Vibration Stuck Issue - Luckily Vibration Motor not Burnt - HD2 General
has anyone experienced the problem of vibration not turning off when receiving email? my hd2 vibrated for like i dont know, at least almost 10minutes one night when i was sleeping and i was woken up by the sound of the vibration. thank God the vibration motor was not burnt due to overuse or overheat.
i had a windows mobile 5 htc made smartphone and the vibration motor almost got damaged once because the entire device got stuck and hang in one occasion when a call was received and i was out. the phone was charging and i think the vibration went on and on more God knows how long. when i got back, the motor was extremely weak, and i think permenantly damaged.
and i dont like the fact that in every windows mobile phone (or just htc phones) the vibration does not pulse, and is constantly on until the ringtone is finished playing. this is really dumb. has been like this since windows mobile 5. i've owned 4 htc made windows phone now and even the latest and greatest HD2 has not improved in this matter.

I would also like pulationg vibration.......while this way it will be more effective.. and saving some battery on teh other hand . then continously vibrating ..
may be someone can do it with some hack....

Add me to the list, mine got stuck from the text message alert, i thought it was just me! Although, i thought it might of been because the alert tone was too long (approx 10 seconds), i changed the alert tone to a shorter one and so far it seems to of stopped the problem.
I have the same issue, do we think this is ROM related or not?
I have this problem once only. It happened when I use Custom ROM. Running back the stock ROM, problem does not occur.

i've had it twice now, first with official ROM, second, just 2 days ago, with custom ROM. and it all happened in the middle of night, 3-5am! darn phone woke me up with a scare! i thought i was the only one.

I had the same problem once, I have received an SMS during looking on weather and changing to view the home screen - it got stucked totally, I had to softreset the phone putting out the battery.
looks like we are not alone.. i hope more owners will take notice of this issue so we can collectively complain to htc. it's getting on my nerves waking me up in the middle of the night!
this morning with the alarm it vibrated non stop instead of with a few pauses, and it kept on vibrating untill I stopped the alarm..

For alarms, I use SPB Time 3.2 anyway... I love how they have a Bioalarm (Chirping birds, but relatively silent and ascending volume) and also how you can shake to snooze (which works really well and does not involve a serious shaking)
It happens for me too, but only when receiving text messages - it just keps buzzing
My "solution" in "Normal Mode" was to have only sound (I turned of vibration) when receiving text messages.
When on "Vibration Mode" this does not happen
I've had this happen on 3 different HTC phones:
Touch Diamond
Xperia X1
and now HD2
It must be some kind of issue between WM and HTC hardware... because I can't imagine all the different ROMs I've flashed on all three devices had this bug...
I just turn off vibration for txt and email. Wish this could be fixed.
i had this problem today. my text came in at 12am and i only manage to get awake by the vibrate noise at 4am to stop it! my text tone is 6sec . 4 hour of vibrating. luckily the vibrate still working. Gosh

Seriously, this is the first time it has done that not sure why. I just flashed this rom(Dutty's) about 3-4 days ago. Let us know if anyone finds a solution and why it does it.

WOW, is it time-based ? I read this last night and the stuck vibration happened to my unit this morning on an email notification! (TMOUS stock)
I haven't really had a stuck problem with my Tmo US version with stock e-mail ringtone. One of my gripes with this phone though is how weak the vibrator is. When I have it in my pocket, I can barely feel a thing unless I am sitting down? Maybe my pants are too loose/baggy? I wouldn't want to have to wear skinny jeans just for the phone though.
I used to have the Tmo MyTouch3g and the vibrator on that phone was perfect. It had pulse vibrate AND it was strong enough for me to feel in my pocket.
using sat nav last week got to my destination recieved an e-mail and then heard a strange noise thought it was my car turned off engine still had noise, touched the roof and it was vibrating, it was the phone had to reset to stop it, it has strongest vibration of any phone i've oned.

hey, i thought its only happening to me..looks like so many people experiencing this problem.. the phone vibrates around 6AM when i was asleep.. donno what cause it,no incoming call, no SMS, no incoming mail, no nothing.. plus, i always end every task on the phone before went to bed..anywant found the soluton for it? please help..

Clicking Noise From Vibration Motor - Anyone Else Notice This?
I noticed that upon the vibration being triggered on really short spurts (for example when typing) that occasionally a clicking noise is generated. This isn't from the speaker, it's definately a mechanical noise. For reference, My EVO is less then 24 hours old. Anyone else experience this? Thanks
I haven't heard any clicking and I've had mine for a week. I just tested it with typing and I don't hear any mechanical noise. Perhaps yours is defective? The vibration on this phone is 100% more refined than the Hero's (in my opinion, lol). I turned off haptic feedback everywhere on my Hero because it was obnoxious and obtrusive. The haptic on the Evo seems smooth and intuitive. I prefer to use it on anything with the option.
I had it on a replacement vogue I got, it went away after awhile. Take it into sprint and see if you can replace it.
My Nexus One use to do that. Did it from day one I had it since release date and still works fine.
I happened to notice this today myself but the noise eventually went away. I hope it doesn't become a big issue.
Yeah, I don't think it's necessarily a defect. Just when it gets triggered for such a short time-span that sometimes happens. Not that first phone I've noticed it on.

Click to collapse I was watching a podcast of the 404(cnet) and one of the hosts had something go wrong with his vibration on his evo....?? He said it will still vibrate like when calls came in, but for like the haptic feedback it didn't work.(yes he menitoned he had checked all the settings that were relative) Dunno if this means anything to you but it could be more than a fluke problem. You never know...

Click to collapse After about two and a half weeks of ownership I started getting the click. It happens when the vibration is very short, maybe less than 1 second. It isn't really obnoxious to me, but it is enough of a click that I notice it now.

Curious, how loud? Would the key tone, god forbid that even be on, cover it up? Medium volume? (Is that loud??? I don't use the key tones ... )
Mine does the same thing. Clicks every other input. At the home screen I can press the back button over and over and every other time is clicks.. doesn't sound healthy. Its getting annoying when texting because every other letter feels differnt making some letters feel like there is no vibration....
THe more it does it, it's starting to feel like a rattle, like something is loose....
I used to have that w/ my first evo. Then i bought a second off the market and it didnt have the vibration problem. so i returned the first...
I have this issue, will sprint do an exchange because of this? I can replicateit by holding the backspace key on swype, its a loud annoying clicking Edit: I upgraded to the new swype and thenoise is gone

yup, mine will occasionally do it too. It almost sounds like there is slack in there and whenever it starts up it slaps against something. Mine doesn't seem to be getting worse so I'm not to worried about it but I definitely notice it when it does happen.

No ringtone problem
Hi guys, I have this problem from some time now and it is getting worse and worse... 1st it was on one contact only - the phone sometimes rings and vibrates and sometimes only vibrate. Than it started to happen randomly across all of my contacts and I'm missing a lot of calls now. It seems like its totally random. The same person rings me twice and 1st time it rings and vibrates and right after that it only vibrates or the other way around. Any1 know anything about such problem? thanks in advance!
there is a patch for it, but it causes other problems in sense. My GF doesn't use sense but SPB Mobile Shell, so for her this is no problem. the patch can be found in this forum as HTC took it offline http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=639992&page=2
Vibrate changes to Ring after end call
A very strange and random thing has started to happen to my Nexus S - I like to keep my phone on vibrate / no ring but about a week ago, everytime I make a call and hang up or a call comes in and ends, the profile will automatically switch from vibrate to ring. This has been very annoying as it has caused my phone to ring at a meeting for example and at night when I'm sleeping. Has anyone had this problem? I haven't loaded any new programs that might affect ringtone...the only thing I have that controls ringtone in any form would be widgetlocker and TouchPal dialer - I've tried default dialer and it does the same thing as well. Might be something obvious so if anyone knows, please inform me. Much appreciated!
im experincing the same thing on HTC Desire CDMA as well......it annoying as hell....i work for a funeral home and cant really have my phone to ring
The culprit is... Touchpal. I have it as well, and I have this same problem. Checking reviews since the last update, which just so happened to be when this problem started, a lot of people are mentioning it.

Love this phone only issue 'ive had is my speakers stop working. i always had my phone on vibrate because of school but then one day i switch it back to ring and it never did. every once in awhile some noise did come out but nothing has happened i;ve opened it up but couldn't see what was wring any ideas

Can't pick up calls lately
Hi I'm not sure why I'm experiencing this lately but I use my LG G2 phone normally (surfing and listening to music...etc) but whenever I get a call and I try to swipe to pick the call, I found no response at all. As if I'm NOT doing any swipe at all and I end up missing the call. This happened many times losing calls for just not having a non-working touch screen whenever I get a call. This is driving me mad and I feel like I went totally wrong getting an LG instead of any other famous brand name like Samsung or HTC. Any ideas are very well appreciated as I'm not quite ready financially to dump this phone yet!

Click to collapse This might be a stupid question, but do you have this problem when you are already using the phone? When you are using the phone already you don't swipe the screen, but you just press the answer button.
Lately I have the same problem. The phone and the touch screen is working correctly in every other situation. The problem is only when I try to pickup the phone after around the 2nd ringtone. At that point the screen freeze. The buttons are still working, I can turn the screen on / off with the power button and mute the ringtone with the volume. Anyone had resolved this issue?
