How do I backup my nexus one rom and settings? - Nexus One General

Hi,
I am looking for a way to create a backup of my nexus one, is there anything like that possible?
Thanks.

Root your phone, boot into recovery and make a nandroid backup.

Not sure if the N1 needs to be rooted, but you could use sprite backup

Restoring Nandroid Backup on a New Phone

Hello,
My MT3G phone stopped working so Tmo replaced it for another MT3G (same, not 1.2 or anything) which is of course not rooted and has 1.6 firmware so it is harder to root.
I do have a Nandroid backup of the old rooted MT3G. Can I just restore that to the new phone to get it rooted (and get all the apps back) or would that brick it and I have to root the new phone from scratch?
TIA!

After you root the new device and flash the exact same recovery then all you need to do is copy the old devices nandroid directory to your desktop. Open the Nandroid folder on your desktop and you should see a folder that starts with H******.
Do a nandroid backup of your CURRENT settings on the new phone.
You should do this for two reasons.
1) So that you have a backup in cashis doesn't work for you... but it should.
2) So you can get your new device name. (H*******) You can also obtain this by fastboot devices or adb shell devices
Rename the old devices H****** folder with the new one and do your restore.
It would be wise to backup both nandroid backups to your computer just in case. Make sure not to confuse either of them.
Rename the nandroid
so that means that I have to root the new phone before restoring the nandroid backup from the old phone?
Restoring the nandroid backup from the old phone will not root the new phone?

Hi,
TWRP offer "nandroid backup" which is a phone backup solution, it work best to restore everything if you system data goes wrong and unable to start your phone. It also means you cannot selectively restore certain apps that you want with TWRP alone.
You can either use Helium (formerly Carbon) or Titanium Backup to backup your user apps. It will save your data so no worries here. For Titanium Backup to work, you need root. Helium works fine without root, but you need to install the desktop client.
Hope it helps.
Thanks for this tipp:
so if I make Nandroid Backup and Flash new Rom (4.3) and restore a nandroid Backup it go down again to 4.2.2 or it recover just apps / Images etc. to it?

Nandroid backup works like a system snapshot, so yes it will go back to 4.2.2 in ur case. Pictures & musics in /sdcard (/data/media) is untouched, they won't be backed up when nandroid or wiped when you do factory reset. It's an isolated zone for custom recovery.

HELP!!! :'( Restore only apps and data from nandroid?

Hey guys!
So yesterday, I installed the app 'Android Control Center'. I messed around with a few settings and ended up in a bootloop. I do not have anything backed up in Titanium backup. So I made a nandroid backup in the hope that id be able to restore my apps out of that by using nandroid manager, but all of my app data were not extracted from the nandroid. So now im planning to restore the nandroid backup and use TWRPs file manager to remove that apk and its data. Are there any other things I should do to fix this problem? Will this work??
Guys, any help is appreciated!!!
Hardly believe that app can cause your system into bootloop... anyway, if you want to try.
Titanium Backup can restore apps from Nandroid backup, preferably CWM tar backup. However, this function is currently having issues with Android 4.3, so if you want to reflash the ROM, pick ROM with 4.2.2.
I believe TWRP backup should also works, but I haven't try it before. If you need to use TWRP, do it without compression & encryption.
IMO your problem can be a simple fix by remove the faulty app and reflash the ROM.
just reflash your rom via recovery, dont wipe, you wont lose any data
Alright thanks for the response. I copied my TWRP backup to my PC, extracted it and now I'm trying to copy the data folder from my TWRP backup to my ROM's data folder. Hopefully, this will work.
PS - I removed the app and i reflashed the rom but that didn't seem to fix the problem.

What is a nandroid backup and how does it differ from titanium backup?

I am new to this rooting world....I rooted my nexus 4 a week back using Nexus root toolkit v1.8.
I then flashed cm11 onto my phone.
I have TWRP recovery on my phone.
I want a full backup of my apps+data+ROM. How's this possible?? Which of these backups allow this..... And how to do these backups.
Also can anyone explain what a kernel is??
Titanium backup can only backup part of your data. Simply because apps can't access everything.
If you want a full backup, you should make a nandroid backup. Which is simply the name for a backup you do through your recovery. (TWRP in your case)
And the explanation of a kernel is really easy to find. So you'll have to use Google for that (I can't really think of a good explanation atm)

Just use the backup toggle in twrp. And no, you can't backup direct to your pc. But afterwards you can copy the backup to your pc. It's good practice to have at least one recent backup there just in case something happens where you'll need it.

Some More Question Regarding Backups :-
Backing Up Using The ROM Manager (By Clockwork Mod) also performs the Nandroid Backup ???
Also when I Restore My Nandroid Backup (Of ROM1) while i am using some other ROM(ROM 2) .....flash the device into the ROM 1 settings and all the systems settings+apps.???

First, don't use rom manager. You don't need it
A nandroid is like a copy of the entire os and all your apps and user settings. If your running rom2 and you restore rom1 all your settings of rom 2 will be forgotten and the ones you had in rom 1 when you backed it up will be restored.

Although this is not really accurate, but this is as close as I can get to. Think of a phone like a car. The engine part which is essential to make your car runs is your kernel while the body, doors, sidemirrors and everything else are part of a rom. Kernel is in the deeper layer of the system.

Restore G2 Stock KitKat app from Nandroid to CM 12.1

Hi Guys,
I recently rooted+flashed CM12.1 on my D802. Prior to that I made a nandroid as well as a TB Backup. Now I want to restore my LG Quickmemo app, including of course the notes I made with it to the CM I'm running now. Unfortunately, TB apparently didn't backup the QuickMemo app, but I guess my Nandroid should have covered it.
Is there a way to restore this app from the Stock- Nandroid to CM? I already tried Titanium Backup, but I was not able to find the corresponding backup file, since I don't even know what name TWRP assigned to the corresponding app in the backup. It isn't QuickMemo or anything similar, though.
So, is there a way to restore said app from my nandroid without having to restore my Nandroid of the stock rom. I tried that but I got a secure boot error, I don't exactly know why but I guess that it has something to do with the image being of a stock rom and not a custom one.
Help would be much appreciated,
greetz

/edit: I found the app in my nandroid and restore it, but unfortunately it doesn't run. The name of the app is com.lge.app.richnote
