I have a Hero and I like text to speech aplication (when somebody calls, it pronounces the name of the contact or the number. Is it possible or is it an application to do that on Leo?

lookup microsoft voice command. that does what you require.

threaded sms or text

I am looking for a threaded sms or text that can also be integrated with voice command to annouce incoming text messages or in the case of a threaded sms layout.
I tried palm's threaded sms that came off the treo 750, my text notification was gone.
I also tried voice command 6.1 because users were stating that it will annouce incoming sms, (off topic...hoping that i can hear caller over bluetooth as well) but none...
I uninstall voice command 6.1 and palm's sms software. I am using voice command that came with my i760.
One thing that pay off in my search was getting the voice command to read slowly because she was saying things way too fast and i didn't understand what she was complaining about...odd, that matches my gf.
to do so,
hkcu >> software >> microass (microsoft) >> speech >> voices >> DefaultTTSRate = 2
Default is 4. The more you move up in number, the faster michelle talks.
Don't remember off the top of my head, but I believe there is an app out there called text to speech, or something along those lines.
Also, good post on the speech speed reg edit.

There absolutely is. Lets see if he can use the search function on this sight to find it.
is it possible
i know that installing palm's sms will remove all your text into some folder. can we duplicate the incoming text to its default (before installing palm's sms) location as well. It will make for a double text message location, but I don't mind. it seems that voice command will only annouce incoming text when palm's sms is not install.

voice recognition

so I was wondering if anyone has any good voice recognition software for hereld. I want to do voice to text! I want to be able to speak out my text messages. for example: open text. then say my message. then say send to. hit me up if you got anything.

Text messaging app and contact tags

Is "Mobile" the only allowed tag for SMS on the built in messaging app? Whenever I compose a new sms, I can only select a number associated with someone's mobile phone as the recipient address. Since I use google voice, I'd rather have mobile linked to the actual user's number and something like "other" or custom linked to the SMS phone number associated with google voice's SMS service (You need to mess with google voice to know what I'm talking about). If I put that number in as a second mobile number, I want to make sure that it doesn't dial that google voice text messaging number when I call a contact, but I don't want to go through all 4k of my contacts and tag a primary mobile or something.
Any google voice users figure a workaround?

Answering my own question. I guess when you are in the stock contacts application and press the profile picture button of your contact, and hit the SMS button in that little menu of items that comes up, it defaults to google voice SMS. very nice. that little graphic menu is pretty cool too.
This is good info, thank you. I've had this issue myself as I often have 3-4 mobile numbers + a gvoice number for some of my contacts.

[Q] Google Voice Issue - Unable to call from GV number

Has anyone been able to successfully make outgoing calls through Google voice on their Sony Ericsson Arc?
I've done some searches on Google and this forum and it appears others are experiencing the same issue but there isn't a workaround yet.
Thanks in advanced!
Yes, I have been able to make calls with the Voice Search function. It works very well, similar to Vlingo.
Simply say CALL 'contact name'. If the 'contact name' has multiple phone numbers(work, home, cell, etc) it brings up a pop up box and you select the one you want and it dials.
Or you can simply say CALL 'contact name' HOME and it will find the home number and dial it direct.
Now for my question in the Google Voice search. It has to do with sending an SMS message. I am using the stock SMS app. If you say TEXT "contact name" MESSAGE "how are you?" it will send a text message to your contact with the message "how are you?"
Your contact gets the message but a copy of what you sent is not in SMS for that contact. I tested this a couple of three ways. My contact gets my message just fine and I can get their response in SMS like a normal message but I can not see what I sent them. The only exception to this is if you are already in SMS and in the text box and using a keyboard (such as Swype) that has a microphone button, if you speak your message while in the text box it will save a copy of what you sent in the SMS.
Otherwise if you are outside of the SMS program and use the Voice Search to send a text message your contact gets the message but you do not get a copy of the text that was actually sent.
Anyone else try this yet?
Using voice control to start a call is not the same as using Google Voice to make a call - Google Voice is Google's VOIP service which can be integrated into Android handsets.

Google Now Text Command / Google Voice integration

does anyone here know how to integrate Google now with the Google Voice application for sending text messages? When I tell people now to send a text message, it comes back and says that it is unable to perform this function. I am assuming it's doing this because there is no default SMS application for the Nexus 7. How can I force this command to go to Google Voice, and therefore link send a text message command to that application? Is there an intermediary application required to make this work? Thanks for your help.
