Wow i wouldnt be posting this unless i was blown away. i bought a class 6 microsd card to replace my class 2. i thought it might be a little faster but nothing major but man was i wrong!!!! with this new card it is really fast apps loading transfer times ect... it is flying!!! i just wanted to post this for everyone who is thinking of buying a higher class card bc it is really worth it and has made my G1 fly again!!
What brand did you get? SanDisk, Transcend, A-Data?
I have a Sandisk Mobile Ultra Class 6 8Gb, and stuff flies. I got mine for about $40/45 off newegg about 6 or so months ago.
I just bought a G2 with Class2 card, I'm very regret for I didn't know the SD card speed before.
I just got a Sandisk Mobile Ultra Class 6 4GIG for £9 off amazon and its fast
I just picked up a pqi class 6 8gb to replace my stock class 2 1gb that came with the phone so I am excited to see this difference...
its a transcend 4GB microSDHC card got it off amazon for 10 bucks.
help?
can someone please post a link to the 8gb class 6 sandisk? I can only find class 4!
Thanks XDAers, I just remembered I bought a 4GB Class 6 hardly used microSD about a year ago and I had it in my laptop. I guess I did good and scored it new for $7.99, LOL. Looks like I can finally move up from from the subpar Sandisk the G1 came with.
I'm going to keep the wipe/flash life going until a suitable replacement comes out... maybe the Nexus Two?

hi guys
my pro comes during next week and i wanted to check what size memory cards it'll take. If it supports Micro SD will it support Micro SD HC cards? What's the maximum size it'll support please?
thanks.

see the photo number 6
so for £17 an 8GB SDHC card from play.com is my best option really? Any other suggestions?
That's even cheaper than Ebay!
I bought a 2GB Sandisk one from Play for my Artemis and it buggered my phone! Play were a bit arsey about replacing it, but did eventually after a load of emails and phone calls
8 gig rox!
I have 2 8 gigs that I switch back and forth...it was kind of funny to use my phone as an external hard drive via usb! The phone also has disk mode, faster communication to the sd card...
Its almost sick as we keep getting more and more memory! pretty soon we will get rid of moving part drives and everything will be memory!
I've bought an 8gb sandisk class 6 with p&p for around £27 off ebay.
Don't forget that there isn't just size, but speed as well.
As far as I know, the current 16gb cards are class 2, even though some places are stating 4. (I've not come across anybody that can prove they have a class 4) And sandisk isn't even showing details themselves yet.
16 gb microsd class 4 does not exist.
there is only class 2 for this size, the rest are fake!
class 2 should be enough for regular user though...but then again, who on this forum is a regular user? )
I have a Sandisk 16GB Class 2 card - works perfectly.
Does anyone know what Device Class the Touch Pro is?
There is no need for a class 4 card if the unit is a class 2...
Is there any good benchmarking programs for reading SDcards on WM6.1?
16gb, saying class 4 £46.95 http://www.memorybits.co.uk/shop/mi...23-in-1-multi-card-sdsdq016ge11mplus23in/9078
have ordered from them before no issues
No one is selling Class 4 currently, their information is incorrect - many others are similarly stating Class 4 but shipping Class 2. Class 4 is not yet available.

I use Pocket Mechanic on my Tytn II (still running WM6.0); it has a pretty good benchmark suite. I ran it on a SanDisk 16 GB Class 2 I picked up the other day and got write speeds of 1.3 MB/sec. The same test on a SanDisk 8GB Class 4 gives a write speed of 2.05 MB/sec. Those numbers suggest to me that the device is the main impediment to performance -- I should have seen at least 2MB/sec and 4MB/sec respectively (that's what Class 2 & Class 4 mean).
And that's a Tytn II but I'm very interested in what difference it makes in a Touch Pro..
my choice is between the:
Sandisk Mobile Ultra microSDHC 8GB (Think it's class 6) (€38,50)
and the
Sandsik microSDHC 8GB (Which is class 2) (€24,95)
And I really don't know which one to go for.. I somewhere found a Nokia N95-3 review which told that the difference was noticable between the 2 cards.. but I don't know if it's true for the TP..
Any help on this matter?
You guys really need to steer clear of Ebay for memory, to many fakes of rubbish quality, I have used both of these places before and they are excellent and reliable, I just bought a genuine Class 6 sandisk 8GB micro SD plus a keychain USB adapter for £26.50 delivered, from the first place
www.picstop.co.uk
www.7dayshop.co.uk
The pro is class 4 or better i tried wth c1 c2 and c4 cards c4 works the fastest almost 16mb transfer speed via the phone that is not bad.... a full os flash from c4 card take just 5 min nbh image size 154mb so talking about a heavy-weight os. but the same progress with my 4 gb c2 card take over 10min ???? funny
The SanDisk 8GB Mobile Ultra class 6 is superb!!
I've bought this Sandisk micro SDHC 8GB class 6 at 'The phone House' for about 40 euro. The class 4 device was 10 euro less expensive. Yes expensive but worth every cent. I've used several brands the past 6 years and I'll stick to SanDisk: reliable no issues at all and fast!
At this moment 16GB is available but only class 2. Don't buy them because you don't want a bottle neck in your overall system performance!!
Woot has 4gb MicroSD cards for $11 shipped. I just snagged two, but hurry the deal is only good for one day.
i actually emailed HTC about this and got the following email as a reply
Code:
Good Evening,
Thank you for your enquiry about the HTC Touch Pro.
The Touch Pro has been tested with a 16gb MicroSDHC card and it works fine, as for 32gb and 64gb I cannot be sure, as they have not been released yet. More information bout the compatibility of these cards will be available after they have been released and tested.
Please do not reply to this email as this email address is not monitored for replies.
Best regards,

ive also purchased this

from here

I'm currently using a class-4 6gb microsd from sandisk, serial number checked at site and its genuine
All 16gb microsd I can find in ebay is class-2, will I feel the difference or its not a big deal?
I've been doing some searching also and all I can find is class 2 on a 16 gb card. Suchas:
http://www.supermediastore.com/sandisk-class-2-16gb-micro-sd-sdhc-transflash-memory-card-only.html
Actually on their Website Scandisk only shows this one 16 gb card at all:
http://www.sandisk.com/Products/Item(2702)-SDSDQ-016G-A11M-SanDisk_microSDHC_16GB_Card.aspx
I've been having this exact same experience. Has the classification scheme changed or something? Why would Sandisk stop selling their fastest cards?
Adata has one- i actually have it. Its a "Turbo" class 6 16 gig micro.
here is an Amazon link.
http://www.amazon.com/DATA-microSDHC-Memory-Adapter-AUSDH16GCL6-RA1/dp/B001VLIVEE
I got mine for around $50, but you have to watch for the sales.
Hope this helps
SS
Thanks for your helpful response! This is exactly what I need.
I still don't understand why Sandisk no longer sells Class 4 and 6 micro SD cards, but I guess it's their loss: I'll be buying this A-Data one.
Thanks again!

RE 16gb class 4 cards
Hiya,
Thats very unusual, i am sure Sandisk does a class 4 card.
I've only just recently got my hands on a SanDisk Mobile Ultra(TM) 16GB card, its got a number 4 symbol embossed onto the outer packaging of the chip! Defo not a 2, unless i've been had! lol
Comes with an excellent guarantee.
I hope this is of use. :-D
Easy enough to find on amazon.
Question for some techy------>
For class 6 to work does the host device need to support it to achieve the improved transfer/read/write data rates? Would love a Class 6 SDHC.

Looking forward to finally turning my phone into my day-to-day mp3 player, as well as running debian and apps2sd, I've been reading all the latest threads about sd cards and finally decided the most optimal config is a 16gb class 4.
Reasons:
· Class 6 is unnecessary as the nexus wont really take advantage of it.
· Class 2 may be kind of slow for apps2sd and debian, which I'm looking forward to investigate on.
· 16gb because although 32gb is comming, it will probably be too expensive for me.
Benchmarks:
I've looked through eBay and found a few interesting "offers", both at about $40:
SanDisk 16GB Class 2
TOPRAM 16GB Class 4
I really want a Class 4 for all I've been reading lately, but I can't afford a 16GB Class 4 SanDisk.
Does anyone know anything about "TOPRAM"? I had never heard about it before and I'm wondering if it could be a low-quality card.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
No one knows ANYTHING about TOPRAM?
I've seen ppl complaining on the internet about the device not recognizing the sd card, but i guess that happens sometimes..i think..o.o
I have always used A-Data cards, been happy with them.
here are some speed test people have done http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/SDCardSpeedTests
I use and trust PNY class 4 sd cards never failed a year in my rooted g1 and still going with apps2sd and so far with my nexus

With all the talk about SD card speeds I've been seeing lately, I was starting to regret buying the SanDisk 16gb class 2 and not getting a Class 6. But after looking at this chart, I can't imagine why I would need more speeds than that?

I have a 16GB Team Class 6 from ebay
I'm using a Polaroid 16gb class 2. Seems to be working fine for me, even running apps2sd.
I have an 8gb class 6 from RiData. seems fine to me, used on my MT3G, HD2 and now my N1.
i do agree with you though that a 16gb class 4 might just be the best cost/performance
Since we are talking about storage memory, I have a slightly unrelated question. Which is the better, microSD or internal storage that comes with some of the phones out there? In terms of speed, reliability, and cost, which one is better?
With regard to Class 6 - don't write it off if you plan to remove the card from the phone to do movie or music transfers. There are a lot of microSD adapters for computers that can exceed the performance of a Class 6 card and so if you are commonly hooking it up to a computer to transfer media then you'll be glad you went with a Class 6.
Now, if the capacity gets high enough to store all of my music, then I won't care about that issue, but personally I can only store a subset of my music on my microSD card so I do worry about the speed when attaching it to a computer...
i have that TOPRAM sd card on my nexus one i got from amazon Usa and it work very well
Class2 is definitely slower
I've used classes 2, 4 and 6 in an HTC Magic. I used apps2sd with Cyanogen Mod.
My own experience was that Class2 was definitely slower when using apps2sd. But Class4 and Class6 were better...and didn't appear to be much different. I had Class6 sdcards anyway as that is what was recommended for most of a year. They performed well.
The last ones I bought were Class 6 8GB Transcend MicroSDs for NZ$40 each (US$28-ish). That included 12.5% GST.
I've got a Rogers X10a that came with a 16GB Class 2 (2MB/s) card. Just wondering if anyone was put in a faster card and noticed any differences. There are a bunch of 16GB Class 6 (6MB/s) cards on eBay that I'm scoping out for this phone.
I got a class 6 16gb A-Data microsdhc card in my X10i. Everything seems to work fine. I got about 4 gigs of music and 3 gigs of videos on the card and no slowdowns so far. The only thing I can say is the transfer rate is higher when connected to PC from the last card I had in my phone (8GB class 2 microsdhc). I hope this was helpful.

I got a class 10 in my x10, but no difference, still lag as hell in mediascape with 13gb of music
Can anyone give me a list of compatible memory cards with the Venue Pro?
I'm looking to purchase a 32gb card but I want to make sure the card I buy will work with the battery removal/card switch method.
Specifically does the class matter? I can get a 32gb class 10 for £40 off Amazon
i think minimum of class 4 is compatible..
I've just ordered sandisk 32gb class 4.. will be informing if its working.
The class matters a lot. Best to go for only Class 2 or Class 4.

Sandisk is a good brand. However, make sure you get a genuine Sandisk card and not a fake.
I ordered a class 10

I just installed a generic class 10 32gb card and all seems fine
32gb class 4 here. i remember people saying you needed a class 2 back when we were still having the wifi problems, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
