Please, is it possible to make the HTC magic (Tim version) work on AT&T 3G network? Right now, it can only work on EDGE...
Thanks!
I goolged around. Seems it is a hardware issue making European version Magic cannot work on AT&T 3G...
You should have gotten a Rogers HTC Magic from Canada. It can run perfectly on AT&T's 3G network.

I am in Italy now and Vodaphone has the HTC Magic for sale but i cannot find the 1700mhz on the box anywhere.
I live in the US and need my data 3g to work.
Does the Magic have the same frequency bands as the T-mobile My Touch for 3g?
Nope. You have to get a Google Ion or a MyTouch 3g to get 3G on Tmobile US. The HTC Magic will only work on edge in the US.
Thanks!
That is what i thought i just wanted to make sure. I guess i will just have to wait till it is out in the US.
Thanks
It is official My Touch 3g Pre sales start July 8th on T-Mobile.

I know the 3G frequencies arent the same but can I use the myTouch on att's edge data?
yea just get the att apn info and enter it into the phone in the mobile network settings
well you can buy a htc magic from europe and it will work on the 3g network
Just buy a Rogers HTC magic it has more has slightly better hardware than the mytouch and you will be able to have 3g
Hi all knowledgeable ones
I just moved to the US, and I'm trying to get my vodafone HTC Magic to go 3G with AT&T (or even T-mobile) but all I can get is 2G.
Anyone know the reason? Is it something to do with wrong radio frequencies? Can it be fixed, or is it just the wrong hardware?
Thanks in advance
Dave
becasue the rate that t mobile 3G use in USA is 1700MHz and at&t 3G use are 800/1900MHz but your phone 3G rete are 900/2100MHz. only 2G is available for you.
will the Australian DHD version work 3G in US AT&T (like HD2 Australian T9193 does)?

It it's not Telstra, then it will NOT work on AT&T 3G. AT&T 3G requires 850/1900mhz and the DHD's 3G is on 900/2100mhz
also telstra is 850/2100 so ........ it may still not be perfect if you import
so i got this fantastic HTC Touch HD (unlocked) to replace my beat up sidekick. anyway i want to know if there's any way to use this phone on t-mobile's 3G network? what a shame it'd be if i cant.
If you have a T8282 (BLAC100) then it's not possible, the hardware isn't there to support US 3G bands. The T8285 (BLAC120) should work fine though.
Not on T-Mobile though, 8285 is for 850/1900 3G bands (AT&T) and you need 1700 for T-Mobile
