As I said, I don't know if you need to know this, but hope it helps. Thanks guys.

I would try updating to a more recent rom and see if that fixes the problem.

I've been running a rooted RC33 on my G1 for the past couple weeks. I just noticed tonight that the JF 1.51 US version was available via JF Updater. So I went though the JF Updater process to apply that update, as well as the Cupcake Radio update.
I think everything went well, but could someone confirm from the following "About phone" info that I actually did this correctly and that I'm now indeed running a JF version of US Cupcake with the Radio update?
Firmware version: 1.5
Baseband version: 62.505.20.17H_2.22.19.26I
Kernel version: 2.6.27-00392-g8312baf [email protected] #2
Build number: CRB43
Thanks in advance.
... and a grateful donation is going to JF as soon as I get my paycheck!
.
The build number is correct. You are all set.
Thanks!
How can I tell if the Cupcake Radio update is properly in place?
.
C'mon now...you didn't search at all? I believe every single one of your questions could have been answered with a search.
Yes, you do have the latest radio.

Try http://www.villainrom.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=375.
I think you will need the goldcard method
Fist use the oneclickmethod. http:/ / theunlockr.com/2009/08/27/how-to-root-your-htc-hero-in-one-click/
If you don't want to install a new ROM, use this old method. But skip step 5-11, because you've already done that in the one click method.

Very easy and very simple. Rootet my hero with this yesterday
Brilliant, thanks for your help, whitch is the best 2.1 Rom at the moment?
Thanks,
Dan
Hey, not trying to steal your thread. Just wondering if the method suggested by danaust will work on my hero. I also cannot use the one click root method and am trying to avoid the tedious goldcard method.
Firmware: 1.5
Baseband version: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Kernel: 2.6.27-44690c1a
Build: 2.73.707.9 146733 CL#62020
Sofware: 1.0.0.A6288
Thanks
'Tedious goldcard method'? Get a grip. Its a piece of piss. These lads on here have worked hard to make it easy for us ignorant fools and they have. You are taking ignorance to another level by ignoring the route to your goal.
please review the rules
Before this ember turns into a full on flame, let's all take a minute to review the rules?
The RULES can be found here.

Well. It's the unlockers method. The shipping part, is just because I couldn't load the "image" any other ways, so I had to use the two methods.
And yes, It's working.
Hi,
I recently purchased a G1 online that has been rooted, unlocked and I am wondering if anyone can help me upgrade it. I am very new to this, but after reading some in these forums, it seems like if I could be getting a lot more out of my device if I had a clue how to do it. Most of what I read though, I don't really understand, so I'm looking for some very step-by-step instructions, if anyone is willing.
One of the main things I'm looking to get out of this, if it is possible, is to be able to store apps on my sd card and free up the phone's internal memory.
Here is some information about the current state of my phone:
Firmware version: 1.6
Baseband version: 62.50S.20.17U_2.22.9.26I
Kernel version: 2.6.29.6-cm42
Mod version: CyanogenMod-4.2.9.1
Build number: DRC83
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help.

Only if the sdcard has an ext partition. Open terminal app, type df, then tell me what you see(if you have sdcard). But you should check out this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7061471
You can resize the data partiton(app partition) and system partition(sys files) and shrink cache partition(useless for rooted phones).
Hi,
my X8 doesn't upgrade to 2.1. I rooted the phone, following the procedure and tried severel customization code but nothing to do. SEUS answers that there is no update available for my phone.
Now, my X8 is a protype, it has the following values:
ro.semc.version.cust=20100831161743
ro.semc.version.cust_revision=R1A
Can someone tell me if I can update to 2.1?
What does exactly mean revision=R1A? Is the problem related to the revision and can I update the revision to a new version?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Roberto
Would you like me to send you the build.prop file I used to upgrade my phone? It should work then.
Edit: Note when I upgraded my phone, I also took the sim out.
I tried with the SIM out with no success.
I going to send you a PM with my email for your build.prop. Thanks a lot.
Roberto
Having the same problem
Hi Guys,
I recently got Xperia X8, and I want to install Android 2.1 so I can use Wireless Tethering. But I can't upgrade my phone. It's not yet due for the 2.1.

Model Number - E15i
Firmware - 1.6
Baseband version - unknown
Kernel Version - 2.6.29 / [email protected] #1

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advanced,

Hi all,
I bought an unbranded HTC Legend second hand. The phone is running at 2.1 update 1. As far as i know its not rooted.
When I try updating to 2.2 OTA, I get the red warning triangle and the phone freezes. When I press power + volume up, I can see that there's an assert that failed when checking system files. The information for the phone is this:
Version : 2.1-update1
Radio : 47.39.35.09U_7.08.35.21
Kernel : 2.6.29-5F084974 [email protected] #1
Build : 2.05.405.2 CL191838 release-keys
Software : 2.05.405.2
Browser : WebKit 3.1
I have tried doing updates to 2.2 OTA, from the SD card and through the PC itself all with the same result. I did search for the problem here first before posting and came up with a solution here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867890
Following the steps of someone who was having the exact same problem. I created a goldcard and downgraded to 1.3 and then OTA back up to 2.05. However when updating OTA again to 2.2 the exact same problem happened!
I am getting really frustrated, i am a total noob when it comes to things like this and have spent quite a few hours trying to get it to work.
If you guys have any suggestions, solutions or ideas that would be really really helpful. Please please please have something like a omnifixit.exe lying around i could use...
Thanks for your help!
Hello. It may be a possibility that you've got not unbranded but debranded device and update fails on CID check. If it is so, there are 2 methods:
1) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=866629
2) root device and flash BlaY0 or CM7 rom /more effort, better results
Cheers
Okay brilliant, I hadn't considered that.
I'll follow the instructions through this evening and let you know how it works out if at all.
much obliged for your help!
