Hey guys, just an FYI-
Giveawayoftheday.com is featuring the above listed download for 17 more hours. This is NOT warez, as multiple companies allow free downloads for a 24 hour period. My advice is to download and activate this software FAST, as there are only about 17 more hours (as of this posting) to activate it. I've found PPM 9.0 to be very easy to use while partitioning, repartitioning, and formatting my card.
It's quicker than typing it all in console

There's also a link for 64bit system users on that page. Happy downloading.

if im not mistaken auto partition like this (PARAGON) sometimes makes some issues when flashing, they said manual partitioning still better,

I second that. PM 10 is awesome for PCs, but I wouldn't use it to partition my G1. There are partitioning tools built right into the latest Cyanogen's recovery image, and scripts around it to make it easier to use.
Helpfull for noobs.. Nice find.. WIll this work for the G1? The trial ones would only partition your local drives C:\
cheers
partition manager provides an easy way for the windows user to create the correct paritions in the correct order on any sd card so is valuable in this instance.
also aside from that its brilliant if you want to move a complete operating system to a new drive, it does this with vista and the machine wont even ask for reactivation.
anyways thats way off topic...
its definately worth using instead of Gparted if you havnt got a linux based setup.
PEACE. THANX.

It's funny how things work differently for everyone. I'm running Vista x86 and never had issues partitioning my SD card on my g1. Anyhow, some may find it useful.
Just downloaded and saved I'd rather use cyanogen's recovery image though
Thank you Sr. I do find it useful .. I have always used Paragon to partition my G1 with no problems at all..
awesome man. thanks for that site. after going through some of the stuff they have given away, im gonna check it daily now. Yesterday was driver magician
Thanks for the tip! Paragon Partition Manager is the best partition software I've ever used!
real men use the parted cli
Thanks for the software, but I honestly don't like it. I prefer just booting into linux to use GParted or popping in a GParted Live USB stick

Trust me, I do the same. I keep it bookmarked in my cell and on my PC
Just to let you guys know what has happened to me in the past with paragon. I was able to use it and was very simple but 2 times out of the 3 or 4 months I used it something went wrong with the partitioning which caused my pc to crash. Thus leaving me to reinstall the OS all over again. Good thing I kept everything backed up though.
Thanks for the find, unfortunately im downloading at 15kb/s. I feel like im using aol from 95
After installing dexter's 1.3 mod, i still do not see market....I know mod works because of sound volume change...I checked sd card on tablet and it shows update.zip.zip but on laptop card reads update.zip only...is that where the problem lies? I'm not sure where i should be finding the market app...or , is there something else I should do?
Here.

Edit: BTW, there was no volume change, the mod didn't install.
i dont know wy people dont explain this better. instead of just reposting links to instruction that need clarification.
when you download he dexter mod file its allready a zip file. so all you have to do is rename it to

Not quite. If you do that on any of my workstations or laptops you will end up with a file
named just 'Update.'
It all depends on the settings you have in Windows File Manager.
If a user is going to be dealing with file extensions then the feature that is set to
'Hide File Extensions' needs to be disabled, Hence the link to the post on how to do that.
The instructions in the posting do not need clarification, File Manager needs tweaking
and that is how it needs to be configured to eliminate confusion.
It's rough that MS still realies on file extensions. And then when users are trying to do
something that requires that detail it gets confusing.

Are you serious? Get off the cheap drugs, the expensive ones won't $#% you up so bad.
I think you are actually the one that started me on that rant that I linked (that went into enough detail that it described, and gave instructions on how to fix people's common issues from TWO OPERATING SYSTEMS!) You keep telling people "just name it update" you are wrong, dead wrong. the file NEEDS to be update.zip and your generalization will only cause issues for people that wouldn't have had them otherwise... So it looks like you are the one that posts instructions that need clarification.
I posted the link because it had already been answered, I am not going to type until I am blue in the face just because some people don't have the gift of search.

I just received an A7 that I purchased for my wife. Want to add the marketplace and the ability to tether with an EVO. Have been reading and am worried that I may do more damage than good. If anyone has the time to help a beginner, I would be sincerely appreciative. Thanks and have a great day!

1) Install elocitymod 1.3 on your A7 (install instructions are at the beginning of the thread for it in the A7 Development section)
2) Wait on the bluetooth fix to see if you have any problems (I am running without the BT fix and running fine, others have issues and the BT fix helps them out)
3) If you don't want to pay Sprint $30 extra a month you are going to have to root the EVO
3a) Use unrevoked3 (quick google search)
I would recommend doing it from a Mac just because it is easier, PC you have to install drivers.
3b) Once the EVO is rooted, install "Wireless Tether" from the Market (on the EVO)
4) Profit.
This is pretty much my setup and I love it. I have done other modifications to my A7 and my EVO, but nothing that would alter this.
Help Please
Thank you so much for your reply, sincerely appreciate it. Be patient with me, new to this stuff. I downloaded the mod and tried to install, with no luck. It downloaded five different files, which one should be renamed to update or update.zip? Downloaded pda.net on the evo and on the laptop and it worked fine. Just wasn't sure what to download for the A7 to make it work. Thanks again and have a great day.

the file ElocityModv13.zip should be update.zip
Make sure Hide extensions for known file types is OFF in Windows.
I'm starting to suspect that the micro card reader in the A7 might just be finicky.
What size and type of Micro SDCard are you using?
Do me a favor and do a 'Properties' on the Dexter Mod file and post back what size is reported.
Try formatting the card this way: -=- LINK -=-

mod on SD Card
I think the ELocity only supports the micro SHDC cards not vanilla micro SD cards. Someone else in another thread had a problem with update.zip and it turned out it was on a vanilla micro SD card and when they used a micro SDHC card it worked.
Hey guys - I'm new to this forum, but I figure if anyone can help me, someone here can.
So, my bro got ahold of my phone and rooted it and installed Axura 2.2.5.9.
Since there is a newer version, I would like to throw it on and work out a few glitches and get whatever tweaks were put there.
So, how do I go about updating this thing? If anyone has the time or the patience, I would love to hear this in layman's terms.
Like:
Step 1 - download 'this file'
Step 2 - Plug phone in and drag/drop to 'folder x' on 'internal/external sd'
Etc. I came from an iPhone and all the lingo is different - like jailbreaking vs rooting. And saying "flash" instead of "load" or ROM instead of OS.
I would just like to update, but I'd liek to not be confused by all the different slang.
Thanks, anyone, for putting your 2 cents in to help a brother out.

After you read the noob guide, feel free to PM me if you need clarification... I would also be curious to know if you think it could be improved. I wrote it trying to cater to the noob.
Just install download the rom you want on the sd (internal memory, dont save it in any folder) then boot into recovery (you should be able to do so by simply holding the power button for a second) now choose install zip from sd or sth like that and pick the rom file. The end.
Sent from my JPJPM V2 powered SGH-T959 using XDA App
full instructions easily available on the d4a site
click the link in my sig go down to vibrant section > roms> read the op
Its exactly like flashing any other rom, only difference being that you have an axuraXXXX.zip instead of ANYOTHERROM.zip
Cheers.
Just remember to backup your apps, since the new rom will wipe your phone.
To be safe, you may want to make a nandroid backup in CWR... always nice to have something to fall back on.
The guide has more detail like these steps, but yes, everyone is right in saying just download it and flash it. I think it's important to backup everything.
The Noob Guide is really well written. My problem now is I cant find the file to download!
A Rom you mean? You can find those in the development forum along with other tools you may need to run/flash it.
Here's a link just in case you don't know where that is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=711
Yes, the ROM. I went to the daily bible thread and tried to click "Download" on the Axura subsection. It gave me an "Error 404 - file not found".
Just open one of the threads in the form link I just gave you and look for the ROM you wanted, then check the first post there for the download link.
I did that. That's when I get the Error 404.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949372
They must have pulled that rom of the server or the host did that. Just go for another one, plenty of options out there and quite frankly Axura isn't exactly the most sought after roms around here.
Axura is truly in need of a 2.2.1 update, but seeing as though Master is happy with his Nexus, it will never be getting one. And quite frankly, Eugene's gingerclone roms, trigger, or any of the i9000 ports run much smoother to me.
Ding forget he has also gotten a thunderbolt, I thought about picking up dev on axura but I have no where near enough time to mess with it, but I agree axura is in dire need of an update to 2.2.1
This post Trigger'd by my Vibrant
THANKS GUYS
I just got Trigger and so far so good.
My only issue is that I couldnt figure out how to restore my apps in Ti. Looked like there were 0 files backed up. Oh well. One at a time.
OKay i was having some major problems with an evo shift on metropcs.
The problem was that i could not get qpst to recognize my phone. basically it is a surf-msm7830 and it draws a blank when you try to re-provision. It only shows banner and phone state waiting for cdma or something like that.
So after a month of messing with it, i finally got a good version of qpst that works with evo shift 4g/speedy.
The secret is qpst 2.7.366, i got it from conflipper, the guy who does cricket stuff at ppcgeeks.
You have to remove the old qpst then install the new one.
Just follow bloodykiller86's tutorial and youre set to go.
I would make a modified bloody killer tutorial but i dont have the time to make screenshots.

Here is qpst
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6388346
I am uploading at 2mb so anyone should be able to get it, but i wont seed for ever.
I cant post on any other xda threads because of my low post count, stupid rule.
So feel free to move my post to anywhere it is suitable, also please add to a sticky or make this a sticky. It took me for ever to find this information and yes dont bring up the lame "search" question. It gets old and my response is, what makes you think PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO search? Just answer the question and you have more ways for answer to be indexed.
And all you people that make money from the evo shift flashing and dont want to share information, SCREW YOU!!!
I HOPE YOU LOOSE SOME MAJOR MONEY NOW THAT THIS IS OUT!!!!!!!
Almost forgot, dont forget to root. Shiftrr worked good for me. The hard part was getting the drivers and adb to work.
Then once that worked you just have to apply shiftrr about 2-3 times and see if you get root.
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/root-and-install-recovery-on-htc-evo-shift-4g-one-click-root/
Another tip, if you cant install android sdk because of java dependency (%programfiles%\Java\jdk1.6.0_25\jre and you know you have it installed already.
Just download the zip and extract anywhere, it should work just fine with out the installer.
EDIT: MMS is now working good
Here is the link to a known working mms solution for the evo shift.
"Also wana add that if you do wipe cache and data or restore apns to default after doing my fix YOUR MMS WILL STILL WORK this makes metropcs your default setting"

Thanks for sharing. But Im having issues. The link that you provided with the qpst tool......well, when you download it, there is nothing in the file box. Its an empty torrent. So could you plz give us a hotlink, rapidshare, megaupload or any re-link to the tool.
Im trying to flash back to sprint, and have been searching on-and-off for 2 weeks for this tool. Thanks
Edit:
Oh, and you dont have to put it in torrent format again, as we would have to depend on a very few seeders, so to eliminate that potential problem, uploading it to some dedicated file spot would be the way to go. Im sure u are well aware of that.
And if you do re-torrent it, im willing to help out for a month or two as i have a 10mb upload. (60mb down )
oh, last question. The usual versions I locate are 2.7.323, however I just found a 2.7.355, my question is did you try the .355 version and was not successful with that or was it the .323 version?
Guess I will hang tight til you send me a copy of the .366 one. thanks in advance!!
Oh i am sorry for not replying, been really busy at work.
Also just to let you know.
I am always seeding, its just that my kids tend to turn of the computer from time to time.
So sit tight if it doesnt start.

Hi,
I am running a SD rom and want to install a Nand.
How would I do this?
the normal way, , , 2.08.hspl,any radio 2.07.50 or higher (with a .50. in it, higher than 2,07), magldr, cwm of the correct size, then the rom. the fact you have android on sd is completely besides the point.

I have SD as I was advised by "a XDA expert" so make of that what you will.
sorry, that means nothing unless you clarify why having sd would be an issue, ,, do you mean you have an sd rom you want to dual boot alongside a nand? do you mean you want to move the sd rom onto nand? or just simply flash a new rom onto nand and forget about the sd one??
more detail of what you want to do is needed, please.

Then that is easy, all you need to do is what was previously posted. I would start by visiting this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783&highlight=toolkit
Download that program as it will do everything that you need to do to get prepared for a Nand rom. There is a video there of how to use it.
You basically Task 29, then you install MAGLDR 1.13. Once that is done you will install Clockwork recovery (you will need to check that Rom thread you want for the appropriate recovery size).
Once you have your recovery set up you just place your chosen Rom onto the card and flash it from recovery.
And no it doesn't matter what size your card is unless you plan on doing apps2sd.

Every rom thread has the necessary partition listed somewhere in the first few posts. If you can't find it searching the thread will usually do it too as there is always someone asking what partition size to use.
Now we were all noobs at one point and we all have to learn the same lesson, use the search tools and ask questions last. If you do ask, pay attention to the info provided as there are a lot of knowledgeable users here who are willing to help. But by you posting like that it will almost guarantee that you get flamed the next time you asked something.
Be respectful and you will get all the help you need, continue to post like this and you will find yourself shunned.

Hang on, who says I "flamed him" I was asking about something I have no idea about. I am one of those people that goes through every flash knowing what I am doing and knowing the full facts.
I paid full attention to what advice was given and appreciate the time and effort given to me. I have no idea what size I have to partition, that's all I asked.
I do not appreciate people thinking just because they have flashed more than others, they are superior in any way.
That guy posted his comment in a way to suggest people who know less than him are stupid.
I am on here to seek advice and knowledge so that I can pass this to many others who are are on here.
According to the ROM you want, the partition size is 445 and the cache size is 5 if you have a TMOUS phone. If its the European model the you need a 150 with a cache size of 5 and you need to partition your sd card with 3 partitions. The easiest way to partition your phone is to use the HD2 tool kit. And if you need to partition your card, then use a program like EASEUS Partition Master. Hope that helps.

1- You did not flame me, you were just disrespectful.
2- You DID NOT PAY FULL ATTENTION TO WHAT ADVICE WAS GIVEN and it seems that you DID NOT APPRECIATE THE TIME AND EFFORT GIVEN TO YOU. (Sorry had to capitalize).
3- I DO NOT THINK I'M BETTER THAN YOU IN ANYWAY NEITHER DID I POST IT IN A WAY TO SUGGEST PEOPLE WHO KNOW LESS THAN ME ARE STUPID, I was only astonished of how you ignored chrisrj28's advice and re-asked your question. You also ignored/still ignoring my post which had the PARTITION SIZE MENTIONED ON IT (which supports my theory that you don't pay full attention or read thoroughly the information given to you).
4-If you really came here to seek advice and knowledge you wouldn't have made disrespectful comments about those who are providing advice neither would you TOTALLY IGNORE the information given to you and simply re-ask your question . Even if you were able to get the information, your way in which you'll pass it to many others would be the same way.
You call yourself xda-apprentice?
You know what, its not your fault. It is mine, that I entered this thread in the first place and considered help.
Peace,
M.

1) Have you considered people on here on different levels? What seems EASY to YOU is NOT easy for OTHERS.
2) There are some really stupid people who BRICK there phone as a result of NOT following instructions.
3) No, you are the best, in fact, you are GOD right?
4) I am TOTAL NOVICE and prefer videos to see what I am doing so you telling me a,b,c with ext 2,3,4 which is bewildering (you might want to look that up)
I guess you are right, you should stick to people who are GOD's not like me.

Thanks for the clear instructions. What does this mean and how would I do this "and you need to partition your sd card with 3 partitions"

You need only 2 partitions. At first the big FAT32 Partition and a second partition with EXT3 formatted for your user apps (Size: 512MB-1024MB). Only one rom need a third SWAP partition, all other will ignore it or get problems to find the EXT3 partition.
The easiest way to create your second Ext3 Partition is in clockwork mode recovery, described like here.
But why a rom with graphic glitches (fix for that disable the hardware accelaration) and a camcorder with a 320er resolution. The graphic glitches are very annoying in games, unplayable. If you need a stable and fast gingerbread rom with sense look and features, try this one. You need 160MB system size and 5MB caches size for your clockwork partitions in HD2Toolkit for this rom.
Obvious troll is an obvious troll... Right?
Someone gave me an hd2... It took two threads and maybe 30 minutes to know the process... All of which were given/explained to you.
Check post 2 of the hyperdroid ROM in the Dev section. There is a 13 minute video that did an AMAZING job of showing each step. Maybe visual will help better, it does for me.
I prefer cm7/miui so I went with the 150MB version of cwr.
And no... I'm not better than you, but I read a lot more. I knew NOTHING about this phone.
