Hi Guys,
I recently rooted+flashed CM12.1 on my D802. Prior to that I made a nandroid as well as a TB Backup. Now I want to restore my LG Quickmemo app, including of course the notes I made with it to the CM I'm running now. Unfortunately, TB apparently didn't backup the QuickMemo app, but I guess my Nandroid should have covered it.
Is there a way to restore this app from the Stock- Nandroid to CM? I already tried Titanium Backup, but I was not able to find the corresponding backup file, since I don't even know what name TWRP assigned to the corresponding app in the backup. It isn't QuickMemo or anything similar, though.
So, is there a way to restore said app from my nandroid without having to restore my Nandroid of the stock rom. I tried that but I got a secure boot error, I don't exactly know why but I guess that it has something to do with the image being of a stock rom and not a custom one.
Help would be much appreciated,
greetz

/edit: I found the app in my nandroid and restore it, but unfortunately it doesn't run. The name of the app is com.lge.app.richnote

Does anyone have experience with Titanium Backup ( I got the PRO) on the best way to backup this fresh install.
I'd like to restore to this state whenever a problem occurs.
Thanks for helping me out!!
OH and also, if I was to restore this backup on another ROM that I install, would it restore the ROM no right? sorry if sounds confusing..

You need to back it up in recovery, not in Titanium.
When you restore, it will return to the exact state of the backup; rom, kernel, messages, everything. Just like it was when you backed it up.

+1 You can backup via recovery all the rom n its stuff.. Titanium backup is just backing n restoring the apps..
You can use titanium backup later when you have installed some apps but to backup the factory settings use recovery

So what is the best method to backup and restore them? Shall I use TWRP and save all of it? Or shall I use other Stuff.
I also have Titanium Free Version. But this will not save my Data I asume?

Hi,
TWRP offer "nandroid backup" which is a phone backup solution, it work best to restore everything if you system data goes wrong and unable to start your phone. It also means you cannot selectively restore certain apps that you want with TWRP alone.
You can either use Helium (formerly Carbon) or Titanium Backup to backup your user apps. It will save your data so no worries here. For Titanium Backup to work, you need root. Helium works fine without root, but you need to install the desktop client.
Hope it helps.
Thanks for this tipp:
so if I make Nandroid Backup and Flash new Rom (4.3) and restore a nandroid Backup it go down again to 4.2.2 or it recover just apps / Images etc. to it?

Nandroid backup works like a system snapshot, so yes it will go back to 4.2.2 in ur case. Pictures & musics in /sdcard (/data/media) is untouched, they won't be backed up when nandroid or wiped when you do factory reset. It's an isolated zone for custom recovery.
Hey guys!
So yesterday, I installed the app 'Android Control Center'. I messed around with a few settings and ended up in a bootloop. I do not have anything backed up in Titanium backup. So I made a nandroid backup in the hope that id be able to restore my apps out of that by using nandroid manager, but all of my app data were not extracted from the nandroid. So now im planning to restore the nandroid backup and use TWRPs file manager to remove that apk and its data. Are there any other things I should do to fix this problem? Will this work??
Guys, any help is appreciated!!!
Hardly believe that app can cause your system into bootloop... anyway, if you want to try.
Titanium Backup can restore apps from Nandroid backup, preferably CWM tar backup. However, this function is currently having issues with Android 4.3, so if you want to reflash the ROM, pick ROM with 4.2.2.
I believe TWRP backup should also works, but I haven't try it before. If you need to use TWRP, do it without compression & encryption.
IMO your problem can be a simple fix by remove the faulty app and reflash the ROM.
just reflash your rom via recovery, dont wipe, you wont lose any data
Alright thanks for the response. I copied my TWRP backup to my PC, extracted it and now I'm trying to copy the data folder from my TWRP backup to my ROM's data folder. Hopefully, this will work.
PS - I removed the app and i reflashed the rom but that didn't seem to fix the problem.

hi !
i ran into a problem and i couldn´t find a working fix(if any) by myself, hope the community can help.
i had an issue with corrupted efs. i was able to restore efs from an older backup i made with twrp - phone is working again.
i then restored my latest backup which is made with the online nandroid backup app.
it restores but all my apps, settings - everything beside custom boot animation is gone.
when i open the backup in the nandroid backup manager manager, i am able to restore apps manually, so they are present in this backup.
in twrp, normally it says "backup completed". this does not happen, at the end of the process the ui resets(teamwin splashscreen showing) but no error is shown.
already wiped, flashed stock rom and twrp again with odin.
thanks for helping

it´s the international 9005, snapdragon.
i use x-note 6.0 rom.
problem solved.
it didn´t have anything to do with the efs corruption.
all online nandroid backups i made were faulty.
tried several things to make it work.
seems like reinstalling busybox finally fixed it.
Hello,
I just installed the N preview with a decrypted boot.img, rooted it with the new SuperSU and now I'm trying to restore my apps with titanium backup. Unfortunately it doesn't work. It gets stuck at restoring the first app. Do you guys have any idea about how I can restore my old apps+settings?
PS: I also have a nandroid backup of my old ROM, so I can restore that one, install another app if necessary and then reflash the N preview.
