hi..
I have a rooted CDMA Hero running MoDaco 1.3
my PRL is 60657
But i have read that 60659 is out.
I have read in some threads that some individuals have seen a huge increase in battery life.. with the new PRL.
so... can a rooted phone.. upgrade PRL directly from Sprint, over the air?? Will it do anything to our ROOTED phones?
thanks
It updates just fine on rooted phones

Hi,
I was vacationing in Australia and decided to buy a Wildfire from Telstra. My main reason was the 850/2100 WCDMA. I live in Canada and travel a lot to Europe. I got the phone unlocked but not rooted (I can live with it being unrooted).
I read that most European carriers have released Froyo ROMs. I tried to see if an upgrade was available for mine but I can't seem to find anything.
I suppose that I could be safe and wait for Telstra to release the update (anyone knows when?) or I could root it and put a generic 2.2 rom on it? Would this generic ROM work on my device given that it's 850/2100 and not 900/2100?
Thanks a lot and sorry if I'm a little confused! This is my very first Android device!
PS I don't really care if the Froyo cannot be rooted.

Hello,
I also bought a Telstra Wildfire only about a week ago. I installed SUnAaBh 2.2.1 ROM on there, it works fine. Waiting for Telstra's branded and bloated 2.2 update will DEFINITELY have the new, unrootable HBOOT!
EDIT: Telstra makes these phones Quad-band and ensures worldwide capability, and flashing a custom ROM will not mess with the radio.
I have installed this stock ROM on my wifes Telstra Wildfire:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...5.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_160191_signed.exe
It works well and is stable and free of bloat that you find on carrriers ROMS.
yup, i'm with telstra running wildpuzzle v.08 rom, kicks arse over what stock froyo is
I received an Aria as part of the migration from Alltel to ATT. Phone service will not be activated until sometime in April. Everything here is CDMA, not GSM.
The paperwork that ATT sent said to leave the phone off until I get the activation notice.
Well, I was anxious to play with it so I pulled the SIM, thinking that it would still function for everything except phone, and it seems to do fine. My thinking is that without a SIM, the phone won't be searching for service that doesn't exist, but I can still use apps dowloaded via Wifi. So far, so good.
I have been researching rooting and updating to Froyo.
Is this adviseable, or is it even possible, for a device not using a SIM?
If I am able to root then install Froyo, will something horrible happen to my Aria when April comes and I install the SIM?
Thanks in advance from an Android/SIM newb.
no, go ahead and root it,
i will suggest liberated fr0008 ROM..
you should be fine if you root and install a custom rom.
just make sure that you don't get the stock 2.2 update from htc or at&t, because that will upgrade your phone and as of now, there isn't an exploit to root from stock 2.2.
Hi. I have an i9505 running stock firmware (I9505XXUEMKF) which is rooted using the cf-auto root method. I am on Three Ireland's network and they recently released their LTE network. Now on my phone, I dont have the option for LTE. I talked to Three customer service and they said an update has been rolled out, but according to Kies, I already have the latest update. Any ideas on how to get LTE 4G working on my phone?
Cheers for any help!
Yeah look 2 inches below your new thread.
We have terrible sprint coverage in our area and I'm hoping to increase coverage through updated radios.
I rooted with ZVG and should have all the ZVG radio/modem/baseband versions.
Currently my baseband says it's version: MPSS.DI.2.0.c2-00081-M8974AAAAANAZM-1
I saw a Sprint G2 Rom that claims to use the ZVH modem and that got me thinking.
Is there any way to update the radios to ZVH without returning to stock then accepting ZVH OTA?
I'm on zvi and my baseband is exactly the same as yours.
zvh can be rooted easily with oneclick root(zvi can't tho). why not just update and see?
Separately messing around with radios is a bad idea and it's very unlikely it will help anyway. Update profile and prl and cross your fingers hoping that sprint will upgrade their towers in your area.
ok well here i go not sure if this is the right place to ask but wasnt sure

Any of the aosp based roms like cm are garbage on the g2. Why give up performance, stability, battery life, and your camera for a few extra settings and a bad skin?
While some of the stock based custom roms are ok, they are mainly for the gsm version so rooted stock for the sprint version is best imo. You should tot back to zve using THIS GUIDE, ota update to zvg, root with ONECLICK ROOT, and SIM UNLOCK so you can use it abroad. Don't update past zvg to zvh or zvi because you might lose sim unlock which zvh and zvi can't be rooted yet. Check out the g2 sprint developement section HERE.
Fyi, it's 'dire straits'.
