is possible to use mp3 as ringtone? or other soundformat or only midiare accepted?
Yes you can use MP3s as ringtones. Just copy the file to the /Windows/Rings folder.
you can use windows media and wave ....
.wma and .wav
Ah! ok many thanks!
you don't have to copy them to the rings folder
start photo contacts and the you can assign a ringtone, you can now choose al kinds of music files, also files that are on you storage card
saves space on your internal memory
Hi,
In wm5 , I try to change the default saving camera photo directory into \Storage Card\ , but it still provide me a directory \My Document\, like this-> \Storage Card\My Document\
The value of this registry will change back to \My Document\ whatever the value I modify after the exit of all program and reboot. So strange??
Which value of registry should I change? My aim is to change the directory of saving camera photo taken into like this \Storage Card\Pictures
because when I sync with pc, the windows media player will copy the files to \Storage Card\Pictures not a default \Storage Card\My Pictures\ (If I can set the sync directory, then it's great.)
Thanks a lot.
Jim
After a hard reset and sync, all contacts needing/having custom ringtones need to be reassigned manually.
I'd like a simple app that could have contact names and ringtone filenames stored in an ini file that could run silent to apply the ringtone values from the ini file (if ini present) or create the inifile if ini not present
Does that make sense or seem useful?
version 2 might even do sounds and alert tones (wav)...
Is there a registry edit that will allow me to add another folder to the sounds settings in my Ozone? I know by default the Ozone looks in \windows and \My Documents\My Ringtones for ringtones but I want to be able to put the ringtones on the micro sdhc card
I have found a work around by using HTC Audio Manager to select ringtones on my microsdhc card but it only works for the main ringtone. I cannot use it to set any other sounds like text message, email, voicemail alerts etc...
I deleted a ringtone file on my SD Card/My Documents but it still appears as an option when I choose a Ringtone. Is there a way to go through the registry to delete it?
when you select a ring tone on the sd card and "set it as device ring tone" the phone copies it to my documents/my ringtones. So... it's still on the phone.

For me, when i put on the folder My Documents, it already appears as a selectable ringtone. I tried what you said, but i don't see a folder My Ringtones appear. I've been opening every folder on my SD Card. I still can't find the deleted ringtone anywhere...
Just to clarify, I'm talking about the settings Sound & Display. The ringtone still appears there, and plays the tune, but i'm unable to locate that ringtone on my sdcard.
Windows ringtone default directory
It's in the \Windows\Rings directory.
Alert tones for sms are in \Windows directory. Filenames are prefixed with Ring-.

I have this feeling I'm not explaining myself clearly enough.. I've attached screenshots to better explain myself
Screen Shot 01:
That is what my My Documents folder in my SD Card looks like.
Screen Shot 02:
As they are located in the My Documents folder, they appear as selectable ringtones
Screen Shot 03:
However, there is one ringtone which appears there "I Think I Love You -" that is not contained inside the My Documents folder
Screen Shot 04:
I have checked the My Device\Windows\ Rings folder and have not found the file there either.
So my question is, where can the file be? And how can i completely remove it? Thank you.
hmmmmm.
Locate at My Device\My Documents. Check "My POI" and "My Ringtones" folders.
