this rom's i cook without device..
if moderator delete this topic, ok.
******************. My friend Ham3r here cooked like 10 roms without having the actual device, made the effort and you can't do one simple thing a test and post results? If you think that flashing a phone with a not-well-made/unfinished rom can brick your device, you should at least read the wiki or understand what is written here in the forums. And before you start to insult me or whatever, take into consideration that it IS possible that you don't have the amount of knowledge needed. Start reading - stop posting stupid things.
Mod Edited. You can make your point without insults. The warnings members give are valid for a ROM that is not tested.
welcome chef, but why in wm6.1?
6.1 is faster.
rom's for leo are only 6.5.. i don't understand that.

I can see everyone from Poland ganging up on people who ask for this ROM to be removed. It does seem strange however, that someone would cook a ROM for a device they don't own, and can't test.
99% of people will NOT flash an untested ROM. It makes no sense. Even following all the correct procedures, it could still brick the device, as the chef doesn't even know if the ROM works properly. Also, uploading as a file that we need to convert maybe isn't the best thing to do either. Most people don't have the tools or knowledge to convert these files.
Can we please end the flaming and insults. How old are you people really!?
I am intrested in 6.1 rom.
_Rayearth, you have hd2, have you tested it?
Thanks.
It's because we do test untested roms and therefore we know better
I some1 want to remove thread just because it offers untested rom, then I think this person should do a little research on this matter.
BTW, is it realy so hard not to read this thread if you don't like/use the content? just ignore it.
hrcro, yes I have but personaly, I think it would hard to use it with fingers on 6.1
on the other hand, clean and fast rom like this is rare these days
The vast majority of roms on here are untested before posted, the only difference is half the chefs don't tell you! Chefs with custom kitchens cook for a lot of devices and post for users to test. NRGZ28 did this, yet nobody asked him to close his down, and he is a brilliant chef!
Stop asking for this to be closed, the OP has as much right as anyone to ask people to test something for him, it is the users that make the decision. If you don't want to test it, sod off and leave the thread alone.

Hello
I'm looking for some hints about the subject: how anyone can take a shipped, let me say, HTC Desire rom and let it work on HD2.
I'm not talking about doing heavy tweaks, modifications and so on... just to take a stock Android ROM and have it working on HD2.
I asked to some chefs and received some hints but It's not enough.
I don't want to think that this is a "secret" and I think would be great if some chef would share his experience/step-by-step instruction on how to do this.
As I said before, I think we could start just with simple porting of a stock htc desire ROM, just to understand all the steps. I think that further steps on how to customize and tweaks will be explored later and anyone could experiment itself.. but we need a basic starting point.
Some step by step instruction will be great like:
1) Download shipped rom from here .........
2) unrar it in linux folder
3) copy this folder, rename the other one, dowload this file, copy this...
4) execute shell command XXXXX
5) copy on your sd card
6) boot...
of course I know it's not so easy, but is just an exaple on what I ask here. I think there are a lot of other perople looking for this.
Thanks to any chef/dev that would to explain to our noobs how to get the "magic"
p.s.
I ask the moderators to keep, if possible, this thread in the Dev forum... this because we need help from devs here and in the Q&A forum it will be never noticed.

Yes, I was pointed to that thread too. If you look at the end there are some questions I did. The problem is that is based on MIUI... That is already a custom ROM.
I think the better way to understand the process (not just do it) is to have hints on how to port a standard/stock HTC DESIRE rom.

Hello, I was just replying on the other thread to thanks you for the answers
I will try to follow your guide to port a stock desire rom (strange that are laggy for you... for me they fly...)
Anyway it's still something not clear about the donor files... If it's ok to take them from an already HD2 working rom or not.. but I will ask on your thread, avoid to make confusion
no one tip from the devs?
I'm start thinking that instructions on rom cooking for hd2 is like a secret

Did you cook a MIUI rom or a Sense rom or a stock android rom?
For the cedesmith's initrd.gz I was thinking the same thing.. maybe we have to ask directly to him.

Rafroid
Typhoon
best roms on xda. Really nice work guys!
But still, no one shares the "secret" I have tried several things myself, but it didnt work. Would really appreciate if someone could share how to port a rom to the hd2.
Yeah would be great if tyween and rafpigna let us know how they managed it, what guides/reference they started of on or if they have any tips for us etc
I totally agree, I would definitly cook my own rom if I knew how to...

Part of the forums rules is not to use foul language by the way, I don't care but some people might so you should refrain from doing so.
As for your problem, you will probably have to follow the above post's advice. I don't understand why you couldn't have just changed the account through the market? Why bother with root explorer and deleting/renaming potentially crucial files? Makes no sense.
Finally, I got some answers! I feel like I'm in Fringe or sth.

I used it with my simcard at the first week when I get my phone and entered the market with a HTC sense account. But after the first week my damn operator closed the my phone to calling because of I haven't registered it yet with a passport. Then I have to use it without the card until I find a passport and when I took off the simcard the HTC sense passed away and when I tried to open market it asked me the password of the account and I had no idea about it.

i found lots of roms here and guids, but as an noob those guides are really not understandable and really make my head hurt, lol.
could some one explain to me step by step how to make my lame windows phone to an modern awesome android phone?
thanks very much, yoni.

Thank you for this thread.
I own and maintain 2 HTC HD2s (T-Mo edition), and both have been using custom Android NAND-based ROMs ever since I got the phones. The issue is that with time, there are more and more random bugs and reboots. Like a ROM suddenly crashing and rebooting, and upon reboot some programs are missing (needs a reboot or a reboot + Dalvik clear to fix), or other strange stuff happens such as available internal memory suddenly jumps to zero (that one only happened once). I feel like despite my best attempts to do clean installs, something's been accumulating and messing things up.
For reference, I have been using SuperWipe as of late, but while it does free up more internal space, it still does not help. My go-to ROM has been Gingerbread MIUI, which has been smooth and stable, but even with that ROM my phones have been crashing a lot lately and exhibiting various bad behavior. I've tried Gingerbread ROMs as well as 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, and 4.4 variants so far over time and have changed internal partition sizes accordingly.
What is the best course of action here? I'm thinking complete wipe and reinstall of everything from scratch. Does that mean I need to reflash HSPL and start from there? It's been a while since I've done that, so I'm trying to remember all the steps. Any general suggestions or ideas about what might be causing the increasingly aberrant behavior?

Hi Photoelectric,
I can only assume that you suffer from bad NAND blocks caused by too many flashings and/or bad a flash. Maybe this points you to a direction where you can check for yourself:

A tutorial how to check is included in the first post. If bad blocks are the cause of your problems I assume that setting up your ROMs as NativeSD circumvents your phones bad behaviour. @Robbie P, kuzibri, rirozizo am I right?
Kind regards

It could be bad blocks causing Photoelectric's problems, it would be good to find out where they are in nand and increasing the size of the partition they reside in.
if using clk see second post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279582
if using mgldr, after switching off android, go to magldr menu/services/dmesg to sd and look at file dmesg.txt on sdcard. Somewhere in there there may be reference to bad blocks and what partition they are in, post dmesg.txt here if in doubt.
