Fix for 8125 and TILT, may also work on HERMES
This is one of the most frustrating things about Windows Mobile. I had the same problem with my 8125, and it just started on my 2 mo. old Tilt. Even though you have a Hermes, this solution may work because it is a WINDOWS MOBILE problem.
I've done major amounts of research on this subject and many people will tell you you need Memmaid (have it), or SKTools to fix this. Neither worked for me on either phone (except Memmaid is great, you should get it). There are also many other tweaker tricks as well, none of which worked for me. Some even suggest a HARD RESET. Don't do it, it isn't needed.
Here's what worked for me.
On the 8125: pull the battery out while powered on. Put the battery back in, and reset the clock. (the battery trick didn't work on the TILT)
On the Tilt: change the clock to visiting time, and accept changes. Change the clock back to home time and accept changes.
After looking at these solutions I think the clock fix would have done the same thing on my 8125.
I can't take credit for either discovery, however, I can't remember where I read them.
I hope this works for you and the others that experience this most frustrating issue.
Calendar reminders not working on HTC Tytn II (Tilt) + WM6.1
Hi,
I had recently updated my HTC Tytn II (Kaiser/Tilt) from Windows Mobile 6 to Windows Mobile 6.1.
It took me a little while to notice that my calendar reminders were not working. My "Task" reminders were working fine.
I did the suggested fix - which was to change the timezone to "Visiting" and back to "Home" - and now I have my calendar reminders working again. Thanks for the suggestion hksuper!
Prembo.
It works on Polaris too. Thanks you guys so much
Thanks
Thanks hksuper .... I just chaged the clock from home to visiting and then back to home and it worked ,,,, Thanks for sharing this info.
Hi,
I'm glad others are finding this tidbit of info useful.
What bothers me is that the solution is only temporary. It seems like it only lasts for a day and then you have to do the time change trick, which you forget to do. I would set a reminder to remind me to change the time zone, but it wouldn't go off to remind me.
I guess my solution is only a half a solution until someone figures out how to make reminders work permanently on Windows Mobile.
IN other news....I have an iPod Touch, sync'd to my Exchange Server, and it NEVER FAILS TO DING WHEN I HAVE A REMINDER SET. Unfortunately, the reminders don't have as many nice options (like snooze, which I find invaluable). So Apple at least gets points for making it work right. Got that MS?
Cheers!
As an interim solution for you hksuper, why don't you set the reminders on your iPod Touch to tell you when you need to reset the clock....
Seriously though I hope we can come up with a solution to an annoying problem... Come on MS, apples ahead of the game, time for you to get there too....
That is a really good thing to know.
Today I experienced the same problem on my Touch Pro 2, with Windows Mobile 6.5. After doing the clock trick, it is working again.
Hope I don't have to do this daily or else I just throw out this f*cking expensive device
I had this issue in Win 5 when I got my m3100.
I have never had the problem in 6.0 pro though and I use the calendar everyday.
Weird
Solution for calendar reminder problem.
Google "The poorhouse pmClean cab." Download the pmClean cab, perform a clean, and do a soft reset. I'm currently on the NRG Phoenix 2 6.5 ROM on my HTC Fuze and it worked remarkably well.

a BIG Thank you, after 4 years, the same fault is still happening.
my device is HTC Touch HD.
Works on XPERIA X1. Thanks.
The fix also works on my HTC HD2 T9193.
I had this problem a long time ago on win mo 5.0. I'm surprised to see the same problem is still with us.

thread in HTC Diamond subforum.
Tried this one on my Xperia and well,
when i get incoming call and press answer key, it starts transmitting my voice faster then original Xperia phone program,
but it has no feature to fast search for contacts by typing numbers in.
And it freezes my phone, when i have Phonex open (when i search for contacts or other) and i try to call someone, the call goes through, but instantly freezes my phone, so i have to take battery out.
Problem might be that i haven't uninstalled the original phone program, but i don't know how to do that.
I started to wonder, what program is the FASTEST for answering incomming calls ? Any ideas?
Btw, i'm new in this forum, so HEY!
I have Xperia and i want to get the most out of it.
I had HTC Diamond but didn't like it, so i returned it after 6 days of using it.

I have a french Xperia with an english version of PhonEx & when I click on the left button to open the dialler, PhoneEx appears but locked, I have next to click on the closing cross at the upper right to clsoe the PhoneEx Dialer !
& when it starts the first time to be loaded in memory, I have a crappy screen
Who has also these issues, otherwise, it is a really beautifull application, if soemone has a workaround for my issues, I will buy a license I think.... I already reported these issues to IconSoft
I have the same problem

Ouf, I fill more confident to know that I am not the only one guy having this issue
By the way, I hope that IconSoft will fix quickly these two bugs & that you have also reported this issue. More they will receive feedbacks on this issue, more they will be able to classify the urgency level of fixing it. For sure, if they fix these two issues, I feel this product as the next winner apps on WinMo....
I also have the same problem with my HTC Touch Pro (Rapheal) with Phonex 1.2 when pressing the phone button. Got it to work temporarily but turning on inesofts dialer then OFF then going back into phonex settings and saving, but its speractic. still hangs.. Great new features in 1.2 but this hanging issue is getting on my nerves.. They just need to work on these two issue ALONE and not try to add more features and release a rev with these fixes.
I am using it for a long time and very impressed of quick and smooth work, very useful application!
In my experience, the Touch HD Blackstone Dialer (here is a lot faster than the Xperia dialer although you have to slide to answer.
Haven't tried any other dialers.
FYI: I had decided to hard reset to see if Phonex 1.2 would exhibit the same behavior, it did not. THen I restored from sprite backup and began uninstalling apps and or disabling them, Today I discovered after disabling memaid (DinarSoft) service / auto start that implimented its speed enhancements for memory on reboot low and behold PhoneX 1.2 Did NOT Hang any more..
I have not tried rebooting again to be sure it stayed stable, but thought I'd mention it..
Also I UNinstalled Mortscript and related scripts I had running.
Would be interesting to see those of you who do have the problem were running these or similar applications and if disabling them resolved the problem.
Good Luck..
High CPU usage
HI,
I have another problem with the 1.2 release on my Xperia. After installing 1.2 my battery drains much faster. After a look in MemMaid I see that PhonEx.exe is between 3,5-9% CPU usage 90% of the times I check.
I have talked to Iconsoft and the are aware of the problem om some devices and it will be fixed in next release.
Next release (1.3) is scheduled for release within 1-2 weeks which is good news. They also mentioned that some new features will be implemented, like "Slide to unlock" in the caller ID screen, jippi
id agree with xperian above , the hd dialler is a better alternative.
as is the yota dialler (which unfortunately doesnt have slide to answer)
i tried this app and didnt like it, i also dont like their cheap and nasty attempt at marketing by encouraging users to spam forums
Hi,
Just thought I'd start a post to see what people think of this interface. Personally I love the stock TF3D for the diamond and have just added nocurtains and backgroundallpages to it and I cant wait to get the TF3D from Diamond2 onto my phone, but Im always trying out new interfaces to improve usability - I still hate going into windows mobile contacts, messaging, etc.
From testing it seems to have no bugs that I can recall so far (tested of HTC Diamond running Duttys latest version - btw, thanks to dutty: having been using your ROMs for a long time and have always been happy ). Overall customisation seems a lot easier than for TF3D and new 'applets' are being pumped out all the time. You can even 'flick' through all messages with a preview for all inboxs without getting into the windows mobile interface, although you have to enter it to read the full email or to reply/forward. Im sure that improvements will get rid of this in the future though.
Anyways Im adding it on here because Im sure some people will like it and you dont get developers better than those on XDA so maybe we can make it into something really usable?
The only things keeping me on TF3D at the moment are the lack of multiple cities in weather forcasting, lack of music playback from the home screen (no music app currently available) and perhaps a home screen applet that is a little fiddly.
Nevertheless the experience is very slick - no pauses or 'stuttering' in transitions. I will keep testing but let me know about your experiences .

I know there is also one in the Xperia forum...
Bug reporting is done in a thread over at the PointUI forums.
SMS works fine for me on Home2.
Looked interesting, but whenever I hit "home" on my diamond it went to a black, blank home screen. Also no built in media player applet yet. I usually listen to music for about 30-45 mins in the morning, and I don't want to fiddle with the classic media player.

I am aware that pointui development forums are everywhere right now, but thought it would be nice to see what diamond users think - i still think that after diamond2, the interface and usability of diamonds/touchpros is probably the best around for windows mobile.

Yea I know the lack of music is a bit annoying, but I think an applet for it is in development, and considering the throughput of these things at the moment I dont think it will be long before one is released .
Did you disable TF3D and enable Pointui from settings? Also is you TF3D the stock one or is it another one (e.g. Pro version)?
has anyone experienced crashes with it? it worked fine when I first installed on my diamond, now when I open, or soft reset and it loads, I get the RSS hub thing, but it stops spinning, and just crashes, and phone requires soft reset.
HELP!
I only receive SMS only when the screen is lighted. If my HD is on standby the whole day, I wouldnt receive a single SMS. THis is irritating. Whenever I ON my screen, I would receive a couple of msgs at one go, all timed hours ago. Its really irritating!!!
Anyone experience the same issue???

Nope, non of the above... have been using HD for a month plus.. still not receiving sms when on STANDBY with screen OFF... sigh.. I on my screen every couple of mins to ensure im not missing a reply to someone's sms... ugghhh!
Is this when your in vibrate mode or normal? For vibrate to work I found you have to enable it in the sound settings. This is not normally needed but for some reason you have to on our devices :S
My Touch HD is back in its box precisely because SMS (text) messages did not alert me to their arrival when the HD was in standby.
I tried all the suggestions made by other posters, including hard reset, but none worked reliably. Reading some of the posts reveals that this bug has existed since the Diamond came out but HTC is in no hurry to fix it.
I can't tell whether any of the 'ROMs' that others produce will cure this problem and am left with an expensive paperweight.
For the time being, I am back using my Treo 680, which has no problems with SMS. Sadly, I shall have to abandon it eventually because Palm does not intend to produce 64bit drivers to enable synchronization. Ah, well, nothing's perfect!

OMG! thats sad! but seriously Im feeling the same.. sometimes when i go out, i switch to a cheap basic spare fone (LG KP110). its sms is way more reliable.. I bought the HD at SG$1250 and yet I cant receive SMSs.. sighz.. tot of selling it away.. but not.. but yes.. maybe not.. sighz...
same here
I have the same issue. Randomly SMS sound does not play until i turn on the screen. I m using stock 1.56 UK Rom. I have a friend at the office with same phone and he is facing the same problem.
All settings are correct. It's obvious because lot of times i get the sound notification while in standby mode....
Don't know what to do.....cheapest phones do this right...
That is so true! i totally agree.. Sometimes it goes back to basic.. the HD gets too complicated that it doesnt even know how to notify its owner of an incoming sms.. this sucks big time.. till this very day I haf to on and off my screen every 10mins to ensure i dun miss a single sms..
If you use HD Tweak, there is an option to set the HD to wake up and notify you when it receives an SMS...
is there a way i can receive an sms with a sound notification instead of the whole phone waking up with screen lit?
is there a way to shorten the vibration when an SMS comes in? the HD vibrates quite long and strong for a single SMS. Just curious. Might help abit in saving battery's life.
Hi, I had this problem after I installed the WWE 1.14 for Middle East, especially after installing the official Arabic Lang. update from HTC !!! When I wake up the Phone from the stanby mode I Receive all the incoming messages at once and the Phone plays the SMS alert !
After Hard resetting the phone and installing a new ROM (1.19 WWE for Hong Kong) the problem didnt go till I went to Settings---> Sounds and Notifications-----> new SMS----> Disable Alert, Vibrator, Falshing Light !!! Basically disable everything and press OK to return to the touch FLO home.
After that, Go again and enable the SMS notification with or without Vibration as you like and it will work !!!
Now, I discovered that any programm that is not made buy a software house, I mean programms made by home developers prematurely screw your system especially programms that interfere with the Windows Shell and System processes and Alerts !!!
My advice is Install a fresh new WWE rom (1.19), if the alert didnt work, Go disable the Alert, press ok, return to home screen, then go back and enable it and it will work !! it seems that there are some things that does not change in the phone settings even if you hard reset or install a new ROM !!!!
For 1.19 WWE and some other Roms, Dont close SMS application directly after sending a message, just press the Home button to return back ! the SMS application interface will stay in the bakground and wont take more than 1% from your free memory ! I noticed even on my current 1.19 rom is if I send an SMS and diredcly Click the X to close the application after sending the message it will cause the phone not to receive next sms untill I open the SMS application !!! Any how, you can close it after a minute if it bothers you to keep it in the background.
I hope this helps !!! I used Duttys 1.17 and faced the 'Coruppted Ringtone problem', that the phone wont ring and switch to a default ring that is not loud and made me miss calls, only soft reset solved it but it came back every 2 weeks !!! no body could solve it even Dutty dont know what is the problem !!!
At the end it is a phone !!! should call, Ring, Send and Receive calls perfectly !! Any Small Samsung or Nokia or SonyEricsson phone worth 100 $ could do the job perfectly while we pay 800 $ for this HD and it cant ring o receive SMS !!!
Therfore, my advice is to use Stock Rom and dont install any programm that is made at home !!! or any other programm that interere with the system process and alerts or Language !!! Do not play with memory management or registry settings !!!
To customize my phone I installed SPB shell and its wonderfull and better than Touch flo except for the Music Player as you will have to use Window Media !!!
Goo Luck
Another tip,
Go to the registry using registry editor and change si follows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL
Locate DisableSMSWakeUpEvent entry, and change its value to 0 (the value is 1 by default).
Hope this helps
I suggest that you change your rom

I support this view. Don't be disheartened as probs like this rarely have anything to do with hardware and are generally software bugs which are cured by just updating to official / custom ROM. (this is the best and yet worst part of thing called Micro$oft )
Please read pros and cons of flashing roms well before trying anyhing !
Hi!
It occurs to me that we can talk as much as we want about the problems we find, but unless someone submits them to HTC it's very unlikely that we'll see them fixed at some point.
Therefore, this thread is an attempt to collect all the problems that have actually been submitted to HTC. So, if you have submitted any defect through HTC's support site, please post it here too, possibly with the text of the reply you received from HTC. I'll do my best to keep the list updated at all times in the first post.
Thank you!

Problems submitted:
- Reccuring appointments saved with HTC Callender (e.g. in 15 Dec.) are saved in January (15th of January), rather on their correct date. Response: they'll look into it
- I can hear my interlocutor prior to answering his call. Response: it's because of my operator, according to them...
- The pop-up menu doesn't show on the phone number fields (except for the Mobile phone, which is the only one): so you can't copy/paste the Home/Work etc numbers, when editing a contact, in HTC People. Response: none given (yet)
- HTC People doesn't show all the information saved, regarding a contact (not even Company name). Response: it's how it is designed
Problem submitted:
The LED notification for new email doesn't work at all. Looking at various forums, it seems this doesn't work on *anyone's* HD2.
HTC response (verbatim):
"I just finish to test this case and it's definitely working!
A green LED is flashing every two seconds on the left corner of the earpiece, at the top of my device. Unfortunately we are not aware of any issues with the LED email notification as this is not being reported on our Call Center and E-mail records. You are the only person to contact the European Support Center in the last 3 month with the case this single case."
So . . . until they start hearing more about these problems, they ain't doing nothing.
Has anyone submitted the following problems to HTC?
SMS browsing slow
Stock and Weather not updating through Wi-Fi
Facebook updated at random intervals
Continuous switching between 3G and HSDPA
They've been discussed in several threads here, but not sure whether HTC is aware of them...

COMPLAIN TO HTC!
http://www.htc.com/www/CS_Mail.aspx
This is the only way we get these stupid bugs fixed. I'm quite sure the exact same problem was already present in the touch diamond!!!
And there are several more of them
Ok...
I don't know if you've realized it by now, but it is impossile to open up the context menu (pop-up menu) on the phone number fields (except for Mobile phone, which works fine).
I've contacted HTC for this. Their first response: they've asked me wether I can edit the contact in another app, such as Outlook.
Now really, why even bother creating HTC People and all the HTC Suite, if once a happy customer (like me), offers feedback and reports bugs, and the response he gets is "Why don't you use Outlook?"
I've recently complained about:
- Pictures using the flash are massively over-exposed.
- When playing an .mp4 video clip the sound is often out of synch with the picture (even though the same video plays perfectly on my TP2).
I also asked if there's a way to stop the phone coming out of stand-by when an SMS message arrives, as I can't find one - though I'm not 100% certain that's actually an in-built bug, it could be a problem with one of the apps I've installed.
I just opened the following ones:
Different albums with the same title ("Greatest Hits", for example) show as one in the landscape album view (the one you use to flick through your album collection), with no album art. When you click on it, all the songs from all the albums with the same title appear on a list, each with its own album art.
Contacts relative to a company - with no first name or last name - appear as "Unnamed" in the People shortcut view.
Still waiting for acknowledge from HTC.
I've just complained at faulty alarm and messages being stuck, plus highlighted few other problems.
damn... I bloody hope their release some patches/rom soon, as it is getting even more ridiculous than with previous devices (i.e. tytn 2 - gfx drivers screwed, but basic functionality acceptable).
I've complained about the video drivers and general poor quality of video playback in HTC Album with mp4 files played perfectly by the iPhone. I was told that there's nothing they can do and that I should try my luck with a separate media player with more codec support! Not really surprised considering the well-known HTC - Qualcomm debate on drivers cost...
