I have downloaded various HTC home screen plugins ( the large plugin with the time displayed ), but not found the one i want.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a COLOUR 6 button HTC home plugin suitable for polaris please..?

Just take the out of the box Home of your polaris and owerwrite the
icon files in windows folder with one of the icon packages around.
So you can exactly decide which icon to use for each single item.
Just be sure to quit and restart the Today Home after overwriting
the files with something like Resco Explorer.

[03/31/08 Release Version Beta 1.2] - Now able to add launch program items., which gives you the ability to add any program to an item and display the programs icon. See the second thumbnail.
I have made this plug-in because the HTC Home just took up to much room on QVGA device.
Right now it’s pretty much just text based but the font size is adjustable, borders can be added and items can be moved around in the plug-in window which gives you ability to position them where you want. Also when an item is touched the corresponding program will popup.
Installation instructions
To install this plug-in: Execute the cab file and then go to setting/today/items to force the today screen to pickup this item. Also there is a sample layout which can be accessed from the main menu, load sample. To select the main menu: Tap on the top left side of the plug-in, which is the same position as the icon. This is the same for all modes.
The sample layout has some empty launch program items, they have "no exec" text in them. If you select them it will bring up a select program dialog, where you can select lunch program.
Note: I have not updated instructions document for this version, this will come soon.
Pervious users please delete the layout.dat found in the /program files/todayview/, this can cause file locking problems if you try to load old version layouts.
System requirements: PPC Windows 5.0 or higher

Looks like a much-needed mash-up of LVTime and HTCPlus. I've used both of those and was totally satisfied with neither, so I'd love to take it for a spin.
I've been looking for a clock plugin like this - I have an iPaq, so no HTC Home. I also don't have a phone, but if you could create a view displaying email and tasks and date, I'd definately be glad to have it on my todayscreen

First things first - I would like to give a big thankyou to MRE-net for the original idea for my theme, also for his help with setting up a CAB file. Without his input i would not have been able to have achieved this. Also for this task i have used the Manila ed tool to great effect so thanks to the developers of that as well.

Warning: The usual caveat applies to this, use it at your own risk. However the CAB file works perfectly on my 1.37 ROM and has also been used successfully on a 1.93 ROM so you should have no problems at all.

Here is my icon set, All the files are PNG with transparent backgrounds.

The Call history - Messages - Email - Internet - Photos, and Weather icons i made myself using various downloaded icon files and a bit of 'cut and paste' wizardry. The Home - Contacts - Calandar and Music icons are files i downloaded without any editing. For the Settings and Programs tabs i used icons supplied by MRE-net(thanks again)
In my opinion they look great on the Diamond.
I don't use the Email tab which is why you won't see it in the screenshots, but there is an Email icon included in the CAB. I'm not %100 convinced with the Music icon, but i couldn't find another one that i feel fits better, i'll change this if i find a better one.
I particularly like my Weather Icon, took me ages to find and then Paintshop it to my requirements. It's amazing how hard it is to find good 3D weather icons!!
I have these saved in CAB file, which installs perfectly, so once again if anyone would like to try my icons you can download the CAB from here -

To install simply- Disable TF3D
Install CAB (Automatic soft reset will occur)

Thanks, I've certainly got the bug for this now!! I'm working on some other stuff like new icons for the Call history list and various other bits bobs so hopefully i can come up with some good stuff.

Hi, unfortunately i didn't include a calander icon as i don't have the calander tab(don't think i have the original Manila file), as far as the missed call icon goes are you talking about a seperate 'Missed call' Tab? or do you mean call history? there is a call history icon but no missed call, this is because i don't have a seperate missed call tab. That said i could quite easily amend the call history icon to a 'Red' Missed call icon for you if yo want.

Yeah it's the top row third from the left. I will look in to a calander icon when i get chance.

Making *.theme files is really simple.
Just zip the changed manila files with Manila editor and rename *.zip to *.theme...et voila
Also another request , can you mirror some images so they all facing the same direction? (like home etc..)

I have been changing the links several times over the last hour so it may be worth trying again. You may also see the download countdown time countdown twice, just bear with it.

I've done that for you, don't know why i didn't think of it before!!!! It's in the V3 CAB.
I'll look at doing a theme file in a bit.

Currently im using Battery-Status + UltimateLaunch...It's very stable, but i don't like the theme anymore...also it doesnt support landscape...
So i want a new "Today Plugin".
"Wishlist" for the TodayPlugin:
- Portrait + Landscape Support
- Good looking (maybe a "modern" style)
- Stable (no Beta's, besides its stable!)
- Today-Screen integration (No MobileShell,PointUI,..., cause it's a "lay-over"-App(Reason for this: With this apps you need a hack/workaround, that the original today screen is NEVER shown!))
- low requirements (fast)
- Customizable (Define Program Pages, and define my own sms,mail,calendar,... -apps)
Which today plugin can i use???

Truth is there is nothing that is %100 how you requested. Not yet anyway.
You have three you can look into:
Throttle Launcher (My favorite---ThrottleLauncher.com)
Manilla2D
GSmart
There is also HTC Home, but I think your more into the above stuff.
You must at least try Manila2D (TouchFlo2D).

I've tried Manilla 2D and...wow, THIS is what im searching for
BUT i have a lot of problems with it...

the zip file "manila.zip" (the first downloadlink in this post) and installed all apps, including the 12MB big cab "Manila2D_1.00_1819.2926.CAB"
then i installed the manilla2D configuration tool...
then i've downloaded the german translation, an copied all files in the "windows" folder of the archive to my windows-folder of my device...
then i've downloaded the "bliss" theme (tsk+wall) and copied it also in my windows folder...then i activated the tsk file...
after this, m2d was starting...but i have following problems with it:
- If i switch to landscape, m2d stays portrait...so the bottom items are cropped...
- i cant see any text on the home tab....i can see the icons of "calendar" and "missed calls", but i CAN't see any text next to it! same problem on the "settings tab"...just the icons, no text...the same problem in the HTC album (if i click on a picture in the picture tab the album shows up...if i click the bottom right icon, i can see 4 lines..i think these are the options, but i cant see any text!!
- if i go to the weather tab, i cant see anything...blank screen...(maybe its the same issue, such as the "no-text"-issue in the tabs i mentioned above?)
- in the sms tab sometimes, there is "(null)" instead of the date...in the mail app this "(null)" is ALWAYS shown instead of the date...
- where can i download themes for m2d and add it in the m2d configuration tool?
- and is it normal, that i have to overwrite the background-png in the "manilaGFX" folder to gain my own background in m2d??

Dude, I know that you are confused, but everything is in the Manilla thread.
This thread shouldn't be opened.
the plugin (application) in my opinion would best meet all your requirement is wad 2, eventhough it is not free but you can download a trial version. it is highly customizable and you can find some very beautiful and modern looks. this is best application if you want to replace your desktop.
p.s recommended for advanced users only

Installing Cookie's Home Tab gives you the option to keep using Sense, with the possibility to simply drag away your quicklinks, displaying only the time and your wallpaper.
Or you can go to Settings => All Settings => Today
Uncheck HTC Sense and enable Windows Default
This will allow you to use the main Windows OS interface
