I tried google.com but nothing.
Could you help me again?
Best regards
Use your File manager on your PPC and navigate to /windows/simupload.exe
-Consider a good idea create a shortcut to this file into your /windows/start menu/programs/
(tap and hold on the file and select Copy, then Paste shortcut).
-You can hold the navigation button and hold with stylus onto the clock, you will receive the Run menu, then write in SIMUPLOAD.
!!
It works. yupiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Install / run from storage card

I have an app created with pocketpccreations applications. This contains the
exe file, custom points(DLL's) and my own forms. I need to be able to send a
client a storage card with all the data on it.
When the card is installed the client has to find the exe file and create a
short cut to it within the programs folder. Is there a way to automates
this. EG when the card is put into the pocket pc automatically add a
shortcut to the exe file. Alternatively is there a method to copy all the
files to the internal memory and create a short cut to the exe file.
Any help or links appreciated.
Cheers
SteveW
Not my field really but if you make a directory named 2577 on the card the system looks in there for files to execute when card is inserted, as far as I know.
Take a look here for more details.

Got it working. Another question
Is there the equivalent of writing bat files. I need to run a bat file to add the program to the start up menu.
Any help appreciated.
e-Pocketsetup2003
google it - creates an installer OR you can create a cab file to do what you want
I have taken a look at both of these links but still can't seem to make sense of any of it. Okay I admit it maybe because of me, but I am looking for simialr info. I have Tom Tom5 & want to load it onto an SD card so that when I send it to whoever it will upload & install automatically onto the device. I know this can be done but the real question is HOW? Any help would be greatly appreciated but please keep it as simple as possible, a bit like me........

How to save docs as default into Storage Card\My Documents?

I'd like to save my new docs into the 'My Documents' folder of Storage Card automatically in order to save space in main (RAM) memory. I know it seems to be easy, just go to 'Options' and set 'Save to' Storage Card. I've done it in case of every frequently used program.
Camera and Excel works well, they place the new file into 'Storage Card\My Documents\My Pictures' and 'Storage Card\My Documents'. But Pocket Word and Notes place the new file just into Storage Card root.
Any hint how to solve it? Maybe some registry settings?
Thanks in advance
Tibor
P. Word registry settings - where?
Sorry, I know my question is not really Magician-specific, but I have an MDA Compact (with 1.13.00 WWE ROM, 1.13.00 Radio and 1.13.131 WWE Extended ROM) therefore this is the forum I often visit.
I appreciate if somebody has some hint...
The fact is that I tried to search for the Registry for Pocket Word settings, but found nothing (except some converters).
Solution
As it was my first request for assistance I thought the community was more helpful...
But no problem, finally I found the solution. (source: support.microsoft. com, article ID: 319616)
Let ME help if somebody has similar problem: you should delete the zero-byte-long 'ignore_my_docs' file from the root dir of Storage Card. This file prevents the built-in applications from using 'My Documents' dir as default/root folder while listing the files in 'Open File' window.
(If you need further explanation, refer to the above-mentioned Knowledge Base article.)
Cheers,
Tibor

I don't have a zero length file in my Storage Card. There was such a file in my /Storage directory. Is that what you meant?
I think the reason no one answered is that no one knew anything, not for lack of interest. Thanks for sharing the info...
You do realize that your storage card is not backed up by Activesync, whereas the main memory location is backed up? (Assuming you selected to sycronize files in Activesync)
Are you sure about the article number? I showed that article as "How to create a resource-only DLL to host an Outlook Today page"
Article ID : 319616

Re: Solution
Yes, this is the file I meant. I used the same MMC card with my previous device (Qtek 2060) that -I think- ran an older op. system, maybe that's why 'ignore_my_docs' was created on the card.
Yes, I use ActiveSync. I know it's not capable of synchronising the storage card, therefore I also use MobSync. It can.
Sorry, I mistyped the Article reference. The right ID no.: 319516.

Newbie :how to modify cab

Hello,
I was wondering if there was any way to modify an existing CAB so that at beginning of installation it prompt you for destination (internal or storage card)
I have installed many cabs with this choice at the beginning but some others don't have it and it is important to me to save space...
Is it something to add in XML file?
Thanks

I think using WinCE Cab manager you can alter this.
How?
I have downloaded WINCE CAB Manager but don't know where to set this up?
Could anyone advise? or any other solution?
This is quite useful for all of us Ii suppose as it can save space on our internal memory (and we all know we dont have much

Once you have installed WinCE cab manager (on a PC), open the cab file with it.
For each of the files within the cab, you'll need to change the install location. Right click on each file, and select the relevant option.
Make sure that you keep the relative path the same! (perhaps just add "\Storage Card" to the front of each path.

iGo8 sys.txt file

Hello everyone, I'm running a really noobie question here. I couldn't locate the sys.txt file for iGo8, could someone enlighten me please. Thanks!
Bump, help please. Much appreciated!
in your install directory for iGo8 - likely the storage card...
iGO8/iGO8/sys.txt
should be right there.
cheers.
If it is not there (ie /iGo8/sys.txt or /StorageCard/iGo8/sys.txt or where ever you installed the iGo) you can create one for yourself. Search the forum, there are plenty examples of sys.txt
