The Infinity v0.2.1 is apparently not compatible with WM6.5 very well, I even cannot set background picture for the desktop,so there must be some buttons missing.
Generally it looks very promising, compared to Touchflo 3D,it’s much more customizable, you can put any shortcuts and widgets in anywhere of the desktop, this is the feature millions are looking for;Compare to SPB Mobile Shell, the Infinity looks very similar but more agile and you can set everything neat and usable immediately.
Like SPB Mobile Shell, the Ageye Infinity let you do two most important things:
One,you put all your most important shortcuts and widgets on the desktop,NOTE any location of the desktop. While for Touchflo 3D,you basically cannot do much about the desktop, this sucks badly and I am suffercating every time I see Touchflo 3D.
Two,you put less important or less frequently used shortcuts in Favorite Folder (in SPB Mobile Shell,it’s called Launcher,in Infinity,it’s the middle button I saw when I tested it in my HTC Pro2 with WM6.5 rom).
As I didn’t see the Infinity Manual,it took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to use it, I should say it’s more or less close to SPB Mobile Shell when it comes to customization of desktop and Favorite Folder.
The difference is,for example, you want to place Contacts in the desktop, first you need to add “Shortcut” in the desktop, this Shortcut is an empty icon, then you click on this Shortcut icon to find the path of the Contacts.
If you are interested to try out Infinity v0.2.1,please download(probably need registration):
http://forum.ageye.de/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=1369
Install to your main memory, then in programs you can find a Infinity program icon, click to run.
Suggestions to developers:
1. how to set the background for desktop, the default background is not-so-good-looking,there is no button that can set this, please update based on WM6.5.
2. where is the general configuration? How to set Infinity to replace Today? How to change language? How to set the number of pages of desktop?
3. how to change the size of icons in the desktop? In SPB Mobile Shell,it got this feature, you can make the icon small, big, professional, transparent etc etc.
4. about the right and left soft key configuration,it seems that the option is very limited, can we assign any programs and widgets for the right and left soft key?
5. For Infinity own widgets, I suggest you to add Task Manager, this is most often used tool,In addition,if we can put this Task Manager in the right soft key, that will be very convenient! I saw SPB Mobile Shell has a great Task Manager widget, users can use Shell extension tool to put it beside the Launcher.
Looking forward to your great update soon!

Exactly! And it's already pretty amazing.
This UI seems to be alot like PointUI.. I dont know a lot about coding but it seems like a very early version of the same UI
I dont doubt that it is entirely different that's just my two cents from screen shots of Infinity.
Pointui you can use tons and tons of different themes and wigets etc as well.
ie:Pointui Sense, Nexus One, Mac OS... the list really is endless.
Just some food for thought. If you like Infinity you should definaly give pointui a try. That said...... if you're the developer and just trying to spread the word about Infinity.. My bad! I looks promising!

It's not really like PointUI - it doesn't crash as often
No, I've tried (bought) PointUI and other than the PointSense theme (which has been abandoned by its developer) there's nothing much about PointUI to get excited about Add to that the fact that PointUI hasn't seen an update from its developers in a very long time...
I think that Infinity shows more promise than both SPB Mobile Shell and PointUI combined. People are forgetting that what they've seen so far is only an ALPHA version!
About the task manager, try to press on the top bar...

Despite the recent "Touch" fad, many of us have been trying to reduce our reliance on the stylus for quite a while. I'd like to use this thread to compile a list of all "finger-friendly" apps, or log requests for apps to help spur their development. Don't forget to include hints if you have to configure an app a certain way to make it finger friendly. Many of these are in development already in this forum, so I thought it a good place to host this thread...
Here's what I use/know about:
PocketCM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=320544) extremely useful for managing contacts. Active developer frequently makes updates. Good work tene!
PocketCM Keyboard (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=321712) separate app from one above just for keyboard entry. Looks promising.
cLaunch--freeware today plug-in for launching apps. Hasn't been in development for a while, but still useful and free! Many options to configure the layout as big as you want.
phoneAlarm (www.pocketmax.net)--a today plug-in to handle notifications. Active skinning community keeps the look changing all the time. With certain skins this can be finger friendly.
WM5NewMenu (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=255580) configurable menu application that does a whole lot more than just start new contacts/notes. With liberal use of the "separator" item to spread out your entries, this can be very useful. Excellent app by Saman-cz.
Total Commander--file explorer replacement. Still requires the stylus for all functions, but when the mode is set to Show > Large Icons you can navigate folders pretty well with your digits.
Slide2Unlock (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=314703) basically a device lock. Some find this annoying, but its a quality implementation by A_C.
TouchNav (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=327102&highlight=touchnav) for finger-friendly folder navigating. Looking forward to more development!
Unnamed app for quickly adding appointment or reviewing calendar (It was just a matter of time).

FreeStyl: A flash-based interface for WM5 and WM6 devices that is inspired by the iphone interface. Formerly known as whoneedsaniphone and can be found at http://www.whoneedsaniphone.com
I really find that with the Touch, I hardly ever use a stylus anymore. It really has to do with the flush screen.
This is why even if you put the ToucFLO onto a different HTC phone, you still don't get the hard and flush screen. I used the TouchFLO on a Hermes and it just wasn't the same.
mortbuttons
HButton you can map 6 apps on 1 one button
thnks
i like this, i've been trying to get a good iphone interface on my ppc for some time now, this helps! thnks alot..
SPB just re-did PocketPlus, incorporating a lot of touch-flow capabilities to explorer, PIE, contacts (I prefer PockerCM), and other apps. Costs, but looks interesting!!!!
That's right, Hbutton is a pretty powerful app, I only have Pocket Breeze on my main screen (I use WAD), cause I can launch 90% of the apps I need through the Hardware buttons.
I just installed FTouchFlo, and I like it a lot, it lets me scroll using my finger instead of the scrollbars.
Soooooo Cooool!
Please take a look and check it out for yourself. It's very nice and completed - which means IT WORKS FINE!!!
Check it out and leave the review for the rest of the ppl here...
Great product!!
I've been using it for almost 24 hours now and I'm hooked. It's FAST, stable, and works like WM5/6 should work. My only complaint is that it needs to be a little more customizable (and maybe it is and I just haven't figured it out yet.) I would love to change the color theme. The blues are great and all but I like to keep my WM6/Tilt/TyTn2 theme black/grey.
Trying it out, but dissatisfied with the way it keeps hopping back into my regular interface. Is this just supposed to be a skin, or a total OS wrapper?
It acts like a wrapper in many ways, but when you open apps & whatnot, you get your default .tsk or in my case, the last Wisbar skin applied, which isn't really very useful to me, since it looks nothing like the PointUI skin.
It's a very pretty today replacement, but it still needs work, to be sure. Improving user reconfigurability should be number one on their to-do list.

I also installed this program.I think WAD and SPB mobile shell are better.i made a you tube video on how it looks on my imate k jam.you can check it out on below link.

bell ui works fine on my xperia. i think its the same as pro not sure though
try it it has more features than this version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3013840#post3013840
Also runs as a panel. Seems to be pretty good so far (2 mins worth of play).
Thanks i'll check it out.
It's really fast and smooth. Seems like an exceptionally well thought-out UI, good solutions. One of the better I have seen for WinMo. I'd say I'll get the Pro version as soon as it is released!
point UI is an example on how software should be written. its small, fast, very optimized and highly functional. sony should have hierd these guys to write their joke (panels)
seems to have a lot of potental but what i noticed so far:
-the arabic text does not work on this (works fine everywhare else)
-there is a lot of wasted spaces on the wvga version
-some parts are not finger friendly
-looks a little too plane. tf3d looks better
-not enough customization
-email and SMSs should show more text with all the free spaces unused
I expected more from the program.
I don't like it. Don't ask me why. Just doesn't feel right...
Any way to disable the RSS feed on the home page of the UI?
Here's how to add your own city:
http://community.pointui.com/topic/cities-and-wheather
fatso485, I think the wasted space is there because they have no separate version for WVGA which utilizes the extra space - they just use the VGA code and unfortunately ignore to take advantage of the additional pixels. Perhaps in the final release? And there's applets and themes, I think they might change that
Russian language does not work at all.
they've done too much hipe...
useless panel, as said, too much wasted space and the info is not really accesible easily.
I'm back to SE panel, looks better and it's great for home screen: calendar, date, weather, connectivity buttons, launcher, agenda, tasks, missed things... all at glance in a single panel, no need to go to submenus.
program launcher is better using the startmenu>programs and for contacts, they are too small, icontact does a better job.
also, I think TouchFlo does a better job than this pointui thing... I think I was specting too much from the 2.x update T_T
does it works in landscape mode?

I read on their website that Touchflo 3D actually is a customized version of PointUI Home, and I'd say Home 2 seems to have potential that goes beyond Touchflo. Especially with the built-in support for customization and applets.

Hmm. . That seems like a lot of work to add something that most apps come populated with. I'll leave a note on their board.

iFonz 2 is King!
Yes, I do not understand people, who like better iFonz 1. Yes, it was very good, but iFonz 2 demonstrated improvement, is faster and more sensitive and also intuitive.
Thank You.
I love the bottom bar and button press animation in iFonz 1, but I like the speed, settings, and ability to have the task bar in iFonz 2. For me, if those features could colliade into one release it would be perfect. Just my opinion. Thanks for all of your work!!

Same for me. Also, i did like ifonz1 continuos pages (as i have already told you). And mostly, the ifonz1 smoothness: speed was low, it's true, but with ifonz1 i never (never) launched an app for mistake, while with ifonz2 i launch a bunch of apps sipmly swiping to change pages.
Also, i'm not sure, but seems the new iFonz is more memory hungry than the 1st: i never happened to see #1 closed by autokill (the f***king thing shuts down apps also when disabled), while ifonz2 is regularly shot down when other apps are running (and i'm on HD, with 64mb free program memory)
but
Mostly both. At once. The thing is that the real Iphone menu works and look great for a phone but not for a smartphone. The iphone emulating menus make my phone look good but feel stupid. Kinda like a dumb blonde.
Sorry man but none of them felt like the real thing and if the Iphone feel is the goal here, none is quite "there". The iphone sells because of its looks, not the functionallity. I wish that you kept the idea and changed the icons and designto something of your own. To continue comparing this to the real thing will make you loose. Take away the iphone look and add your own. Put the "functionallity" above the "look" if you get my point. I got/had an idea for a layout the first time I saw your app. I'm an educated designer and would share my idea with you if you want. use the PM for that
I like Ifonz2 better
Ifonz2 is a beautiful piece of software, and the speed is so much better than in ifonz1
Hey this Ifonz2 has come along great... Im sure a few config options will come along, but its excellent now... The thing that is best about this kind of a program, is that you're getting the best of both worlds, the iPhone look and feel, but still get to be on Windows Mobile... and better than the iPhone still between the clock, shortcuts, and notifiers (including the windows titlebar ones) on one screen and still other screens of icons for additional apps... You can't beat it... I like the power of a smartphone and the business OS behind it, but I love the eye candy too...
ifonz 1 for me
Hi, iFonz 1.1.2 is my favorite for me because
1) it's more polished (since iFonz2 is still very much an early in-progress project)
2) It's a simple interface that just works, and that's what I was searching for
3) unlike iFonz 2, it supports square screens without me having to configure anything
I tried iFonz 2 a few times but unfortunately I could never get it to fill in the whole screen of my Samsung Epix (whether I was running RealVGA at 96 or 128dpi).
There are a few bugs (the minimize animation seems to kick in and loop once in a while) in iFonz 1, but until iFonz2 works well with my phone or an alternative interface that runs well on my phone arrives, I'll be sticking with iFonz 1.1.2.
Thanks!
Came across this in my day to day surfing, looks pretty promising
http://www.larvalabs.com/product_pages/intelligent_home_screen.html
Looks pretty, but looks limiting on what it can show IMHO. Would far rather have the 7 Home screens I already have
Kind of reminds me of WinMo 6.5's new Today screen plugin, which is sorta pretty, but yes, very limiting compared to HTC's TouchFlo. I agree with JoeMax. It's pretty, but I would feel restricted. I'd much rather see MOTOBLUR make its way to HTC devices, thus bringing all the information to the today screen, while still allowing multiple home screens.
It does borrow from 6.5/Zune in its look.
Sometimes though I do crave a simpler home screen without having to swipe.
I like the simplicity behind it. Its information driven and maximizes the use of screen space to show stuff that matters (as opposed to an icon or fancy-smancy graphics ) I would definitely use this when it comes out.

They have posted info about the beta program for this app.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dHlBNm5IYzlMYkJOam4tU2gxMWNJVnc6MA
I have had a try of this in beta form a few weeks ago, the concept is nice but it is very very buggy and wasnt very speedy either..
It does have some promise though
Good for communication junkies...for everything else it sucks.
it's good for those who don't need tons of their apps on homescreen
i have it on my hero (beta10 now), and it's very nice. fast in this version, not so many bugs, simple...
for me it's great. waitng for stable release
i don't like it, because its just a list and has no real structure, besides list sorting. I hated how wm 6.5 introduced something similar, just a text list. The most ugly text list i have ever seen was on wm 6.5...
I prefer a mixture of apps shortcuts and widgets like i'm having on my HTC Hero now. And a little bit spacing does help to get a better overview imo. On this list all the information is very cluttered together, but still somehow confusing because of the small font size and the lack of information on some rows.

i agree it looks like a cheap copy of titanium witch i dont like anyway lol
I've been playing around with it now for the last week & apart from a few little problems (It doesn't update itself with notifications dynamicly such as text messages, only periodically) I really like it.
It desperately needs to have a shortcuts function to my favourite applications & also to the wireless controls but other then that I think that this is a solid alternative to the typical widgets based interface that everyone is doing at the moment.
