reading the Samsung site or posts all over XDA would quickly tell you that "airplane mode" is the description that the vast majority of people use, not "flightmode".
And what do we wish to do? Make a mod or find a guide on how to remove the airplane mode nag /popup /warning /message on XDA, right? So lets start with about four keywords and see if we get any search hits. We can use less or more keywords or use different keywords depending on how good our results are.
Google search: mod guide remove airplane XDA
Top search result. All of the details you could possibly need.
Enjoy
