This application works on Windows Mobile 6+ Professional with NETCF3.5 and above phones. The regular version should fit all QVGA-VGA phones, and the square version is pretty self explanatory.

Awesome app - waiting to fix my phone so I can try this latest version. Really love the sms abilities!

It's as safe as anything else you do on the internet. Like I said, I'm not logging any credential info....it just gets passed to to google with SSL.
I noticed a bug, when you manualy dial from the dial pad you can't dial the number 0, when you dial 0 it comes up as a 9

Fixed and re-posted the new cab.
Nice stuff.
My specs are:
Omnia running 6.5 - WQVGA screen. I know some of these problems might be related to that.
First, I love the fact that you now have that SMS history. It kicks serious ass - I can use my keyboard with xt9 in it no problem or shapewriter - so great work.
However, I do have a problem when it comes to loading my contacts... for some reason nothing shows up. Before I was able to. So, now if I need to send an SMS I have to go into voicemail find the contact and then sms there.
How is the notification system going?
Is there a way to integrate the phone contacts with one touch - or visa versa?
Anyhow, Kudos... great work.
Looking forward to future releases.
Relay address?
I would like to use this with my T-Mobile ToGo prepaid service. However, their data service is restricted to certain sites. There is a workaround but I need the IP address of your relay in order to make the mod on my phone. Oh, and I need to be able to change the URL of the relay to something with tmobile in the URL. Basically what I would do is create a dyndns entry of tmobile.dyndns.org (or something) and then link that to your relay IP address.
Is there a way to change the relay URL in the application and can I get the IP address of your relay? I think it may work.
Thanks

You know what, I actually have a problem similar that I just noticed. It only loads mine up to the P's. Before it was a data source, and now it's enumerated. I'll work on that....don't know what it going on just yet.

Not really. What I had before, and what I hope to have again in a little bit is as close as I could get it. I did improve how the contacts worked, but it looks like I broke it too. Hopefully, I'll have the fix out later tonight.

The notification system would make this awesome. I thought that you might have been working on one because I think you said that the other thread. Anyhow, it would be great if a notification system could be implemented somehow.
And I guess as far as features go - I know that you were not paying too much attention to aesthetics, but perhaps you could have a button on the dialpad for the SMS history, contact list, or favorites, or something... that way the dialer would just be the main dialer I always use. This all piggy backing on the hopes that you get the contact list to work.
Anyhow, heres to future builds
::cheers::

I was just messing with you. The notification is already there, I just commented out the messagebox that tells you there's a new message. I did that because I'm trying to figure out how to send the event to the phone instead of a message box, because the MB won't pop up if the app is running in the backround.

if you don't put in any numbers and hit either the dial button or the sms button, the former takes you to your contacts(and I think I know what's wrong with it, fixing it now), and the latter takes you to SMS history.

Not a problem anymore. Fixed the contacts and a couple of other things and posted a new cab.
Great progress on this app (and in such a short time!). Finally just got the latest version installed and am playing around with it.
The buttons appear to be too big - I would guess I can see about a quarter of the icon I'm supposed to be able to see for ech of the numbers and the dial and SMS buttons down below.
When I click over to SMS history I get a "could not retrieve messages." error.
Dialing gets me a "web exception" error.
Im gonna keep playing with it though.
whoops. new build. should work now.
fixed the smsmessage history "error parsing message xml" error. new build posted. also fixed a small contacts error.
Is there a way to add an auto update function?
The screen does not fit properly in SE Xperia X1a. Can you make a version for WVGA?

I have a new Tilt 2 on AT&T(previously a blackberry user) and I was trying to get google talk on here?
Can someone assist on how to get this app on here...if it is possible?
Thanks,
While neither of these apps are just Google Talk, they both work well with it. I have been using Slick for several months without any problems, and recently started using OZ IM. Both work great with gtalk.
Lonely Cat games Slick - http://www.lonelycatgames.com/?app=slick
OZ IM (as extracted from HD2, also known as TMOUS Messenger) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5753551&postcount=2
You can set up a number of different IM clients to use Google Talk since it uses a standard protocol.

I have never had a problem - I just install the cab, and sign in to Google Talk using my gmail id and password.
I usually end up flashing a new ROM every few days, and have never had a problem installing & signing in.
What is the specific error you get?

that would be google voice.
You can use a couple different google voice dialers to pull your contact info from google voice, and you can send and reply to SMS messages through outlook. That's what I do

Hello all. Im new to this forum. just got my HD2 couple of weeks ago and had a couple questions. The manual that comes with it is pretty vague.
Wanted to know first of all how to kill programs thats running (also is there a way to tell whats currently running). Theres not always an X to close out some programs.
Also I noticed a when I click on notifications when I receive a new message, there is a line that says "TMobile data" and it is constantly counting up. Is this something I need to turn off/on? I have the unlimited data plan.
Ive had the hardest time transfering my contacts over from my blackberry. I tried the sync thing and outlook but its not to my satisfaction. last name shows first and some email adx dont show up and birthdays and addresses are missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Am I the only one or does the speaker on the HD2 suck? I cant hear a thing when i mtalking to someone with the volume turned to max. If I switch to speaker I can hear them but then it's dostorted. i dont like having to wear earbuds.
I copied over some jpg files to use as wallpaper on my HD2 and some of them are not showing up. Also how can I make it to where the wallpaper does not tile?
Thanx In Advance.

winmo has a built in task manager. Browse to windows and find the file taskmgr.lnk (right next to taskmgr.exe)
Click and hold taskmgr.lnk, choose copy to, and select windows/start menu (you have to expand the windows folder by clicking the +, if you click the word windows it will copy it to windows)
Now you can go back to teh homescreen, and assign a quickink to taskmgr which lets you see whats running and close apps etc.
There are others available, but that will get you started.

Thats how long your data connection has been connected... not necessarily doing anything, just connected. If you are unlimited, then dont worry about it for now. There are apps that auto disconnect etc. Do some searching

first off, in outlook, set the default behavour to first/last.
Second, see THIS thread for a changer that will change all your current contacts.
Third dont forget that last/first will still be the behavour on the hd2 for new contacts, so when you are creating teh contact, scroll to the bottom and click more and choose first/last
(or personally i put the whole name into the first name field.)
OS version - 5.2.21892 (21892.5.0.89)
Manila Version - 2.5.20121412.2
Rom Version - 2.13.531.1 (90963)
Rom Date - 04/28/10
Radio Version - 2.10.50.26
Protocol Version - 15.39.50.07U
The problem is that when I get an incoming text message, my phone will freeze for upwards of 2-5 min before the text clears and the sound plays. After the sound plays, my phone will have slight lag, but then go back to normal speed.
If multiple texts come in at the same time, my phone can be frozen for up to 15 min!
Any help?
Welcome to the HTC SMS client...the one true achilles heel of this phone. The newer version that comes in the ROM you have was supposed to fix all that, but it only seems to have helped a little, and not for everybody.
You can help it a little by keeping the number of messages in your inbox trimmed down to a minimum, but even that won't solve the issue where it chokes when getting too many messages too fast.
There's a cab or two to disable the HTC client and just work with the underlying WM interface, but I haven't tried any of them. Several of the custom ROM's available here also have that disabled by default (as part of their effort to make the phone work better in general).
So there is nothing to do?
No new messaging mods/apps or anything like that?
EDIT: I currently have lots of conversations and lots of texts in those conversations. Would trimming those down help?

Use the Microsoft Myphone program to archive your text messages online. They'll be pulled off your phone and stored in your online profile. You can restore any single sms or all of them if you.
It wont archive MMS, so you'll need to manually save those and delete them from your inbox.

Did you read the replies to this thread? In the end there is no proven fix for the problem when using the HTC Messenger. I have found that using the windows messengers greatly if not completely eliminates the problem all together.

How would you use the windows messenger?
Like disable sense ui and use the titanium ui? Cause I believe that still pulls up the HTC messenger.

ranestari, that article there has a link to (one of) the cabs I mentioned above, that will simply disable the HTC SMS client and let you use the stock WM interface instead. That should go a long way towards helping with your issues, but we still highly recommend not letting your inbox get too overstuffed...WM has long been known for not being able to tolerate that.
Sorry to necro this thread, but is there any other messaging client that I could use a cab with?
With the stock windows mobile client, I don't recieve any texts, but I know that they get sent.
Sincere apologies if this has been asked before but I couldnt find it.
I would like to use android for daily use but have been put off by the MMS problems and the constant need to disconnect/reconnect data when trying to surf etc.
I would be more inclined to use it if would save my text messages in such a way that I could get them in both winmo and android?
So if someone send me a text in android, when and if I boot into winmo, I would be able to see it there as well?
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance
Bumpity Bump?
the only way to do this is to save them to your sim card (i think)
Which is what I am asking! I want it so when i use winmo my messages are there ready, and when i boot into android my messages are ALSO there.
Im looking for a way to save texts to storage card, and them to be accessible by both winmo and android. Is this possible?
Don't think so.. Not by default..
Someone could develop a system that uploads all texts from WM to an online database (or local datastores like SD) and then sync it in Android again.. And the other way around..
One solution is to use an application like SMSBackup (Android) or Windows Phone (i think of was called) to upload sent and received messages to a cloud service (like gmail).... I can't think of one that bridges both operating systems though.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

I think the main obstacle here is the demand. I don't think this is a major concern for the devs out there.
really? i find that hard to believe. there are lots of people using android and winmo dual boot. being able go have texts etc available on both OS's would be very useful to a lot of people.
I for one would find this type of app useful!

I was syncing 6000 sms in WM with MyPhone. Every single ROM was becoming slow after that. Keeping sms in WM is a no-go for me now.
Working my way to that amount in Android but from just having a few hundred you can see the small delay in loading the pic of the contact in the sms list.
I think you misunderstand me a little.
I dont keep every msg I have ever got sent. But i do keep them for a month or so. I am looking for a way to store ALL my text messages (automatically) onto my SD card and have WINMO and Android be able to recognise they are there on boot up.
At the moment if someone send me a msg in android, the message is not in WINMO which makes it difficult to track conversations.
I hope that clears it up a little.
sprint migrate maybe, but you'd constantly be having to convert back and forth, not even too sure if it can do sms!!!
just to add to the amount of demand: this would be very helpful to me too!
I use WM most of the times, because I also have some mobile apps running I need for work. Everything works great. Next to that I have android installed. The problem is: I can't have two databases of text-messages. It would get too confusing after a while. So I can't have text messages coming in while in Android-mode (since I wouldn't be able to see them in WM). Phone-calls and email are no problem off course, neither are contacts. Only these text-messages trouble me...
If both databases could be sync'able or mergeable automatically, that would be grrreat!
Now, who can make it happen? (I wonder...)
+1 Ditto! It's the only reason I haven't switched (plus battery-life, but I think I can make that manageable if texts are fixed)
I rarely ever keep text messages and wonder why unless they are really important why people would want to keep them
Can't see this ever being possible to be honest...they'll both use their own format to store the messages...only way would be to store them online somewhere, but that would mean having to connect to wifi or 4g to view your texts which wouldnt be very handy.
Yes, that's what I think too, but I can only hope, can't I ;-)
@jonny68: next to just for chatting I use sms to exchange and/or discuss data with other people just because that works best for me. (they don't always have email on the go). That's why they have to be all together and in the right order. I do keep them for a while too...
Reset-a-thon 2K10!
I think the awnser lies in either the MyPhone server and or Exchange for Windows Server 2008 R2.. I am going to investigate this further and will report back my findings.. Hang in there!
btw.. I for one just took advantage of the HTC recall/replace of the 16GB MicroSD card, Next day air, that's what I call service. They replaced the SanDisk Class 2 with a Samsung Class 2 16GB, and I must say Android boots twice as fast!
