Live Wallpaper issue? - Nexus One General

Is anyone else facing a problem with the star field live wallpaper where you are searching through the Google widget and the keyboard disappears and the background is suddenly the default?

I wasn't able to recreate this.

Sounds like you're using a task manager and it is ending apps. Some of the live wallpapers run a separate process that needs to be excluded from autoending. If the live wallpaper process ends, it reverts you wallpaper to the default Nexus wallpaper as you noticed.
I've had to do this with Advanced Task Manager.

I've had this issue come up before. Also, I think the Starfield wallpaper was killing my battery (maybe just paranoid about the app).
I loved the app, especially after its most recent update, but I've since reverted to a "dead" wallpaper since I feel like the Live's do take up too much RAM/Battery life for what they're worth.
Although seeing people's faces when we would turn up the warp drive on starfield is fun

No task manager, but it does seem like the process is ending is there a way to lock it in memory?

Do you run a lot of Widgets? They can definitely cause other apps to close.b

Xoom - Closing live wallpapers? Is there a way?

I'm sure someone at some point in time since the launch of live wallpapers have asked this question. I wanna know how to close live wallpapers, especially since I am using my Xoom a lot. It's most annoying, I cannot seem to come up with a good solution. I've tried using task managers to close the live wallpapers but they always stay in the memory. The only way I know how to close down a live wallpaper is to replace it will a still wallpaper from the gallery. Is there a better or possibly other way to close down a live wallpaper without having to replace it with a non live wallpaper? Ideas would be most appreciated!
Surely someone might have an answer?
What are you asking? Do you want a live wallpaper, but have it stuck in a static position?
The live wallpapers can't be paused or whatever, you either have to choose live or static wallpapers.
Like you said, if you want to "close" the live wallpaper, just replace it with a normal one and it won't drain your battery anymore...
I thought maybe the live wallpaper would apply over the existing static wallpaper I had set just like a filter, instead of replacing it totally just so I wouldn't have to reset my static wallpaper. But I guess a wallpaper is the same... live or not.

umm no... the live wallpaper isn't going to keep running in the background if you replace it with another wallpaper. It doesn't layar your wallpapers when you change them. Its either live or it isn't...
I knew that but needed to make sure. Thanks. I only asked because the live wallpapers run like an app because it appears in task killers unlike a normal wallpaper, but that's because it's not still but animated.

Subscribing. I wanted also to change the black bg..
I wanted that too. But i also encountered something strange about it. I recently installed a beautiful live wallpaper ported over from Sense. As it's not uncommon, the framerate of the homescreen in general, lowered. But what was the strange thing about it: the framerate of the app drawer (which has a completely black, still background) has also been decreased, which normally shouldn't happen, as the homescreen background vanishes when the app drawer is open (so normally the phone hasn't to calculate anything except for scrolling and opening/closing animation.)

Help! Live Wallpaper Picker cannot be launched - stock ROM

After a reboot I could no longer select any live wallpaper anymore all of a sudden. I have tried clearing cache and removing all data associated with the Live Wallpaper Picker but nothing has worked! Every time I am getting "Unfortunately the Live Wallpaper picker has stopped" when picking a previously installed live paper. This is VERY frustrating. I am running stock ROM rooted and have re-enabled all previously disabled apps and have unstalled greenify as well just in case. Have rebooted a few times and has not worked.
What I could remember doing was trying to clear all icons from the stock Touchwiz launcher as I am trialling other launchers. Would I have accidentally deleted some vital shortcuts? Removing the shortcuts does not remove the apps themselves, however.
I'm at a lost at what to do and really would prefer having to do a hard reset if possible. It has taken me 2 weeks to set up my Note 3 almost perfectly .....
UPDATE: I just found that I could still load Live Wallpapers IF I return back to touchwiz and set wallpaper via the menu (left) button. However I am still unable to set Live Wallpapers normally via the settings menu - the picker always crashes....
Any advice would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

you could try this go to google play download any live wallpaper ,when downloaded press open and see what happens
tried already. The wallpaper picker will crash just like before. The only way is to get back to Touchwiz interface and use the menu button to set wallpaper. That way I can still select the custom wallpaper. This only occurred AFTER I went to Touchwiz and cleared up all the useless icons from the apps....I must have stuffed up something in TW...

there are some wallpaper picker apk on here do a search see if you can find one for n3
I am too scared to replace the stock apk if its still working via touchwiz. At least it still works. I have probably broken something when i deleted off all the shortcuts in the TW desktop.

This happened to me when I had too many live wallpapers installed, it couldn't load the list. (about 30). Don't suppose that could be it?

Did you ever get a solution to the live wallpaper crashing problem? I have the same exact problem.

I get this as well, in Nova, LWP crashes. If I load Touchwiz Home, it works fine. Kind of irritating to swap launchers just to change the LWP settings.

Thanks for posting this, hadn't thought to try setting the live wallpaper from tw home. I had touchwiz home frozen with TB. Unfroze it, set the live wallpaper from tw home, and live wallpaper is back in Nova. It wasn't enough to merely unfreeze tw home, I had to set the live wallpaper from there too.

I have touchwiz running, simple and easy and I swapped between them, but the live wallpaper still crashes. Even after putting the .apk in the system/app folder and changing the permissions, etc. I'm running Sacs rom on an S4.
Unfortunately Live Wallpaper Picker has stopped - Fix
1. Backup and Uninstall the system
[Live Wallaper Picker]
{livewallpaperspicker.apk}
ONLY (NOT livewallpapers.apk) with [Lucky Patcher](you need to enable system files in Lucky Patcher) or some other App like that (you don't need to uninstall any already installed live wallpapers).
2. Download many livewallpaperspicker.apk you can find all over the internet for different Android versions(doesn't matter even if the version is not specified, download anything you can). (btw, I am using a LiveWallpapersPicker.apk by cycloneblast which I found in another thread. I've no idea what version it targets)
3. Install the livewallpaperspicker.apk for the Android version you are running.
4. If it still says unfortunately live wallpaper picker... then Install other versions and test them(you don't need to restart your device).
5. If still not working, then remove odex file of the Live Wallpaper Picker with Lucky Patcher and then repeat steps 3 and 4.
6. If STILL not working then remove corpses with [SD Maid](you need to enable system files in it's settings first which is usually turned off when you install it). WARNING: Use at your own RISK.
Hi. I have outlined the fix for this in my video on youtube here: youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=7DlTBr8r2Ws

Dim wallpaper overlay.

Hey guys, idk if you can spot the difference but, whenever I set a wallpaper, it gets dimmed down like an overlay or a filter is applied, this irritates me.
Tried using 3rd party LWP apps, problem solved but the battery consumption is a problem :|
Hope you can help me
Is it Nova Launcher? I remember that there was an option to enable shadow on the top of the screen for bright wallpapers...

It's Google Now launcher, but the problem is that this overlay appears on every launcher I've tried, even the stock EMUI one.

Lockscreen background...

Hi,
so kind of a 2 point topic.
First is more of an inconvenience. As you know you can set the lockscreen wallpaper from the stock launcher. But if you happen to use another launcher (like probably many of us), there is no way to access that setting.
Second point, don't know if it has to do with the first, within the background settings there is an option to get "Shot on Oneplus 5" images changed daily as your background. I activated this setting, but it doesn't work, the background never changes.
Question is, is this a bug? Or does it not work because I run Nova Launcher instead of the stock one?
Has someone seen this feature in action?

On the first point, also found it a bit confusing, at the end I went through Google Photos gallery and did set the wallpaper that way (for both lock- and home-screens).
