Greetings,
I was wondering if there are any hacks or apps that would automate the opening of youtube links. I use twitter a lot and clicking on links that lead to youtube videos open opera, but then, no videos. I have to copy the video name, open the youtube app and search for it. I would like something that would automagically open the youtube app and the appropriate video... any ideas ?

Hi, i know the touch diamond has a you tube application, but does it allow you actually download the videos and watch it later without any connections. or is there any other application that will allow me to download youtube videos??
Thanks !
Well I know you can paste the youtube url of the video on a site like keepvid.com and it lets u dl the file in mp4 format, and use the built in video player to play it smoothest
No, the YouTube application does not allow one to save the videos to the device, though I can say it is a great little application. They seem to have kept it rather basic, yet done a great job with it.
You have access to what I believe is all the videos from YouTube, so not like with the iPhone where you had videos compressed and put into a format suitable for iPhone.
With the YouTube application, you can Bookmark your favourite videos, search videos, see lists of top rated, featured and most popular videos, you can send someone links to the videos by email (not really looked at that feature) and there is the setting where you can have it on fast download or higher quality streaming and then there is auto which I think is based upon your internet connection speed.
To watch the videos, there is no better application out there that I am aware of. I also use CorePlayer occasionally too.
As the previous poster mentioned, you can access YouTube through your web browser, take the URL, copy and paste it in at Keepvid.com and then save the file to your device that way.

Already made, search Web Video Downloader in the Hacking and Development section.
Hi
Is there a way to keep YouTube videos (or any other videos for that matter) playing in high quality, rather than having to click the left key -> More -> Watch in high quality every single time?
Cheers
you can find several apps that can download YouTube videos in the market
in the market type YouTube downloader and apps should appear
I tried a few and liked jetvd the best, however I use freedi YouTube downloader - its been discontinued but you can still download from the developers site an old version and install it.
I also saw that there's an app called freedi YouTube download helper but you need to have dolphin browser or login with YouTube account so I didn't bother with it
hope u got wat ur looking for
Just use Skyfire and go on the full YouTube site, it should automatically play them in HQ.
Has anyone here put a youtube video into an app page, and if so has it helped increase downloads at all?
Over the past week I have noticed that if I click a link for a YouTube video from some place like facebook, instagram, reddit app, that the video fails to load. I'm instead taken to the YouTube home screen and get an android system message on the bottom of my screen that says "Can't load link".
I'm 100% stock with the latest security patch, and in the U.S. Initially I thought it was a Facebook problem, but it appears to be any link to a YouTube video that causes it. Embeded YouTube videos play fine.
These linked videos play fine on other devices.

First thing i would do is, deinstall the YouTube App and reinstall it.
